I recently bought a course from Elearn College on feature writing. It helped me a lot. The course was a fantastic tutorial which gave me the nuances of feature writing. I had been yearning to master the various aspects of feature writing and this course helped me a lot. Worth the penny! Thank you Elearn College.

I recently did the Bereavement and Grief ‘Diploma’ course! What a joke. The only reason I did it was because it cost £19.99 instead of £199. The grammar throughout all the modules was badly written; nothing appeared to be proof read and in fact my twelve year old daughter read it and could write better English than wot I read! (sic) There were hardly any references to look at and no further reading, which would have been offered on a genuine diploma course. No mention was made to the compulsory DBS/CRB Check which all people in such a job, working with vulnerable clients, would be required to have at the outset. The price has now returned to the original £199 which is not Diploma level price! To complete a Diploma does not take, at the very least, seven days! Don’t think you can become an accredited Grief and Bereavement counsellor simply by taking 10 modules which are self marked and have no tutor checking whether you are writing down the answers and repeating the questions simply to get 100% or near enough on every quiz. At the very least, there should be feedback opportunities throughout, which, again, a real course would offer. Spend your money wisely. It may be more expensive but at least you get a recognised qualification.

I found a cheap nutrition course online. I found Elearn to be very poor provider. Lacking in content which course said it had. Answers given at question stage, in part, for multipal choice questions. Poor customer service. Would not recommend. Will not use again

Dog Training Professional

You could no more step towards becoming a dog training professional by following this "course" than you could by reading a newspaper article on dog training. It is faulty in several aspects.

First, there are so many typos and grammatical issues I can only assume it was written by a non native English speaker.
Then the content is just a series of mumbling soundbites that contribute nothing to the business of dog training. It is a text only offering aimed at what is obviously a very much hands on practical skill set.

As an FE lecturer with a Cert Ed I think I can say that this course follows no accepted teaching methods for a practical subject and has absolutely no value at all.

The skills tests are a joke. They do do not test dog training skills but are rather a text comprehension assessment. Completely without educational value.

The content does not cover any business, accounting, nor legal aspects. I suspect the author knows nothing of UK business law nor of the animal welfare regulations.

The idea that someone could be in a position to teach dog agility after reading a short text on the subject with no practical element is just unbelievable.

£199? You are having a laugh.

This college does not offer real qualifications. It supposedly offers a marine biology diploma. A marine biology diploma takes about 600 hours to complete. What they offer is a hour skim through some very basic marine theory you could get free off the internet. This is followed by a 10 question multiple choice quiz a 10 year old could complete. Do not fall for this.

You cannot work as a podiatrist with this course

Online training in podiatry. Not only would it be illegal to practice, it would be downright dangerous. Would you do a £21 online course in dentistry?

This college sells a Foot Care Course that appears to qualify people to give foot treatments without any practical training.
This is totally irresponsible and downright dangerous. They are also using the word 'Podiatry' in the description which is misleading.
People should be aware that Podiatry training takes a 3 year f/t degree course with over 1,200 supervised clinical hours. It cannot be completed by distance learning.
Rest assured that the ASA have ben notified about this.
