Very bad
I came here for a simple fix: a new zirconium bridge made abroad that only required a minor occlusion adjustment—a quick fix—plus a minor cavity filling on another tooth.
A week before traveling to Tirana, I sent X-rays and clearly specified which tooth needed the adjustment. Sadly, everything went wrong:
- No water cooling: He ground my teeth completely dry. The dentists I later consulted confirmed this is a seriously damaging practice.
- Aggressive, wrong-site grinding: He ended up SHAVING 1 MILLIMETER off the WRONG TOOTH! To adjust a bite, you only remove a few microns, not this much (see pictures).
I sought second opinions from five other dentists—all were literally shocked, and none could offer a plausible explanation for what he was trying to achieve. Meanwhile, the tooth that actually needed the adjustment was barely touched.
He even acknowledged doing it intentionally...
- Ruined occlusion: He also ground down other areas of my mouth for reasons unknown. Now, my bite only meets at the front, with my molars barely making contact. Left unfixed, I have been informed that this can lead to TMJ/joint issues and severe long-term damage, which will be expensive to correct.
- Substandard quick-fix attempt: When I complained about the 1 mm gap he created, he had his assistant add composite to the opposite tooth to close it—a temporary patch job that even she admitted wouldn't last. When I told her the surface felt rough, she claimed it couldn't be polished. That was completely absurd; another dentist polished it properly in under two minutes.
At this point (only two visits), I had to stop. To his minor credit, he refunded the cost of the cavity filling that I paid for but he never performed.
I now face the possibility of having to replace
my brand new U$1,500 bridge ,on top of the water time and physical pain.
Fixing this destroyed occlusion will be even more costly and time consuming.
On top of everything, dealing with the psychological fallout has completely wrecked a trip I took on holiday.
