not encouraging and punishes harshly with degrading voice
fun mini games better than middle school math
I absolutely hate this website. i have used it for a year, and its so frustrating. i haven't learned ANYTHING. i have had to use this website/app for a year, and i am literally looking forward to next year when i don't have to use this anymore. it's not useful, extremely angering, and so useless. do not get this. it's not worth it. worst school/math program i have ever used.
delta math and khan academy are like heaven compared to this. that's how bad it is.
As a person who uses this, I am disgusted by this. If you don't know this is the same company that made reading plus. The lessons don't help you. Its complicated to sign in and you have to download the app to use the website - I think this only happened to me-
DreamBox is simpliy to worst game I have ever played. Delta Math seems fun compared to DreamBox. THIS GAME SUCKS. If your teacher asks you to play this, just say NO. Because it will permanently mess up your brain. This game makes you feel dumb because no answer is ever good enough. DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME.
dreambox is, quite simply, terrible. there is no progession, no fun, and every SINGLE lesson is either far too easy or hard. I HATE THIS GAME. i would rate 0 stars if i could.
I didn't learn anything. I used this site for a year, had to do 5 of each every week. The reading Plus made you sit down for 20 minutes to read, and then answer questions about what you learned. I don't remember a single important part in any of those assignments. It was so repetitive. DreamBox Math was the worst math work site I have been required to use in school. Assignments could take forever if you didn't know the math topic, and they would give little to no assistance. The voices on the website drove me nuts, and again, the assignments did not relate to anything I was learning, and I will never need to know how to perfectly fix cubes in a square in high school.
I don't recommend this if you have a choice, this website made me extremely frustrated.
DreamBox Learning Might be the Worst Educational Software Ever
My academically-gifted daughter gets consistently frustrated with DreamBox, and so do I. The main aspect of something like this, especially when presented in a game-ified format, is being able to play it. DreamBox fails on so many levels it's almost impressive how terrible it is. The interface doesn't snap to sections, so when it tells you to draw an object containing one angle with an X-degree angle, if it's not spot on, it doesn't register it as correct. That wouldn't be a big deal if it worked, but it's so imprecise, it becomes extremely difficult to accurately get it to register that it's right.
This interface lack of functionality persists throughout many games, but it's dwarfed by the terrible instructions. Ostensibly in an effort to simplify the instructions, it gives users the bare minimum amount of guidance it can possibly offer. However, again, that leads to a frustrating experience wherein users are blindsided by the software's expectations.
If I licensed this software for a school, I'd cancel that contract. It is awful, not recommended at all, and is a consistent source of frustration.
I used Dreambox in school, and nobody liked it. The voice is monotonous, the problems are boring, and the curriculum overall isn't adaptive. Sometimes, it tells you your answer was wrong even though it was correct.
The instructions very extremely confusing and it looks like it was made in 1980 it made my my daughter got placed in a fourth Grade level because the instructions were so confusing even though and everything else with the subject she’s on a sixth grade learning level
Started strong, but then it stalled. My daughter liked it the first week, but after that, it became a struggle to get her to log in. Content feels too slow-paced and doesn't adjust well to her level. Might work for some, but didn’t for us.
Honestly, I wanted to like it more. Signed up hoping it would support my son's math confidence, but he found it confusing at times. Some instructions weren’t clear, and progress tracking felt vague. Not a total loss, but not what we were hoping for.
We tried For our 2nd grader after hearing good things, but it just didn’t click. The visuals were decent, but the lessons felt repetitive and not adaptive enough. She got bored pretty quickly. For the price, we expected something a bit more engaging.
I have not used this app, but from what I hear from my sister and fellow teacher friends, this is what they think: The lessons are often way too difficult for the students age range, and the way you have to go through steps can be too difficult for visual learners. It forces you to go through each step in the lesson in order for you to complete it. In order to get a full grade, atleast at my sister's school, you have to complete all five "lessons" per week, which is difficult as it removes the lessons you find easy and replaces them with lessons that are incredibly more advanced for your grade. The only good thing about this app is the customization of the backround and person icon. "Even so, that was mid at best." My sisters entire grade hated this app for more reasons, but she refuses to go down the rabbitfall of how this app made her feel. Do better, dookie app.
Dreambox...just don't use it. It is boring for students (trust me, I used Dreambox as a student from kindergarten to 5th grade), and it will give students questions that are too hard, which is very frustrating. Nobody I knew liked Dreambox, either. A good idea for Dreambox is, surprisingly, to NOT let students exit questions. This lets them leave a lesson because they are having a hard time, and Dreambox can't register it. Another improvement they can make is to not force students to use interactive models they aren't comfortable with (this was a HUGE problem for me, as I am not a visual learner and strongly prefer straight-up "solve this!"). But don't lose hope because Dreambox isn't very good - there are many better math program options than Dreambox that I have enjoyed!
cool website for teachers
Not reccomended to use obv
It’s really easy to learn math and read using dreambox if i didn’t use this then i would never know how great this is!
