Dr Herrero was wonderfully supportive and informative both before and after my vaginoplasty, I originally planned to get the colon method as at the time it seemed like the best option, however due to my weight being slightly above where Dr Herrero was comfortable operating for that procedure, he suggested I instead opt for PIV and I am so so glad I went that way instead, I am thrilled with the results and I am so glad he saved me from the extra complications with colon surgery because it is absolutely perfect and looks and feels identical to a natal vagina and vulva. I am healing well 3 months post op today and every day I see and feel the swelling reduce and the sensation return and it reveals more and more how skilled of a surgeon Dr Herrero is. Because of him I feel so much more connected to my body as I finally fully recognise it as my own, how it always should have been. Thank you Dr Herrero for quite possibly saving my life.

I recently had an initial video consultation with Dr Roberto Herrero regarding gender-affirming surgery, specifically vulvoplasty.
From the outset, I found him to be calm, approachable and very honest. Rather than trying to persuade me towards any particular procedure, he took the time to understand my personal circumstances, my medical history and what I was hoping to achieve. He explained the options available to me in clear language, together with the advantages, limitations and potential risks of each approach.
What particularly impressed me was his focus on patient safety. Where a more extensive procedure might have carried increased risks in my individual case, he explained why he would recommend a different approach, even though it may not have been what I had originally expected. I came away feeling that his priority was achieving the best outcome for me rather than simply performing the most complex surgery.
The consultation was relaxed and I never felt rushed. I was encouraged to ask questions and was reassured that I could contact him again if further questions came to mind.
Although I have not yet undergone surgery, my first impression is of a surgeon who combines considerable experience with genuine care for his patients, and I feel much more confident about the journey ahead as a result.
