Honestly from the reviews on here I was quite worried to go with this company. However, from the first phone call with Samson, I felt reassured. I just graduated and couldn’t afford to send 7 boxes from UK to Austria for 1k-1.5k which was what I kept getting quoted by other companies. European moving quoted me the lowest at just £540. I was still skeptical due to this but with it being my only option I went forward.
My boxes got picked up on the correct date and time and took about 2 weeks to get delivered. I was told that it would be 2-4 days, so I became very worried when it was taking longer, but everything came in near perfect condition, especially given I used weak boxes.
Here was the process: I called for a quote and I asked if I could have a day to hear back from others and get back to confirm. Samson was very kind and gave me until the end of the next day, and I ended up confirming. Paid the deposit, then the rest of the amount 3 days before collection. Boxes got collected and I was told I would be given a tracking link.
My only issue was the lack of transparency with the shipping process. With the expectation of a 2-4 day delivery, when I still didn’t have the boxes after over a week, I was a bit concerned so I hounded them quite a bit. Although they replied to emails quick, it was very vague and I was really worried they weren’t going to deliver. Boxes got picked up on a Thursday, I emailed on Monday for a tracking link that I was told I would receive the next day. This happened every day until Thursday and I never got the link. Called them on Monday and was told my boxes would leave on Tuesday and I would get the link, but was never sent it. I emailed on Wednesday and was told I’d get notified of the delivery date asap. I was a bit agitated at this point and said it seems like they don’t know where my goods are, and at this point I was told they’re in a warehouse in Kent. Then two days later I was informed the delivery would come in 48 hours. The next day a lovely lady called to confirm they would arrive on Saturday and she’d even give me a call an hour before and finally my goods arrived!!
So everything worked out great, I just wish I was told a more accurate delivery time and the communication was clearer, because I never got a tracking link despite being told several times I would. Which is fine, I just wish I wasn’t told about it if I wasn’t going to receive it. I also had no idea my goods were sitting in a warehouse for so long. Nonetheless, besides that I have no complaints. Everyone was lovely.
TLDR: was told 2-4 day delivery time for 7 boxes from UK to Austria but goods took two weeks and communication was shaky, but everything arrived perfectly fine.
I'll just add to the dumpster fire of reviews for this company.
My experience was a while ago, but still makes my blood boil. In 2019 i moved from London to Oslo and hired this company as they offered a dedicated van at a low(ish) cost.
All was arranged, complete with extra money for a tailgate on the van, and a payment for them to handle import costs with Norwegian customs.
The drivers showed up on the day, neither of them spoke a word of English, and there was no tailgate on the van. This was an issue as my motorbike was meant to go in the van. They fashioned a ramp from a metal plank that was part of the framework for the back of the van and push my bike up this, cracking the fairing underneath in the process. I did manage to get the money back i paid for the tail lift, but the damage was done to the bike.
Annoyed, but with all my items loaded they set off.
A couple of days later they arrived in Oslo, unloaded my things and disappeared. It transpired that they had not checked in with customs, meaning that i needed to pay customs fees and arrange an import inspection myself, costing me both money from my pocket, and lost earnings from time off of work for this.
I complained to them that they hadn't carried out what was agreed, and had damaged my bike. Fairings aren't easy to come by for my bike which is over 30 years old. I had lost money, had suffered a lot of stress at their hands and had a damaged bike that i now needed to fix.
I was offered £50 back in compensation. Laughable really. After arguing with them for days it was clear it would not get better, so i accepted the pittance. They asked me over and over again for my bank details, and stopped replying to me once i began chasing them for an ETA on this money. I eventually got the money, but it pails in comparison to the extra expenses caused by them, and the stress they gave me.
I hope people read this and other reviews and make the decision to spend a little more to deal with a real company. This was hands down the worst customer service experience i have had in my life.
This company is getting one star because it is not possible to give zero stars or negative stars. The company was briefly called European Moving Ltd and prior to that App-a-van (UK) Ltd. Our advice is DO NOT USE this company. Their business model simply does not work. We moved from France to Italy in early July and this move was one of the worst experiences in our lives. We had not moved house for over 16 years so, although I talked about what our possessions comprised of at great length with them, no-one from their company came to estimate. As we are not in the moving business, we were not in a position to accurately estimate the size or weight of our possessions, although I did tell them that when we moved to France from the UK, we had had a huge lorry plus lorry trailer. The only person who arrived to do any estimating was someone from the subcontractor "packers". At that time no-one mentioned that 3 vans, giving allegedly 60 cubic metres or 3 tons, would not be sufficient. Appavan ( or their current incarnation ) use subcontractors. The packing subcontractors arrived about 2 hours late which immediately did not bode well. They then walked off the job about 4 hours later. The job was nowhere near complete and we did more packing than they did. At least the packing subcontractors were French, and given that we were moving from France, that was reasonable and my French is pretty good. However, the Van driver loaders were a mixture of Romanian, Ukrainian, Russian and Polish. We have no problem with that, but they had about 10 words of English between them and we think it is completely unacceptable and stupid to use subcontractors who do not speak a reasonable amount of either the language of the countries they are moving between or the language of the customer. Using google translate is not a viable way to communicate in a stressful situation and with erratic internet connectivity. We have numerous pictures of the way they loaded their vans, and subsequently unloaded into our house. Ditto with the packers. We do not think dumping all soft furnishings mixed with clothes into massive bags which take two people to move, is a sensible option. We had stupidly assumed that packers would "pack" and use some sort of cardboard wardrobes for the clothes. We ourselves had to return to France to pick up the items they refused to load, when they said that their vans were overweight. ( We had to hire a van and drove 5 hours each way ). BEWARE of underestimating the volume or weight of your possessions as, by the time we and they realised that their 3 vans would not be big enough, we had no option but to keep adding more vans at a cost of €1500 per van, we were effectively being held to ransom, any delay beyond the day of completion ( bearing in mind all our possessions should have been packed and loaded the day before ) would result in severe financial penalties for us. Luckily our buyers were amazingly understanding, but no-one involved ( estate agents, notaires, friends, us, our buyers ) could believe the debacle that was unfolding, and the suggestion that the whole set up was a scam was mentioned several times. One of the van drivers nearly destroyed our concrete gate posts. Now that everything is unpacked, we are "missing" an antique gun, a valuable watch, a bracelet with sentimental value, some valuable tools. We are sure that some of these items were loaded on to the vans ( obviously they should have all been loaded but they are not in Italy or France ) but they have not been found in our new property. An original oil painting was seriously damaged and, for Appavan to say insurance would cover it, is missing the point.....paintings should have been carefully wrapped, not just thrown in to the vans. The only thing which was good, was one of the managers called Darren who was immensely helpful and 99% available on the phone when things were desperate on the moving days, both in France and Italy. We suppose we should be grateful that the majority of our possessions did make it from France to Italy in good time. To summarise, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, their inaccurate estimations which then give a competitive quote, are unreliable and we ended up paying approximately 60% extra, and their subcontractors are extremely difficult to communicate with. Perhaps if you want a move within the UK, they might possibly do the job reasonably well.

