Communication is useless
Ordered some samples a few weeks ago and they arrived - great. Was then sent several marketing type. ‘Can we help you?’ type emails. I was then sent what felt like a less generic email from a specific person, albeit from a generic info email address. Replied to that on Monday this week, chased it up on Thursday and, this morning the same person has sent me the exact same email offering help. I am about to replay to that email again
All I actually want to know is will the primer or paint adhere to plastic beading? Or to stainless steel beading? And do you have any suggestions for paint colours that go with black or anthracite windows???
I note that most issues raised in the reviews on Trustpilot are relating to customer service. Based on my experience so far I am tempted to not bother buying what would amount to about £2k worth of paint.
Update - I actually got a reply - huzzah! Only NO, it only answers 1 out of 4 questions plus 1 that I didn’t ask. .
So this stuff can’t be used on stainless steel (or steel) beading, as it’s only tested on masonry and I still don’t know if it can be used on plastic beading.
So if I read their website correctly, it can be painted over previously painted surfaces - if that’s steel covered with masonry paint, will that take?
Can’t believe that for such an expensive and top rated product that there has been no consideration of or testing on products that are vital to applying new render I.e. beading

Excellent, I would recommend this masonry paint.
Used Emperor Masonry Paint on some newly applied render. I followed the application guidelines to the letter and used Emperor primer, the paint is easy to apply and covers very well. When the paint is dry it’s a lovely even matt finish and I’m very pleased with the results.
Some words of caution; I would recommend thinning the first coat by 10%, which makes it much easier to apply and that overall you’ll need a third more paint than the guidelines say, at least on new smooth render.

You’ve raised some really helpful points too. New, smooth render can be more absorbent than expected, so coverage can vary and using a little extra paint is sometimes necessary to achieve the best result. Thinning the first coat slightly can also help with application in certain condition

1st impressions, great product.
Ordered my paint and within the next working day it had arrived. Incredible paint really. After one coat my extension render looked great. The 2nd coat made it really pop! You get what you pay for. Let's just hope it really is weatherproof. But after just one coat I felt it was superior to ordinary masonry paint.

I wanted paint made in the UK, and that was different from the existing big brands.
The product was easy to order, and the website was very informative, aiding my decision.
Quick delivery and arrived when said.
Required for painting the existing painted pebbledash at the front of the house. I tested on a smaller section of the front. It was thick, so coverage of the existing old paint was great.

Emperor Base Coat Paint & Textured Base Coat Rollers are great!
The ordering, price, next day delivery and quality of the Base Coat product and matched rollers was excellent.
My painter found that the textured paint coating on my rendered house was lifting away and the job of patching a few areas and repainting my house suddenly became a major, unplanned removal of expanses of the loose coating whilst leaving areas that were still sound. We needed something urgently that would resolve the problem!
The Emperor base coat and special rollers arrived the next day whilst my painter was still prepping and painting an area that didn't require remedial work.
He was then able to apply a couple of base coats to the exposed render areas and then a further base coat to overlap the retained textured painted areas having filled out to remove any obvious edges. Whilst not a perfect match to the existing textured area it was a pretty good match after practicing with the textured rollers. He also used it successfully to cover over some old large cracks that he had made good too and they are no longer visible.
All completed with the exterior paint (not Emperor as it had been previously purchased) to make the total repaint job a great job. The painter, who had never used it before, said he will definitely use it again and recommend it to his colleagues.
