Use extreme caution dealing here

Use extreme caution dealing here, sales person nice as could be in store, all good will earned the day before quickly disappeared upon delivery. there is suddenly a fee for them to install which was never discussed, don't even think about taking them up on their price match guarantee they do not honour it.

I went to Coast Appliance Edmonton West looking for fridge. Wilma spent a lot of time with me, I had a list of needs. She found me the fridge I wanted. She had to call Calgary store and sweet talk them. That was yesterday, it will be in my home tomorrow morning.

Upon reaching out to Coast Appliances…

Upon reaching out to Coast Appliances in Winnipeg, on December 2nd, 2025. the salesperson Yoyo was very happy to accommodate us.

Yes they could get the product we wanted within the timeframe required, yes they would deliver, yes they would take our present unit away and yes they would have qualified installers. It all sounded perfect and we placed the order on December 4th, 2025.

The order took longer than anticipated, they delivered, but the installers were not qualified- as I was assured they would be. They did take the old microwave away.

We then had a qualified company come to install the Bosch OTR microwave. Upon opening the box, the unit was visibly damaged in numerous places.

Right away, we called Sherri, who is the manager of Coast. It then took 27 days to receive a full refund. She was a complete nightmare to deal with. I was given every excuse under the sun... she would have to come and get it herself, she had broken her foot recently, she would have to forego her grocery shopping to do the pick up, their Moneris system was down, she didn't feel well, etc. I was stunned by her lack of customer service and professionalism! If she had worked for me, she would have been fired many times over.

We never had any communication with the desperate little sales person, once she had made the sale.

From the purchase to the refund was 50 days of phone calls, emails, absolute frustration and hours that were wasted.

It was not until I reached out to the CEO in BC that we then saw a refund. UNACCEPTABLE.

I GIVE THEM A MINUS 10 RATING AND WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE WASTING THEIR TIME OR MONEY AT COAST APPLIANCE, when we have professional local companies in Winnipeg, that understand the value of customer service and professionalism.

Regarding our recent purchase of a floor model steam-convection oven from Coast Appliances in Vancouver.

Upon delivery, we discovered that the oven was missing its wire rack. We immediately contacted the salesperson, Mrs. Bahar Azizpour, who initially advised us that she would order a replacement rack from the manufacturer. After receiving no updates for approximately one month, we followed up with her. At that point, she changed her position and stated that the oven was a floor model and had been sold “as is.”

This information was never disclosed to us during the purchasing process, nor was it mentioned in any of our prior discussions. When we requested clarification regarding this sudden change, we unfortunately received no response.

As a result, we contacted the district manager, Mr. Jesse Pilkington, who assured us that he would personally look into the matter. We understand that the oven model had been discontinued and that sourcing the appropriate part presented challenges. Despite these difficulties, Mr. Pilkington demonstrated exceptional professionalism, diligence, and commitment throughout the process. He dedicated significant time and effort to addressing our concerns and ensured the matter was handled with care and accountability.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Mr. Pilkington for his outstanding customer service. His approach reflects the level of professionalism customers hope to receive, and we believe it sets an excellent example for others in management roles.

Shop anywhere else!!!

I would give zero stars if that was an option. We were delivered a malfunctioning fridge. I reported the problem to Coast the next day and was told that once it's out of the box, it's not their problem anymore and they're not going to help us - despite their website saying that within the first 30 days to contact their own service department. The sales manager is rude and unhelpful, despite lots of verbal guarantees of things she would do, nothing was done. I was then forwarded to someone in Escalations who has since stopped replying to any of my emails. I was then contacted by the store manager - not because of the Escalations team or the sales manager, but because I gave them a bad score in their Customer Satisfaction survey. The store manager made promises a full week ago and there has been no follow-through. He also has not replied to a single email. He guaranteed that someone would contact me the same day that we spoke about replacing my broken fridge ... unsurprisingly, no one has contacted me since then. Do not shop here!! I am now in week 3 of owning a broken fridge that, after a lot of arguing, Coast has said they would replace and then completely ignored me.