Llevo dos años esperando a que me devuelvan el dinero de una mudanza que se pago, se cancelo a tiempo y ni llegaron a realizar.
Casi 2000€ que pague y que ya no espero cobrar pero viendo en otras plataformas y en esta misma tengo que decir que soy un afortunado ya que otras personas que los contrataron, pagaron y encima se han quedado sin sus cosas….y no solo hablo de muebles sino todo lo que conlleva una mudanza como fotos, cosas personales y demás.
Lo dicho, son unos estafadores y mentirosos que ni pagan ni realizan las mudanzas.
Como ya contaba, ya han pasado dos años que no dan señales de vida.
Absténganse de contratar a esta empresa.

He is a con artist and a fraud… he takes your money and doesn’t even provide a service does not turn up or he provides a service less than what you paid for or you goods go missing … zoom up all his companies on Companies House he has multiple claims against him including CCJ’s and Fraud Office are involved this is a legitimate and trustworthy complaint nearly 40 of us in a group attempting a class action against him and his previous company names

So this company failed to turn up on the 29th January 2021 to move us to France… just didn’t turn up no phone call none mail no explanation and we still haven’t received one. We instigated legal proceedings which they at no time responded to or contested and when bailiffs arrived the rite could not be issued because yet again they have changed their company name through companies house and so the rite could not be issued. £1850 plus legal costs through the courts and still no reply from every department and contact … the CEO x 2 change on every company name change DB and DTV ( we aren’t allowed to use their full names due to GDPR which is comical ) are rouges. We have now an official complaint with the Fraud Office as do 35 other customers who this company tradinging under a new company name which does not even show on any of their web sites or official paperwork of DPB storage ….DN & BB ( we aren’t allowed to use their full names due to GDPR but he can steal our money and belongings ) both send pathetic e mail responses blaming Brexit … not sure how taking someone’s money and just not turning up has anything to do with Brexit … they charge customers extra for services and then provide them but again take the money , one lady lost her whole home the van was never seen again and the company do not insure you … we now are in touch with the Secretary of State for Business and the local MP for Folkestone, Trading Standards, Citizens Advice and Companies House are all aware of the companies trading … we will not give up neither will the others in our group ….

They cancelled our move the day before the move date putting me in an awful position. Then proceeded to spam me for months, even though I told them multiple times I already moved. In the end, refused to refund the money I had paid in advance (gave me "credit" instead - I obviously already moved and will never use your services). I would avoid - the risk is not worth it (they're only slightly cheaper than the competition anyway but immensely more incompetent and scammy).

26/07/2022: Seriously, this is the best you could come up with, European Moving Marketing team? Now the war is at fault that you took my money in January 2021, didn't deliver the services and didn't gave the money back??? Difficulties in the business world happen every day, every month, every year. Reputable businesses care about their customers. The fact that I get this type of responce on my one start Trustpilot review instead of your customer support team contacting me and arranging the money to be paid back - says it all!

