Our guide actually arrived early, giving us a great start to the outing. He was professional, knowledgeable and a great person to converse with about the area.

Not a cheap tour but generally quite informative and fun. Specially it was a good geology lesson for my 13 year old daughter :)

We had an amazing experience, rich in information about Etna as a whole. Our personal guide MariaElena was a joy to be with. Highly recommend.

Tour guides were prepared and experienced and as well as being very informative it was a pleasure meeting both tour guides and discussing their daily life. They were very friendly and polite. Let us take easy routes since we had small children.

The excursion did what it promised though as we were the only 2 people on the trip, it would have been good to see a little more of the countryside on the journey. The local product tasting should be dropped from the itinerary: it's just a tourist stop.

Florinda was a realy nice guide, we have a very good time with her. She told us all the practical informations, with deep but understandable scientific knowledge.

The guiding in the bus was really good. However taking us to the top of Etna in the terrible weather was not a good decision. It was very strong wind with snow on the top so we just had a very short and unpleasant walk outside the bus. We did not see anything but the path we walked on. The trip should have been cancelled. I live in the northern part of Norway so I'm used to this kind of weather and know how to dress for such conditions. But we were not equipped for such weather conditions.

The buying of the trip was very easy, the info was very well written and easy to understand. Looking forward to have the trip.

Had such a lovely experience with the tides tour. Was relaxed and interesting and the guide answered all my questions about it. I left feeling a deeper understanding of such thing as volcanos

The tour was amazing and our tour guide Giovanni was exceptional!

The bus ride to the first point where the cable car started was good. The guide was really knowledgeable and entertaining.
Then we were taken to the top by terrain vehicles because the cable car was maintained at that time.
When we came to the top, the weather was so incredibly bad. We could not see anything, it was cold and extreme winds. We were supposed to walk 30 minutes to a view point, but this was really not possible due to the strong winds and even if we arrived at the view point, there would be no view whatsoever.

The weather is not something the operator could control or be blamed for. However, what they can control is the information they give prior to the guests since they already had people on the top point who could report that this could potentially be dangerous. This is because the groups were mixed when they passed each other and the guides did not see the whole group of guests. If someone had wandered off, no-one would notice unless they were reported missing by fellow guests. I really paid 60 EUR for an unpleasant experience.

I guess this is an amazing experience when the weather is nice, but don't bother if the forecast is not good. My opinion is that the tour operator will not let you know that it is not worth it.
