We purchased a platinum sapphire engagement ring from Ebony in 2022. After 6 months it became apparent that what was sold as platinum, was actually white gold as the rhodium plating had started to wear. I took the ring back and it was sent off to be reset in platinum and I assumed all was well. Unfortunately this was not the case. In April, this year, I had the ring appraised at another jeweller and not only was the ring half platinum and half white gold (it had not been fully reset in platinum, merely the shank replaced) the sapphire, which was sold as a fine natural sapphire, was actually synthetic and worth a fraction of the price that we paid for it. Having gone back to Ebony, we were fobbed off time and time again. In the end we sought the advice of the bank in order to get a refund under Section 75. We did get a refund- but 6 weeks after the initial complaint was made. The whole experience was upsetting from start to finish, on what should have been an exciting and special purchase. Never again. I am sure Ebony will respond with a ‘we don’t know what you’re talking about’, as I have seen in other negative reviews. Proceed with caution. I will never buy from them again and would never recommend.

I've been visiting this wonderful place for over 25 years for valuations and to purchase items. The team are highly professional and extremely helpful. I will continue to visit in the future and it's always something to look forward to when visiting Chichester. Highly recommended! 10/10

Having spoken to whom i assumed to be the Manager / Owner a month ago, i asked if they could re-size and repair an antique Bronze Roman Seal Ring with a break in the side. No problem, probably about £50 but would need some images to provide an accurate quote. As i live in Gillingham, Kent i sent some images and further details to which i received an abrupt reply from Cian saying nothing more than "Sorry we can't resize this ring". No reason why, no suggestions, no explanation as to why i was previously told it could be done, no ideas as to where i might try, nothing. Perhaps it was a good omen.

I have a ring that was made for my 21st birthday by this jewellers, it’s beautifully made and I have taken it back a few times to be rhodium played again as it’s white gold. The service is fantastic from start to finish and great value for money. This ring has a lot of sentimental value to me as it’s 22 years old. Every single staff member is absolutely lovely and I would recommend them for any repairs or any questions about jewellery.

What a wonderful shop this is, family run, excellent help and service. Totally recommend this very professional, friendly Jewellers.
