Watch out for discovery k12. They will charge you even if you don't use their site and rip you off! Their curriculum sucks anyway. If you don't use it and don't sign up for the next year, they will still charge you. The site is terrible and so is the mediocre lessons.

If you need your child set on a path for their current grade while also using other curriculums and be involved as a teacher, I suggest this site. The upgrade for the parent account is up to you but from my experience the grades or attendance do not save, and you will have to manually write down everything as a backup. There was not a limit to the household school age kids on the account and I govern 10. You must be able to be heavily involved in your child's learning and not put them on autopilot. You have the ability to create your child's transcripts to keep up with everything and submit them if you decide to move your child to or back to public school. It's more rewarding when you are able to keep track and have that peace of mind! Educational neglect is real and as a parent I strive to ensure my children have the proper education. I pair dk12.com or discoveryk12.com with other curriculum to also ensure I am meeting my state standards. The website is laid out for you so it's not bad even if some aspects of the website are faulty with a paid upgrade. I can say that other programs may be better curriculum wise but may cost you more. If you're on a budget and not a stickler, then this will work for you. I got in on the special $99 per family instead of $99 per child. The pta email is very responsive but as far as fixing the website issues, I've given up on that because the school year is over in early June. I may use the paid upgrade again.

This Homeschool is mediocre at best. They put your payment on auto-renew and do not send out renewal notices. The website says you have 14 days to get a refund but will not hold up their end of the deal when you ask for a refund the same day it's taken. They are a merchant through PayPal but break PayPal rules and their own. This business is unethical and doesn't care about the people paying for their product, there are many other ethical businesses out there with you and your family's needs in mind. Don't get caught in a money grabbing trap like us! After reviewing their BBB profile this is happened to multiple people and they have yet to fix this on their end in order for it not to happen again.

Daughter's friend living with us is signed up with this program, (her mom signed her up Junior year). She is a senior now and we tried to access her grade book and transcript. They asked for payment and of course we paid because we need her transcripts for college. Paid the money and NO access to grades or transcripts. The button to upgrade is still there as if we never paid. They finally responded via email, (there is NOT a phone number to call).They said her mom had to open the parent portal and pay through that portal. We did that and still NO ACCESS to grades or transcripts and the button to upgrade is still lit up. I have requested refund but no reply by email. I'm so frustrated. This is such a scam. Do NOT use them. Use 'K12" but NOT "Discovery K12". Sounds very similar and I feel they are taking advantage of people. "K12" is a fantastic program with a phone and online help and a great program. "DK12" or Discovery K12" is a complete scam.

This is exactly what I as a homeschool mom was looking for. I appreciate someone taking the time to put this together and offer it for free to students. It definitely makes my life a bit easier. We add to the curriculum or adapt it to where my student is at. The layout is very nice and easy to use and understand.

$99 for a program we aren't using!
Discovery k12 is cool for giving your child busy work, but isn't worth the $99 we spent on it. Especially when that $99 is recurring and there's no way to cancel it on their site. You have to cancel through PayPal and God forbid you don't catch it before it comes out. They tell you it can't be refunded because it's a recurring fee. They only offer a refund within 14 days of the initial purchase.

I really hate that I didn't catch the cancellation before they snatched it out of my account. They don't even send a courtesy email stating that the payment is about to come out. You'd think that if your kid isn't using the program, they'd know you aren't using it either.

They need to have an annual enrollment and if you don't re-enroll or if your child doesn't login for 2 weeks, that means they are no longer in the program. They also need to send out a renewal reminder like most decent companies. As well as make it easier to contact them.

This online school will do nothing for your child but keep them back a year from learning. There is little to no testing. The math program does nothing to help them understand. There is no way to keep track of what your child has done and no feedback on progress or what needs more work. Buyer beware, the 99 dollars is recurring. When I realized this it was too late. They will only refund the initial payment within 14 days. This is a scrupulous company and are only in it for the money. Do not subscribe. You and your child will regret it.

They had my sons account mixed with another student unrelated to us. They charged me 99$ a year to get a parent account that was hard to use. This $99 dollars was also set on auto pay without my knowledge. The only thing it did was give my son something to do while we were searching for a better program. Communication with they only by email and takes along time for them to respond.

I found that the parent account that costs $99 is useless. I wasn't informed of recurring charges or warned it was about to happen and they refused a refund in a program I am not even using. Poor customer service.

I would rate this an A- site. With a few limitations, it offers good features for free or at the cost of $99 to attach a parent profile to the student's free profile. The record-keeping for grades is really good. It helps parents keep up with attendance and work. We use this as supplemental.