Avoid at all costs. They are scammers! We paid them in full to move in January 2021, they didn't show up, leaving us in a very difficult position. They said they will refund the money, but a year later we are still waiting. We went to court and got CCJ against them, however they know the system in and out well. they just changed the company name to avoid paying! Sadly British system has large gaps for complanies to scam people out of money and never pay back!

Anyway, I didn't pay much attention, I was already tired from the day before and carrying all the boxes into the van, and dealing with all the other cons of it (flights, landlord, dog, wife).
Before closing the last box for the move, I put a GPS tracker inside the box to track the truck's route and know the route they were going to take, as the sellers confirmed that the truck would be crossing by ferry from France straight to Ireland to avoid problems with customs passing through the UK border because of Brexit.
On 27/10 at 3pm the van was already at the port of Cherbourg waiting for the ferry. On 28/10 the van arrived in Dublin harbour at 12am, and suddenly the driver started heading towards Northern Ireland and stopped near Belfast at around 5pm, crossing the UK border!!! But why going in that direction if my stuff needed to go in the direction of Galway??? If the van is dedicated, it should leave the embarkation point and go to the final destination directly, even because the contracted weight limit of the van was 1000kg and my load was already at the maximum weight limit the van could carry. On the route from Belfast towards to Galway, the driver instead of taking the motorway, which is good to drive and smooth, he has taken the worst country roads towards Galway, full of bends and unlevelled, with the truck fully loaded of my stuff!!!
I found a lack of professionalism, and a lack of consideration for the customer, especially the fact that the delivery route has changed for a dedicated van, going to a country that belongs to a non-European country, at the risk of suffering customs problems, in addition to the truck being already carrying the weight limit, probably exceeding the limit if I was carrying any other load than my stuff. If I wanted to have part-loaded I would have hired this service which would have been cheaper than a dedicated van!!!
In the end, I do not recommend this company at all!! They are great sellers and talkers, but at the time of action they are incompetent, that's not how business is done, they only have good reviews on truspilot because they give 50eu refunds to anyone who gives them a good review, sorry!!
By the way, the last thing I thought I would have trouble with was the van, as I had confirmed it a couple of times beforehand! A 3-month schedule changed in hours because of this messy company!

Worst Move Ever!!!
I have made 13 domestic and 5 international moves in the past 40 years. This most recent move with European Moving turned out fine after we hired a lawyer and paid the additional demand of more money. The truck is owned by a second company, the driver - a third subcontractor. Our move coordinator appeared to take pleasure in his little "power trip." The security band on our load was broken prior to delivery and at this point, we do not know if our property is intact. Our property was not delivered until we paid his ransom demand. My wife's stress level was off the charts. Do yourself a huge favor - avoid this company like the plague.

European moving a annulé notre déménagement deux jours avant la date à laquelle il devait avoir lieu sans pouvoir nous donner une autre date. Nous avons du prendre dans la precipitation un autre déménageur. Il ne nous ont jamais remboursé depuis 8 mois malgré de nombreuses relances. Nous avons donc payé pour un demenagement qui n'a pas été réalisé. Ce sont donc des voleurs.

I used European Moving (EM) for the second time while moving from Derry in Northern Ireland to Loughborough recently. Overall, I would say that my experience was good in terms of the costs, security of items and time of delivery (I got my items at the destination the early next day which was super convenient). One of the things that EM could do better on is the timing of drivers that is relegated to the customers. In my case, I choose the option to have the driver come over in the morning window (8 am - 12 pm) and requested that the driver be sent as soon as possible. I was told that it is highly likely that the driver would be there by 10, if not 8. Instead, the driver came at around 1215 which was inconvenient was me as it impacted my subsequent plans. Another thing that was a bit problematic was the documentation for the move. I was asked to get a TOR (Transfer of Relief) form for my move by EM. This was actually not required since my move was within UK and it is only needed to avoid customs on your personal belongings when somebody is moving to UK from abroad. This did give me a headache as I was asked to do this around 10 days before my move and HMRC has a timeline of two weeks for issuing TORs. Having said that, everybody is adapting to the extra paperwork caused by Brexit and this could have been the reason for the problems I faced in this regard.

Did the job.
The driver waited 3 hours at the wrong address. With me on the phone to the company saying the driver wasn't there. After finally getting there, loading was quick and professional.
The driver did not speak English, and I do not speak Ukrainian, so there was very little chance for communication during the ride.
Apparently the driver did not want to pay 10 Euros (I guess out of pocket) to use the Autobahn through the Alps. So a ~5 hrs drive became ~9-10 hrs.
If I would have understood this earlier I would have happily pay the additional 10 Euros.
On the unloading end, again everything went smooth and professional.

European Moving, especially Andreya and Hossam, offered outstanding customer service. I live in the USA but they made the whole process simple by phone and by email. When my bank reversed payments (for suspected fraud!) they patiently worked with me to resolve the issue. I highly recommend this company which enabled me to move my late mother’s effects from England to France.
