In all honesty, it is very difficult to put into words just how amazing this trip was. I spent an entire year planning, prepping, and working out. The sweat in all of those workouts and hikes leading up to the Kilimanjaro trip was all worth it and then some. Climbing Kilimanjaro Company truly is the best. We had 6 amazing guides: Isaack, Raymond, Saleem (sorry if I misspelled), Mary, Gerald, and David, They were like hiking with professional mountaineers, doctors, historians, and friends all in one. They took care of any and all needs that arose with our group, but I must say there were very few needs that arose because everything was so carefully planned and organized. The porters? Wow, they are the backbone. They do so much work. They are so incredibly friendly and help you whenever you need it. I HIGHLY recommend Climbing Kilimanjaro Company to anyone thinking of a trek on Kilimanjaro. I would be happy to share my experiences and answer any questions someone may have. They also planned my Safari which was also amazing. Another great guide (Bernard) who was very knowledgable and extremely nice and friendly. I left Africa with not only the experience of Climbing Kilimanjaro and seeing the Serengeti, but I also left with new lifelong friends. ALL thanks to the Climbing Kilimanjaro Company!

My wife and I completed the Machame route with Climbing Kilimanjaro in July 2024.
The 7 day trek was one of the best experiences we've ever had, and this was primarily due to the hard work and charisma of the CK guides, porters, & crew.
A few things worth mentioning include:
1) Food - it's all freshly prepared, healthy and delicious. You won't go hungry and this is an important factor in successful ascents. (Thanks Suleman and Jared)
2) Guides - highly professional and experienced. Tomaini, Salim, Naomi and Sixbeth were also great fun - they sang and danced us all the way up to Uhuru Peak!
Safety - our guides gave us information briefings each evening and took our pulse ox readings twice per day. They also monitored our progress and constantly reminded us to drink enough water, walk slowly, eat snacks etc.
3) Toilet & washing facilities - we had a private portable toilet for the group of six clients. This was cleaned several times per day and was a far superior option than using the communal toilets (trust me on this!). Thanks Gifty! Warm water is also provided twice daily for personal washing.
4) The trek itself - the daily treks are manageable for most people with a reasonable level of fitness. Above 3,000m, altitude becomes a factor so you need to listen carefully to your guides. (Pole pole and sippy sippy!)
Summit night is long and quite difficult. Descending is also steep and exhausting. The CK guides played a heroic part in keeping everyone motivated with singing, dancing and fun - I can't emphasise enough how important this becomes when you hike through the night at high altitude in freezing temperatures!

The above factors contributed hugely to the constant banter, laughs and chats within the group. Everybody in the group successfully reached Uhuru Peak in summit day without issue.

Can’t say enough good things about this group. My dad and I did the 8 day lemosho trail circuit and our entire group of 9 people summited. The guides were knowledgeable and attentive. At one point I was having issues with the altitude and they pulled me aside to make sure everything was ok. The chefs and food were phenomenal. The equipment provided (tent, sleeping pad and bag rental) were top notch. 10/10 recommend these guys!

Amazing trip. Great guides, great support team. Good tents and tasty meals. We reached the summit, despite blizzard conditions. If you want to climg Kilimanjaro, would strongly recommend using Climbing Kilimanjaro.

We climbed the Northern Circuit route with CK, and I have to say we were extremely satisfied with them at nearly every level. The best compliment I can give is their organization - people were where they were supposed to be, when they said they would, all the guides and admin were very knowledgeable and encouraging, our equipment was always there and in perfect shape, and we always felt like we were in safe hands. Above all it was far more comfortable and "cozy" than we expected, considering the reality of camping on a mountain without running water for more than a week; the food was incredible and plentiful, the bathroom was far more comfortable than you would expect, the porters set our tents up really well every day, and no day was too strenuous. The guides monitored everyone and ensured we were all doing well and enjoying ourselves, and they even gave small speeches on local plants and wildlife. The only minor complaint we have is that there was some confusion about how much to bring for tipping, since one person had to drop out and more porters came than we expected, so we ended up not bringing enough; my advice is here is: bring more cash for tips than you think you'll need, just in case, don't plan it to the dollar.

Overall this was an ideal experience, better than we expected, and it made this the trip of a lifetime that we were hoping it would be.

Strongly recommend this hiking outfit for your hike and summit of Kilimanjaro. I used them for hiking Kilimanjaro for myself and two friends in March 2024 and couldn’t have done it without them.

They provided a complete support system that enabled us to successfully complete the hike via the Northern Circuit route. Some items and things they did to support us included:

- complete gear check: for a few items we were missing like sleeping bags and poles they provided rentals.

- personal toilet: they provided a clean toilet for our usage on a daily basis. If you are used to a sit down toilet you will want this as there aren’t any on the hike.

- 3 meals a day: While we had plenty of snacks for ourselves, the outfit provided 3 good meals a day and plenty of snacks to the point where you didn’t need many, if any, additional snacks for the hike.

- daily preparations: they provided detailed suggestions, daily, for what gear you will need to carry on your person vs leave with the porters, to ensure you could complete the climb of the day with the minimum amount of equipment to keep you me day pack “light”.

- education: lots of times they slowed down to highlight what plants, animals, etc were part of the ecological zone we were hiking through.

- physical and emotional support: inspirational local team to ensure you were supported in any way as you hiked to the summit. We needed it as we got close to the summit.

- adjustments to plan: the team modified our hike as they learned about our abilities to ensure we maximized our chances to summit.

They did countless other items as well to help us succeed. Truly couldn’t have completed the hike without them and grateful that we chose this team!

The entire crew that took us to the summit and back were outstanding - guides, porters, cooks, and support staff all were professional, friendly, and put safety first. Nothing but positive comments for these guys!!!

