I bought an Eratec stone oven in December 2022 and it stopped working within warranty time. I contacted the company and provided a valid invoice from ERA-TEC GmbH, clearly showing their name, address, and payment details.
They replied claiming the “former company” went bankrupt and the current one has no obligation to honour previous guarantees — even though my invoice shows the same address, contact info, and legal name they currently use. As a customer, I was never informed about any change of company or ownership.
I find this unacceptable and misleading. I paid for the product in good faith and even covered international shipping. The company offered a repair only if I cover all costs again, which I see as an unfair treatment and refusal of basic consumer rights.
This was not my fault. A company cannot just rebrand and walk away from their responsibilities.