Very dissatisfied with the service

Very dissatisfied with the service. I ordered an electric coil stove online as that is what was best for cooking requirements. When the stove came, the coils had a safety feature that do not allow the maximum temperature to stay consistent. There is a sensor that drops the temperature down once a maximum temperature is reached. This makes cooking extremely ineffective as a consistent temperature is not maintained and it takes much longer to do anything.
I contacted Coast Appliances and was told that I could not return or exchange this brand new stove because it was a special order as it was ordered online (I did not note a "special order" anywhere online when I ordered) - moreover, they said that my only option was to purchase a new stove as all the coils from 2018 onwards are produced like this. They basically said that the sensi temp coils were mentioned on the website (I went back under features and checked and it did not state this), and also that I had plugged the stove in to test it, nothing further could be done.
I will not recommend to anyone and please avoid the hassel of online purchases for appliances so you don't find yourself in the same boat!

If your appliance, and delivery is not plug and play avoid Coast

Ordered a fridge through my appliance repair company, they use Coast Appliances. It’s a difficult delivery, stairs and railings have to be removed. I’m being billed $789 for the delivery and I will need to hire a handyman to remove the stairs and railings.

Fridge was ordered at the end of September. Ten days after the 4- 6 week estimate, I call for the status. Was told the fridge would be in Vancouver on December 20.

Get this text on December 21

“Hi Your delivery request has been received and is scheduled to arrive on Dec 23 between 07:35 AM and 10:35 AM. Click on the following link for more information on how to prepare for your delivery.”

Immediately call the repair company because it’s the only number I have and say that I’m not prepared to take the delivery. She said the supervisor is not in and will call me on Monday.

Monday I get a call from Coast saying they’ll arrive in 1/2 hour. I said I canceled the delivery through the repair company. 10 minutes later, get another call from Coast. I tell him the same thing.

Twenty minutes later Frank from Coast calls. I tell him I canceled the delivery on Saturday because I had to hire someone to remove the stairs. A handyman on short notice, 2 days before Christmas is not easy. I asked who I should talk to to reschedule the delivery and he said to reschedule through him.

Find a handyman and call Frank daily from January 6th to 9th. No reply. On January 10th I ask the tech who does my appliance servicing to intervene. Someone calls me and tells me that they are on it.

January 14th I was told that the fridge was sent back to ??? and they have asked for another one expedited. It will take a month +.

All along I told everyone that I couldn't take the delivery on Monday December 23, Including the supervisor Frank. The repair company said that Coast thought I CANCELED THE FRIDGE. Was Frank asleep when I talked to him? I guess so.

Raj from Coast takes over, apologises profusely and will try to expedite. Fridge finally arrives and is scheduled for delivery on February 14th. For the past 6 months, I’ve had to deal with rotting food in a 50ºF fridge and I’m looking forward to a new fridge.

I explain to Raj that I will have to remove some of the stairs and he says not to. Here is his email:

- Based on the video submitted to us, and the measurements made, seems adequate for
delivery.
- Please don’t take out the staircase steps – not required as advised by our carrier.
- Despite all due diligence, please note it is indeed a complex delivery.
- It may go wrong – keeping my fingers crossed.

I asked if there was a plan B. He replied:

“The delivery team I am sending are specialists, they have been with us for over 40 years, they will explore any other possibilities, when at the place, if the options are safe and do not contravene WCB safety regulations.”

So, there is no Plan B. They arrive, walk around, and take measurements. As I fearfully expected, the fridge can’t get up the stairs. I ask them to take it back since it’s still in the truck.
Hire a piano moving company and coordinate delivery with Raj. This went smoothly and cost $2000.

Ask Raj to take the complex delivery charge off bill. He said it was the repair company. They talk to Raj. It’s now $349 because of “side-swipe removal”? Never happened. A normal delivery charge from the Coast website is $150. I point out that the delivery was not complex. A fridge was put on the sidewalk and another was put on a truck.

Raj comes back with a pile of blah. First it was side swipe, now it’s “extra delivery”? I’m quite happy that I will never have to deal with Coast again and of course I will tell everyone I know about the incredibly poor experience.

TLDR; If your appliance and delivery is not plug and play or requires more brain power than a worm has, don’t deal with Coast. If you enjoy 6 months of BS, frustration, and a barely working fridge that rots food, you won’t be disappointed by Coast Appliances. They excel at poor service.

A terrible experience

A terrible experience. Purchased a complete kitchen (oven, microwave, cooktop, fridge, dishwasher, range hood), and the third-party delivery crew used by Coast Appliances ruined the brand new flooring (installed in the week before the delivery). They took almost a month to verify the damages (even though I had submitted several pictures on the day of delivery) and the delivery company did not acknowledge the damages.

