Bought the TF Alderley F P from LightingOnline but when I tried to fit the lamp to the ceiling bracket it did not fit. I believe that it had been supplied with the wrong bracket as the screws were a centimetre too short. The paperwork had a helpline (Elstead) but they refused to help, referring me to LOI. No idea when I will get it fixed.
Also note that it is quite dim (not like the photos at all) with the rated max lamps fitted. Also note they do not supply the terminal block!

Dealt with Toni at Elstead lighting in order to gain some clarification on some Elstead light fittings I had purchased from KES lighting. She was an absolute pleasure to deal with, and although it didn't alter the outcome of the situation with KES lighting, she understood the value of good customer service - ie actually communicating with the customer, having an extremely helpful and pleasant manner, actually trying to help - which seems to be a rare thing these days!

Amazing customer service. I purchased an Angelo light fitting a few years ago and the chain was shortened to fit the height of the ceiling.
I moved house recently and brought the light fitting with me. The chain needed to be longer due to a higher ceiling.
I contacted Elstead yesterday to see if they could supply another chain. They couldn’t have been more helpful and today a new chain is on its way FOC. The customer service would have been excellent at any time of year, but less than three weeks before Christmas when I’m sure they were very business, they went ‘above and beyond’.

Purchased PIR lighting. Very poor quality. The PIR part failed after a year as the plastic PIR cover disintegrated and let in water on both lights that I purchased
Elstead wanted in excess of £37 to supply two replacements saying they were expensive to buy but this is not the case they come from china and the equivalent can be purchased for just over a £1 for one off.

Elstead Pembroke Wall Light in Black/Gold: Where do I start! Firstly there were some specially painted screws missing then I discovered that the supposedly supplied fitting 'Templates' were not supplied (in any of the packs I bought). The fitting instructions were very badly printed and virtually unreadable in places.
Next the painted screws were too big to pass through the metal frame holes and the holes in the frame were drilled offset to one side so much that to drill them out any larger risked popping through the side!!!!
There were no 'dome' nuts supplied but instead just a zink screw that is nigh on impossible to fit because of the design. The screw then stands out like an ugly sore thumb against the other painted metalwork.
The design is such that the light bulb ends up on one side only so once illuminated it looks very unbalanced.
Definitely poor quality and not worth the £60 each I paid. Save your money.

I bought about 30 + Baltimore Outside Lamps from this company and they are the worst designed outdoor lamps you have ever seen. Don't waste your money here as they all leak when it rains and you will forever be calling out an electrician. I called the company and explained the situation but the MD didn't want to know !

I went online to look at the vast range of lights that look of good quality for my new build and was looking to spend a reasonable amount of money on new light fittings. However the web site shows no prices on any of their lights. Seems odd they feel the need to hide the price of their products so I will spend my money elsewhere.

Impossible to order lights online. I tried to order lights via an online retailers. They can't confirm a delivery time, they said Elstead had an IT problem. Maybe it is a stock problem. Whatever the reason, it has wasted our time. Don't waste yours!!

Edit: like the review said, the orders were via online retailers. We bought our lights from another brand in the end which had a more reliable delivery.

Bought Apollo 1 table lamp which is very expensive. Paid £160 for this lamp which is badly finished painted. Marks of finger overcome sprayed painting from manufacturing.

Very unhelpful, rude and disinterested in problems with their product bought through an online retailer! Complacent attitude does nothing for a good customer service record!!

Rang yesterday to say the fixing pack was missing from the Norfolk light we had bought and if by magic they have appeared today. Fantastic customer service, highly recommended. The lights look amazing

I have been recommending for years that people who want to see the best lighting showroom in the country, if not Europe, should pay a visit to this wonderland of lights on a trading estate in Alton, Hants. It is worth the trip!

Their collection of the world's top lighting brands, including fittings made in their factory behind the showrooms, is displayed in many rooms of lighting displays, with the lights all flashing on as you enter each room.

Such style, in both the designs and displays. This series of showrooms on two floors is so interesting it is a tourist attraction in itself.

Although Elstead Lighting, also trading as Distinctive Lighting, is not a budget lighting centre we have learned the hard way that buying rubbish products at discount superstores is not the way to go.

Quality lighting, as stocked here, is well worth paying for, something two electricians in different areas told us after they both made similar comments about the problems of installing badly made Chinese lighting products. One of our jobs is property management so we needed to know this.

We are now ripping out some of the non-working cheapo lighting rubbish from our home- put in with the claim that it would last ten years or more and failing after two -with quality light fittings from Elstead Lighting.

Rest assured, you can pick up excellent buys here as they always offer discounted ends of line and offers, as well as their sale times.

We just bought three Chartwell chandeliers in black, each holding three lamps which are screw-in and easy to replace. They were made in the Alton factory to top specifications and look great. We already have three and five bulb versions of this product in our hallway and other rooms. So the new ones match.

The staff at Elstead are knowledgeable and easy to deal with. You cab park right outside so everything about this store is spot on.

I had to be dissuaded from taking up a great offer on a garden light. Perhaps on our next visit!

People who have read my other reviews know I am hard to please. I like things done right. Elstead Lighting do that and much more- they are the best.
