Everyone I have spoken to has been extremely professional and has answered every question without making myself feel stupid when I'm new to certain products. Could not recommend them more, really happy with their service!

These guys really are pros. The product I ordered wasn't in stock. So I got a phone call with options and advice. I changed my mind and that was fine.

In February I purchased a (reputable brand - SanDisk) substantial drive from Datastores. Installed OK - sort of - couldn't ever get it turn on when the Mac was turned on. This is the main attached external drive, every other combination I've had like this over the (many) years, the drivee always comes on. This one has to be turned on manually, and then no guarantee that it will either stay on or be recognised by the (high spec) Mac.
Informed Datastores about this at the start. They made sugestions of a replacement, but those suggestions were never more than that, no positive commitment. Just a 'fob-off' And again, and again, and again....
An expensive bit of kit which operates well when it's (agreed to stay) on, but lacking one key aspect of what every such drive should do - turn on witj the attached computer.
Datastores are just not interested. explained that this drive is 'not fit for purpose' - they just ignore that. Do I want to go down the legal route? Not really but for an item of this outlay, I think that I am getting to the point where I have no other option. Eager to sell, less than eager to resolve any problem issues with what was purchased.

UPDATE - big change. Response and action. Contrary to what was understood earlier this model does not turn on with the computer. It is going back, a different make and model is on its way and - I hope - it will turn on in the same way that every other dive I've owned has - when the Mac is turned on. We'll see, but the response from Datastores, eventually excellent....

I dealt with Damien and Patrizia, and both were extremely helpful. Damien explained, and e mailed a number of technical answers I needed, as I didn't really understand about RAID, and the different models of SSD external drives. I ended up buying an OWC drive, got a good price, and they formatted it for me! All I had to do was plug it in and it works great. It has speeded up Video editing 100 times, compared with my old drives. Also can add to them later (daisy chain) if I run out of TB. Thanks DataStores.. incidentally I used to buy Ampex 456, 2" tape from these people in the 1980s !! so they have been around a long time, and know what they're doing. Thanks.

I ordered a external hard-drive online having previously purchased items from the company on two occasions. The reason I am a repeat customer is that I have always received a great service from Datastores. Within a few minutes of placing the order I received a call from Ollie advising that the item would not be in stock until the Friday. The Drive was delivered swiftly and as I had requested had been formatted for Windows operating system. Another great service from all of the team at Datastores.

I've experienced many different scammy sales tactics but this one definitely tops it. I was about to buy an item on their website for £320 but called the store to see if they had it in stock. Got through Damien T and he offered £280 if I went through him so I accepted, but then he sent me a payment link for £340. So I decided to go back to the website and the price increased to £380. Contacted Damien and he said the price had increased in that one hour since we talked, absolute joke. Bare in mind this item sells on other website for £325.

Bought a reel of tape from these guys and it arrived in under 24 hours. Spoke to a member of staff on the phone who was very helpful. Brilliant shop and an important one to have around in the modern age.
