Ewd collections are a fraudulent company using the details of previous trading enstroga's customers pretending they owe outstanding amounts. Tonight in fact, I've reported them to action fraud. I would advise anyone else who's had them try to claim money fraudulently to do the same. Currently wondering how many people may have fallen for the scam thinking they owe an outstanding amount. I was charged a whole year at FT³ when my meter was in M³ meaning I'd paid much more than I should have....

I was with Enstroga for a few months when I first moved into my flat as they were a supplier for the previous tenants. I paid my bills, ensured all outstanding payments were paid, and closed the file - I even had confirmation from Enstroga that my account had successfully been closed and they are no longer my supplier. A year later I received email after email chasing me for a "final payment", threatening me with court and harassing me into paying - I sent all proof of account closure to them and kindly told them to stop harassing me. Absolutely disgusting scumbags who should be thrown in prison, if they have no qualms trying to frighten people into paying imaginary bills then I should imagine they lack any soul. Throw them away and let them rot.

Only given 1 star as you have to give something - they deserve a big fat zero. I was one of Enstroga's customers and the whole time they were trading their customer service and administration was shambolic. I was over £1100 in credit with them at the time they went bust - despite endless e-mails to the so-called administrators ewd-collections (I say so-called because it turns out ewd was founded by ex Enstroga MD Oliver Pfeiffer) they have ignored them all and there seems to be no other way of contacting them. I provided them with every single meter reading and statement showing that I had that credit. EOn Next don't seem to want to know either. Ofgem about as useful as a chocolate teapot. Totally at my wits end and so stressed at the thought of losing over £1000 to basically criminals from what I can see. Looking at Companies House it shows them as still trading, which is curious. Or at least it says that compulsory strike off action has been cancelled - why? Not had time yet to ring them and see if they can give any advice but if I find anything useful out I will post again. More than happy to join up with the other unfortunate ex Enstroga customers who have had their money stolen. How do we do it?

Like the other reviewers - I am owed several hundred pounds from enstroga (ewd). I have tried contacting ewd with no response. If other reviewers are interested, would it be worth coordinating a legal response against the director of ewd?

Unfortunately this isn't a scam. It's the previous MD of Enstroga set up a collection company to collect on all the failed Enstroga accounts. Feels shady but they are not based in the UK so they say in the emails you owe 454£ the same way they do in Euros. They won't confirm I have paid my amount off in full and im sick of asking for a reply from them. Poor beyond belief.

I have been trying to get £690 back from EWD in payments made to Enstroga after 1.10.21. Eon next will have nothing to do with it because they say EWD haven’t contacted them, I opened a case with the energy ombudsman which also amounted to nothing, endless phone calls to ofgem, citizens advise, the FCA and many more. No response to any emails ever from EWD and after considerable digging have discovered the following- EWD are a NON registered debt collection agency, not an insolvency practitioner ( advised ofgem who don’t seem to care). There address is 7 bell yard, London which is actually a digital address used solely for the purpose of registering with companies house. Last week I sent by recorded delivery, a letter to Oliver pfeiffer, the director. It was signed for but as of yet no acknowledgement. I truly believe this is directors of Enstroga interested only in getting money owed to them but with no intention of paying money they owe out. I’ve spent hours of my life trying to get my money back. Ofgem and Eon say my credit is protected but it’s utter rubbish. No one cares. I’ve threatened Oliver pfeiffer that I will go to national newspapers to publicise what this Terrible company has done to rob people. Citizens advise say take it legal but what will be the cost of this. Has anyone here actually managed to get any credits paid back from EWD/ Enstroga? Has anyone actually managed to speak directly to these philistines?

Update to my previous review. After some research and checking-out my previous bills direct from Enstroga I discovered:
A) there was a small bill resulting from closing the account.
B) the account number I was given was in the name of Enstroga ltd. (Why didn't EWD say that in the first place!).
C) I owed £9.68 but they (EWD) billed me £19.68 claiming that they had added a surcharge of £10 for late payment.
D) Rumour has it that they may DOUBLE the actual outstanding Enstroga bill as 'punishment' for late payment.
E) So NOT a scam - just (in my opinion) a collection service that seems to be working exclusively for Enstroga.

I too suspect a scam. In fact, I think EWD is actually Enstroga themselves, still chancing it from beyond the grave. EWD began emailing me in Feb 2022 chasing a spurious debt from renowned cowboy sharks Enstroga. I called and explained that I had paid my final bill from Enstroga almost a year earlier and could prove it. EWD promised to look into it, and sent me an email thanking me for reaching out and confirming no further charges would be added. Looking into the ‘company’ online it’s incredibly difficult to find evidence EWD exist - though eventually you find they do. Sort of. In Germany. Like Enstroga. I hear nothing furtheruntil receiving a letter on 18 October. It’s dated 11 October, demanding payment before 10 October. It tells me they have no record of me responding to their letters in February.

Thankfully I have just such a record (god bless email) and have reiterated the whole saga in writing today. If I’m not met with success I shall post the entire letter in trust pilot against EWD and Enstroga.

The parallels comparing EWD and Enstroga are too striking to be coincidental - errors, spelling, dates, weird addresses, difficult to find, all Eastern European accents, extortion…

One thing for sure: I’m not throwing good money after bad. Devil’s the penny they’ll get from me.

I received a letter from EWD Collections stating that they are acting on behalf of Enstroga Energy and that I owe £101.74 which should be paid within 7 days. The letter was dated 8 days ago so I telephoned them. I gave them some information which they asked for security reasons. This was my email, full name and address. He mentioned about there being a £50 late payment fee which he would take off, he put me on hold and then I got cut off. I tried to call back three times only to be cut off and not answered at all. My gut tells me that this is a scam!!!
