Compare Ferries Bewertungen 

Had to cancel a booking due to family illness. Have been waiting patiently for 6 weeks now 😢 every time I call I’m told that Compare Ferries are waiting for a refund from P&O and when they get refunded then we will. Legally my contract of sale is with Compare Ferries and not P&O. I’ve sent emails, made calls and am getting nowhere 😢
Is this company legitimate?
Anybody else had issues?

Easy to deal with.plus cheaper than some other apps

They did not communicate the option to review or select seats when booking for the first class lounge. Arrived onboard to find 4 seats (including 1 for a child) allocated on separate tables. They stated this wasn’t their responsibility but it was either an automated process which filled up empty seats, or their random approach to split up 4 people travelling together, but either way we had no option to review or change the seats. Now awaiting a response to my complaint. I will only ever book directly with the ferry company in future.

Unhelpful customer service agent. Spam adverts on the website tricking you into handing over credit card data. They dont colect APIS details in advance of travel - potentially jeopardising travel. There is no added value to using this service and its a lot of hassle. I had to contact the ferry operator DFDS directly to submit APIS.

Easy booking process, all went smoothly, and cheaper than booking direct with DFDS.

It was easy to book online and I then needed to provide a different e-mail address, so I spoke on the phone to very knowledgeable and helpful agent who sorted the issue.

What terrible customer service, due to a family emergency I had to fly to Malaysia where my son was ill. I new that I wouldn't be able to make my dover to calais sailing on the 30th Apr so I requested to move that to 7th May which was accepted as ok but would cost me an extra £49 which would have been OK but then it became clear that this date wouldn't be possible either so on the 28th Apr I emailed customer service to say that the 7th wasn't possible so could I choose a later date but still return to the UK on the 7th June as planned. Customer Service responded that unless I amended by 30th I would be able to amend the outbound journey but failed to mention that I'd also lose my return trip, what's that all about , sharp practice and crap customer service that's what. I was resigned to having to pay for a new outbound trip but why should I lose both, because compare ferries are in control that's why. I certainly won't touch them with a barge pole in future not that it will make a difference but hopefully as there's other sites people will follow my lead.

Anna in Newcastle office went beyond the call of duty to assist me with my on line booking; She has excellent Customer Service Skills and any organisation would be proud to have her; I have already reccomended to work colleagues to try booking ferries by contacting Compare Ferries. Compare ferries and P&O ferries do the absolute minimum. At no point throughout my experience did I feel that the customer was of any value. The entire Dover experience was very poor. Not sure that compare ferries adds anything to the experience other than to act as a front for a shabby ferry company.
