I have always found the team to be unfailingly polite, knowledgeable, and helpful. They have even been times when I have raised a query late in the evening or on the weekends when, to my astonishment, it has been resolved by a member of the team who is obviously keeping an eye on the inbox!

I don’t expect this level of service out of hours, but I think it underlines how seriously the team take their responsibility to help investors and to clear up any problems as quickly and as efficiently as they can.

I’m an IFA and whilst I can’t recommend IFISA products as they are not currently regulated, I’m happy to report that I’ve had very positive outcomes with a range of Downing Investments over the last few years. I’ve been very impressed by actions taken by them to recoup capital and interest when the unforeseen has occurred. I shall continue to use them for some of my ISA investments for the forseeable future.

I had a career in the City and am naturally sceptical of anyone wanting to sell me an investment. Over the past five years or so my wife and I have made a dozen or more investments through Downing and I have no complaints. They are easy to communicate with. Whenever I have had questions about details of a deal they have answered them. They don't generally offer sufficient initial information about deals for me - but I am a professional - but if asked for the detail they provide it. They also seem to manage their investments and look out for potential problems and try to deal with them. Well done! I'm happy to continue to back their deals.

I have found Downing to be very reliable and their papers well researched. So far all my investments with them have had returns in line with expectations although I recognise that they are not risk free. My only criticism is the delay in producing tax certificates last year but I believe they have now sorted this out going forward.

We have used Downing Crowd for several years. When searching for a higher yield on medium-term investments I was attracted by the long-established Downing name. Their higher-interest crowdfunding service has served us well, both through their standard, and the tax-efficient IFISA portfolios. Yields for bonds with a life between one and five years have ranged between 5% and 8%. We have not used Downing’s shorter-term schemes.
If they have no suitable product available for investors then Downing Crowd do not seem to lower their criteria, but instead wait until a potential borrower matches their standards. If a borrower’s circumstances change Downing managers will alert us promptly. Bonds are normally secured, usually over property or other assets. The risks are set out clearly in the prospectus.
Occasionally there has been a minor snag when investing via their online platform but an email to Downing results in a speedy resolution. I have recommended them to friends.

The products offered by Downingcrowd are clearly carefully researched, and provide realistically achievable returns. Their readiness to accept even modest investments makes them an option all savers could reasonably consider in the current low interest rate environment. The website is clear and easy to use.

I can't recommend Downing highly enough, I had no prior knowledge of investing before contacting them and had approached similar companies to try and understand the process. The information provided is simple and thorough so that when I have invested I've not only been confident in the company, but also my understanding of what I'm investing in.

I have invested a lot through them - 10 or more investments. They communicate well. My only slight criticism is that you have to push to get detailed financial info on some of the borrowers - but I did use to be a banker...