Additionally, Coast Appliances failed to take responsibility for the company they hired for the delivery, claiming "it's a third-party, there's nothing we can do, and that I should go after them yourself".

Very unprofessional company and DO NOT RECOMMEND Coast Appliances to anyone.

Update to the review, their automated reply is just for show, as their team responded once and never got back to me.

Poor customer service at North Van location of Coast Appliances

I bought a GE laundry center at the North Vancouver location of Coast Appliances through Ivania Delgado. When I did my first load of laundry, it was very loud and was rocking back and forth. I took a video of it and showed it to some salesmen at Coast and one of them asked me if I was washing bricks. Ivana was off that day but they put in a support ticket for me. I never heard from anyone again regarding having it fixed, so I told them I wanted to return it. They ended up charging me $185 in total to pick up the faulty laundry center. Chris Adams, the manager, thought he was doing me a big favour by not charging me a restocking fee for returning it. I didn't return it because I decided I didn't like it, I returned it because it was faulty. I was also charged $100 for delivery when Ivania told me that delivery was free. When two guys came to take the laundry center away, they had no idea what they were doing and were asking me how to shut off the water. There were three separate times that others had come in to disconnect or connect the units and they had no problems. I asked them if they could phone someone at Coast and they said it was no use because nobody answers the phone. This was my experience as well. There were several unreturned calls by Chris Adams and Ivania Delgado. I even sent a message to the CEO Bill Walker, but never heard back from him either. I wish I had done my due diligence and checked reviews before purchasing from them because then I would have seen from all the reviews how poor their customer service is.

Don't Make Promises You Can't Keep

On July 11th my 19 year old Maytag washer died. $300 later a repair technician told me the main control panel would need to be replaced for another $800. I decided to replace the washer/dryer combo with a stacked washer/dryer pair. Having had previous good experiences with Coast Appliances in Burlington, ON, I returned to their Appleby Line store. The salesman was very nice and said he had the unit I chose in stock in the warehouse. After looking at their delivery schedule he assured me it would be delivered on July 13th. He also said his delivery guys were not allowed to disconnect the present electric washer and dryer, and recommended an acquaintance who did that kind of work ( for an extra $100). We settled on a price and my salesman told me the delivery guys and his uninstaller would call me when they were coming to complete the delivery and installation. The morning of promised delivery came and went. No delivery guys, no uninstaller, no communication about a change in plans. Meanwhile I had put the dryer on Facebook Marketplace, offering it to anyone who could use a free dryer. I got lots of eager replies and arranged for a guy to pick up the uninstalled dryer on the 13th. I phoned Coast Appliances on the 13th to see what had happened to my delivery. My salesman was off that day. His fill-in did some checking and found that my shipment wasn't even on their delivery schedule! He put in a delivery request for the 15th. We'll see.
What bothers me is the fact that nobody contacted me to warn me that my purchase was not arriving on the 13th, despite assurances it was going to. I spent a whole day waiting around for a delivery which never happened. In my Opinion, failure to communicate is a cardinal sin for sales persons and destroys customer trust. After the fact mealy-mouthed apologies are meaningless. This company needs to require that it's sales reps limit their sales promises to things which are deliverable, or must deliver a reasonable explanation to the customer when things go askew.

I should have gone to Trail Appliances..

This is a related incident to my GoBolt experience.

In fact Coast Appliances hired this company to deliver and install my washer and dryer.

They nearly flooded our townhouse had i not reacted quickly to shut off the water supply valves.

Like their delivery contractor, their customer service is quick to shift blame and fail to own up their mistakes.

Their choice in a poor subcontractor says a lot about their customer satisfaction, which is not much.

They regained a star because they recommended me a LG product which is in-line with my appliance repair technician nephew's recommendation, with a palatable price tag.

Bought an appliance package for our new…

Bought an appliance package for our new home, all Samsung junk. Customer service is non existent from both Coast and Samsung. Microwave range hood, can’t cook anything in a frying pan without the fire alarm going off. The fan is vented outside and will not move any air, coast says too bad that’s how it is. A shelf broke in the fridge, called coast service for help, they said cosmetic issues aren’t warranty. How is a broken shelf cosmetic?? Called Samsung and the treatment was worse
