This comparison site was recommended by a cruise blogger and was the first I entered my details into for quotes. However, I spent the rest of the day also checking out other comparison sites and individual cruise travel insurance companies and at the end of a very stressful day I came back to Compare Your Cruise and took out a policy with them that suited my needs. As a first time cruiser who was confused about what I needed to ensure was included in my policy I found the layout was easier to understand and compare. Could have saved myself hours of time and frustration had I just stuck with this comparison site.

Good value standalone cruise specific cover.
We had been searching for cruise insurance but many companies also included standard travel insurance with the policy as well. As we already had good policies we felt like we were paying twice. We discovered compare your cruise insurance and were delighted to get quotes for just the specific cruise that we were going on. We are not regular cruise goers therefore having an annual policy was not economical. We found the website easy to use and as older traveller's with a few health issues we were pleasantly surprised at the good value options we were given. All quotes were quickly emailed to us and we studied all the levels of cover until we found one that suited our purposes. After purchase all the policy documents were emailed to us. Hopefully we won't have any cause to make a claim but we can go on holiday with peace of mind.

Comparison web sites are not always best
I tried various compare sites for cruise travel insurance, but the best site was Viva Cruise Insurance who did not appear on the comparison sites but only directly to them. They knew exactly the details of which cruise I had booked and provided the best price. I would give them 5 stars *****

Just to clarify, when you get a quote on our site, we then transfer you to the insurer’s website to complete your purchase, as we don’t take payment or issue policy documents ourselves.
When you select a quote, we securely pass across the details you’ve entered — including your cruise information and any medical conditions you’ve declared. That’s why the provider already has your details when you arrive on their site.

Automated countries to be visited.
This is the first time I have used this comparison site and found the preloading of countries to be visited after entering cruise and ship details most useful. When previously arranging cruise cover I had not identified countries to be visited and now wonder if there may have been a problem if I had to make a claim!
