After a number of personal recommendations we visited Cookhouse to discuss fitting our new kitchen. The showroom was so impressive that we initially thought the cost would be beyond our budget.
However, Jane Bedingham, senior designer made us (and our dog) feel very welcome and put us at ease whilst we discussed our requirements. They were lots of options on display to inform our design choices.
Jane agreed to draw up some plans and detailed quotations for us to review.
The thought that went into the kitchen was incredible with both form and function considered! We were so delighted with the plans that we asked Jane to design our utility room as well.
The price for the quality of the units was excellent value.
Jane continued to work with us to finalise the design and final colour choices. She maintained contact right through the whole process and visited us to make sure her measurements were accurate before placing the order and after installation to make sure we were entirely happy. Both her design and her customer service were outstanding! We are delighted with our kitchen and utility room and would not hesitate to recommend Cookhouse and particularly Jane Bedingham.

Jane, the designer, considered all our needs and incorporated them into the design. She was very informative on how to use the appliances and kept us informed when work would start and which tradesmen would be working on what days. Liam, the fitter, worked professionally and was very polite and friendly.
As for the finished kitchen, we love it! The quality is so good and the finished result is even better than we could have hoped for.
I would not hesitate to recommend Cookhouse to anyone wanting a quality kitchen at an affordable price and with expert design and fitting.

We have recently moved to York to a house in need of some tlc and are so pleased to have found Cookhouse to replace the kitchen. The project wasn’t straightforward as the floor needed levelling. Dominic came up with both a great design and a very accurate plan, as well as organising all the trades. Everyone arrived on time and did an amazing job and we are thrilled with the result. The kitchen units look lovely and they will last a long time. Thank you to everyone for their skill and hard work: Iain the builder, Jordan the plumber, Gary the electrician, Shawn the plasterer, Lee the fitter, Lee the floor fitter and, of course, Dominic whose calm and reassuring presence meant we never worried. This relationship with Cookhouse had a gentle start. The house that we now live in came about when a relative of ours passed away, and unbeknown to us she had left her house to us in her will. Hence the house chose us. We decided that we would live in it, but before we did we decided that we would have a complete new kitchen. Cookhouse was on the route from our then house when we walked to the City centre, so we often looked at what they were doing . Like many people we looked around several kitchen companies mostly on industrial estates around our City of York. We decided fairly quickly to approach Cookhouse where we met Dominic. We were fortunate, in terms of what was available and on display. We were fairly clear on how we wanted to have our kitchen and dining area. After our initial meeting, we were clear on what we wanted. Dominic arranged to come to our house to look at the old kitchen and the space in the place. He gave several suggestions on the location of the parts. We then had a further meeting with him where he showed us the plans and the design of it all on the computer. The rest was history, we signed up and work started , everything worked very well , we had a deadline to move in the November . I have to say all the tradesmen were there at the right time , and all the parts came at the right time. The tradesmen were very professional with everything they were doing. We were able to move into the house on the expected date. We have ended up with a lovely kitchen and dining area. I would not hesitate to recommend Dominic and his team at Cookhouse, not just for the design but also the Logistics of it.

We approached three different companies for our new kitchen, but Cookhouse really stood out. Jane Bedingham is a fantastic designer - she really listened to what we wanted, produced a great design, and then went through it carefully to find areas where we could cut costs to bring it well within our tight budget, while still being a very functional and beautiful kitchen.
The fitter that Cookhouse organised (YKD) was brilliant too - friendly, neat and tidy, and very skilled.

5 star star service from start to finish from CookHouse. When we moved house a year ago and knew that we would be changing the kitchen there was no question about where we would go. Dominic and his team had designed and installed our previous kitchen in our old house.

When I first met with Dominic on the design of this recent kitchen he could not have been more helpful or informative. He provided us with all the expert advice we needed. He was thorough and detailed throughout the process, accommodated the changes we made, even at the last minute. Dominic fully guided us through the process and what an end result we now have, it’s better than we could have imagined.

The process from design ideas to installation has been seamless, managed by Dominic, and with the appointment of first class tradesmen, we cannot recommend highly enough. Lee, the kitchen fitter, worked with such precision and attention to detail, helped us to make decisions and guided us throughout. All the tradesmen were excellent, Shawn who did the plastering, Garry the electrician and Jordan the plumber. All went above and beyond. We are absolutely delighted with the final product. Best decision we made was to go to Cookhouse. First class service, first class team and first class kitchen.

The team that did the installation (Lee, Gary, Jordan and Shawn) were all fantastic, each one of them going above and beyond what we expected. Jane at Cookhouse was excellent and really listened and understood about how we would use the space in our new extension, as well as the look we wanted to achieve. Dominic and his team of tradesmen surpassed all our expectations. From our initial visit to the showroom, the on-site survey, guidance through the multiple choices to the final installation.

I was particularly impressed by the fact that the carcasses arrived protected and ready assembled, minimising any potential damage or delay. The whole project ran over 30 days, as programmed and with no delays.
Finally a mention for the tradesmen - they were all punctual, polite, skilful and professional.
