A nice railway with very friendly staff that is unfortunately too geared towards dining and other special experiences. It doesn't even publish a timetable that the ordinary visitor can browse, it is necessary to go onto the ticketing site and see what journeys are available. This doesn't show fully booked services on the particular day and there is no easy way of seeing the whole timetable before choosing a day when your preferered service is available.

I unfortunately raised a complaint because I felt that they disability discount was a discrimination concern in breach of the Equality Act 2010. To have a policy that only allows for a benefit to be applied to people who are in receipt of the higher level of disability benefit only, could be an act of indirect disability discrimination against disabled people, in line with the Equality Act 2010.

I urged the company to reconsider the policy by offering either a benefit which doesn’t exclude other disabled persons or remove the benefit entirely. For the policy to be lawful, you would need to show that this requirement is a 'proportionate means of achieving an legitimate aim' If a legitimate aim can be achieved by less discriminatory means the policy maybe then unlawful.
This was submitted on the 10th Sept. I’ve not yet had a response and as such I’m escalating it with citizen advice.

Lovely trip and afternoon tea on the Prince of Wales carriage today. Very nice host - and good service. Great to experience this wonderful steam train in action.

From start to finish superb. Hapoy staff very helpful. Free to park. Wonderful trains comfortable..nostalgic..so peaceful going through the Yorkshire countryside...I would recommend to anyone. Just wish the ride was longer..thanks

Just took my wife ,daughter and grandson on the polar express,what an amazing experience from start to finish,all performed by amazing friendly staff and just like the film I would thoroughly reccomend this experience to anyone

Excellent steam train trip. Very nice afternoon tea and a good brief on the railway refurbishment and conservation efforts. All in all good value and a great “steam” experience.

From start to finish a lovely time was had by all . Afternoon tea in Queen Victorias carriage was a delight. The atmosphere at the station , the helpfulness of the staff with elderly customers, the stories of the renovation of the carriage ,the lovely plentiful food served en route , a beautiful ride through the countryside and the company of the Queen herself .
We were amused !
