Howden Emp Ben & Wellbeing T/A Right to Health sold me a Aviva Health insurance policy. For the period 2024-2025.
I was under the impression that I was fully covered., but I was not!.
In March 2025 I was diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis and recommended by my osteopath to seek consultation from a Mr Alexander Montgomery a leading and highly respected orthopaedic surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic in London.
He proposed surgery, Decompression of the Spinal Stenosis.
My claim for the cost of the hospitalisation and surgery of £11,492.00 was refused by Aviva stating the Mr Montgomery was not on their list of preferred consultants. I took this up with Howden who accepted that they probably did not fully explain the details of the policy they sold me.
Consequently I funded the successful operation myself.
