Automatically Subscribed.....

Had notification off my bank this morning to say there were insufficient funds to pay Direct Debt to these. Didn't recognise the subscription.

Contacted Cyber Sentry Global about the subscrpition and saying I wanted to unsubscribe. Had email back explained was automatically subscribed after a one month free trial (wasn't even aware I had a free trial) and that was automatic subscription when selling phone to WE BUY ANY PHONE. And for. £10,99 email fee they'd send me an email to explain how to unsubscribe.

Contacted my bank, stopped the Direct Debit and they made a claim for me under the terms of the Direct Debt Indemnity Scheme. Result refunded the amount taken.

Never signed up for this crap yet they were taking £14.95 for a good few months of me. The cheek of it in this day and age to randomly setup direct debits and scam all of us.

SCAM!!

100% scam, just like everybody else I used webuyanyphone to get a valuation and within a couple of months, they started to charge me £9.95, finally got in touch with one of their customer service people and informed me that I had signed unto a subscription or some bs like that only for them to tell me the monthly cost was £4.95. So if it's £4.95 why the hell have they been charging me £9.95 every month? Their representative simply gave me some useless bot answer and didn't even address the fact that they were charging me £9.95 despite giving me breakdown saying it was £4.95 a month. DO NOT trust these scammer.
P.S cybersentry, if you are seeing this don't bother replying, I have been going through the reviews and you keep putting the same bs reply to everyone.
Guess I'm done for now.

Been taking payments since august 24 just been looking at my bank statements all I did was enquire about selling I phone didn’t authorise these direct debits you have no right scammers I didn’t sell my phone I’ve still got it so why have u taken the money been in touch with my bank and got a full refund surly all these reviews on hear Carnt be wrong !

SCAM!!!

Scam

Just like David (reviewer below),
I had my phone valued by we buy any phone. And without my knowledge or permission they signed me up to Cybersentry monthly subscriptions.
I only realized today and the bank has refunded the money.
I do not know the link between them and we buy any phones. Please AVOID using we buy any phone altogether.

Totally fraudulent!
I gave my bank details to receive a valuation for my old mobile through we buy any phone and without my knowledge and permission these scammers have signed me up to a Cyber Sentry subscription without my consent/authorisation. My bank have cancelled and are taking the money back. They have also been reported to the FCA. The owners of this company should go to prison for fraud !!! It’s a scam !!!

I never agreed to any trial why would I? I would never want this service.... total scam and my back has now refunded the money you dishonestly took.. no emails to warn of this, and no notice of taking money or setting up a DD. avoid this company and avoid we buy any phone.

If this company has done the same to you, just contact your bank to advise you did not authorise the DD

AVOID SCAMMERS- LINKED TO WEBUYANYPHONE

Looked at trading in my phone with webuyanyphone mid last year. Woke up this morning to a £15 DD set up by Cybersentry that is linked to webuyanphone. Nearly a year later used my details to set up a direct deit without my permission!!! Shocking

Looking at a timescale, your free month would have been from August - September. The first 5 months would have been charged at £6.95 and then £14.95 thereafter, starting in March.

Set up an account without my permission…

Set up an account without my permission and webuyanyphone shared my payment details with this company. There is NO WAY TO CANCEL the £7 they’re taking me from me per month. This is against GDPR and data protection and I will be reporting this fraudulent company.

*UPDATE*
The BBC’s watch dog has published a report on this fraudulent activity for 100’s of customers this week. I have reported the company as a data breach.

Webuyanyphone are to be avoided. Scam artists setting direct debits without your consent

As others have said, I do not know if this company, nor have I authorised any service from them for money.

Yet I have noticed they have setup a direct debit that I did not give consent to, for the amount of £6.99.

Fortunately HSBC who I bank with, allow you to request a refund then cancel the direct debit.

I was thinking to myself, maybe I signed up for a legit service, but in their terms and conditions, they had a sneaky clause in there saying you will get signed up to this cyber sentry (whatever that is), until you cancel. Apparently they never issue refunds, and I will never use nor recommend, that shitty phone website again….

Disgusting practices from whichever phone recycling place I used. Quite a few people have mentioned the company webuyanyphone, and I found the following info all over the internet.

Disgusting and fraudulent

Disgusting and fraudulent! Criminals

Set up a direct debit without my consent. This was after selling my phone to webuyanyphone.com
There was no mention that my bank details would be shared with another company. A company owned by the SAME people as webuyanyphone. They dont offer refunds.
Its a complete disgrace and criminal act to do this with people's bank details.

I was recommended Cybersentry by Onecom…

I was recommended Cybersentry by Onecom so assumed that i was getting a decent and secure service. I wrote to then to ask exactly what services they provided prior to a trip abroad as I wanted to ensure my phone was safe. They simply stopped my direct debit and did not respond. They have not responded to further emails. i have paid them money for 5 years for this crap service. Don't touch them with a bargepole.

MASSIVE SCAM

MASSIVE SCAM - DO NOT USE WEBUYANYPHONE

I sold my broken phone to webuyanyphone for £130, upon receiving my phone they changed my offer to £0 due to the fact it was broken. Even though I sold it as broken. A few weeks later I see a £6.95 charge has left my account for CyberSentry. Can see from other reviews this is clearly what they do. I’ve cancelled the DD and lucky I noticed straight away!

Scam through webuyanyphone

Like all the others here, I sold my old mobile through webuyanyphone.com and was signed up for a "trial" to CyberSentry. I didn't agree to the trial, and was alarmed to discover that my bank details were passed from one company to the other without my consent. I have cancelled the direct debit.

I note that the company has not responded to any of these reviews.

Same experience as everyone here… got my money back

Same as everyone else on here… tried to sell a phone on webuyanyphone. They offered much less money than quoted for a phone, so got my phone back.
WeBuyAnyPhone is a scam company, they pay way less than their quote and sell our data to other companies who charges for their service without our authorisation.