This company enabled me to achieve my goal of getting to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro, so 10 out of 10 to them for that. Thanks to them for that.

All the staff on our trip were fantastic, from the guides, assistant guides, chefs and all the many porters. Also the ground level staff, airport pickup and dropoff and pre climb briefing were very helpful.

Our group of 9 did the 7 day Machame route, from Feb 22nd. The final itinerary was changed mid route, but this turned out to be better as we were lucky to have a break in the weather which enable us to get to the top. Our group was great and we all had a good time.

Food was excellent. They even baked a birthday cake for someone up the mountain! Tents were great. Water was provided. A big emphasis on dealing with potential altitude sickness through drinking lots of water, rest, food, taking a slow pace, all helped us.

The stay on the night before and after the trip in the Mount Meru Hotel was also excellent.

I would highly recommend this company to use for your attempt on Kilimanjaro.

Unforgettable experience. The best trip I've ever taken!

This was my first time doing a multi-day trek at this kind of altitude and CK not only ensured that I remained healthy, fed, and hydrated, but that I enjoyed every step along the way.

The people: There is not enough that I can say about the guides and porters. The Tanzanian people are truly special. Energetic, happy, always singing and dancing, and masters of the mountain. Astonishingly impressive athletes. You'll also pick up on some Swahili. Asante sauna CK!

The food: I could not believe how well I ate while on a remote mountain for a week. Maybe it was all the calories I burned, maybe the CK chefs are just that good.

Tents/accommodations: The tent I slept in had more than enough space and was reliable. Having a mess tent for dining and private bathroom tents was a huge bonus and a MUST (especially after you see the public facilities after the mountain).

The mountain: Speechless - every morning, every night, and a few times in between. The mountain is unimaginably large and breathtaking. We were fortunate to have good weather and the opportunity to summit. The Lemosho route lived up to the hype as I thoroughly enjoyed hiking through several different biomes. I would consider myself fit and I handled the altitude well, so seven days on the mountain felt like more than enough.

Safari: DO IT! At least a day, seriously. Seeing some of these animals in the wild is incredible.

This is the company you want to book with if you want to have an experience of a lifetime. I did the 8 day Lemosho trail with my Son and two nieces. Our group totaled 8 and it was awesome!!! The team we had was very professional, supportive, organized and experienced. All the porters, leaders and support staff including cooks were top notch. The teams primary objective, besides summitting, was to make our journey and experience was as positive and memorable as possible. They succeeded! During our time together we also had the opportunity to learn more about the culture of Tanzania and also create bonds and friendships that will never be forgotten. The food was excellent and plenty of it. Their attention to detail was spot on. I can’t say enough on how Climbing Kilimanjaro (CK) exceeded my expectations at every level. For the price point I don’t think there is any other company that can come close to what this company provides. I give them 5 stars without any hesitation. I started my climb January 25th, 2024 Via the Lemosho Route (8 day option).
When I started planning my trip to climb Kilimanjaro, my main concern was choosing the right company to help get me to the summit in a responsible, safe and organized way. There were so many options out there, it was very hard to pick one from the countless companies all claiming to have the best setup on the mountain. The main reason why I want to leave this review is to help YOU fellow climber make this complicated decision. I am being completely honest here when I say that Climbing Kilimanjaro (CK) exceeded my every expectation and even went beyond what I thought a company would offer in this sort of endeavor.
The Staff (both on and off mountain), The food, equipment, organization on the mountain were all top notch.
I could go on with details (have left a more thorough review on trip advisor), but in the interest of not making this review impossibly long, I´ll finish by saying that I 100% recommend CK as your Kilimanjaro support company. I am so grateful to them for having helped me accomplish a lifelong dream and consider myself lucky that I selected them among a sea of Kilimanjaro companies. Thank you to the whole team at CK who helped me and our group get up Kili! I had a great time and the process was made so good by all the guides, porters, chefs and other crew who helped us get there.
Our head guide Tumaini was so chilled and organised and ran the whole team so well while still having a sense of humour. And thanks to all our other assistant guides who were fun, knowledgeable and constantly kept us all going.
Hot cooked food every night starting with tea, popcorn and soup was more luxury than I would have imagined and even with the lack of appetite (altitude) I really appreciated it!
I would recommend the company and the Trek for anyone. It was a great break from my busy life at home. Being in such beautiful surroundings and stepping away from your phone with a great team was a perfect way to spend a week in January!

An experience I will never forget. Climbing Kilimanjaro helped make this an unbelievable experience. Service was great. Team was amazing. And the Northern Circuit was beautiful. Some stand-outs from my trip was our guide George. Not only was he an amazing leader for the team, but he was also knowledgeable and confident in his recommendations. During the hike, he recommended we make some impromptu changes to our initial itinerary and helped change our summit plans from a night summit to a day summit. Our whole team was thankful for the that change and we could not have done that without George. I highly recommend asking for him to lead your expedition because he will guide you to success.

Our group had a 100% success rate for summitting with 11/11 climbers making it to the top. The Climbing Kilimanjaro crew (guides, cooks, porters, etc) that helped us up were absolutely incredible. It is clear they are passionate not only about Mount Kilimanjaro, but about ensuring the climbers enjoy the experience, are safe, and have everything they could possibly need to summit. They are very thorough about preparation and ensuring all the climbers are safe through daily morning and evening blood-oxygen checks, and continuous evaluation. They are extremely experienced and are proficient at identifying signs of altitude sickness or any other issue climbers may experience. Our entire group felt very comfortable with guide company.

While I cannot speak to the merit of other guide companies for comparison, I CAN say that another group that was on our route only had a 50% success rate (for one reason or another). The statistics speak for themselves. This was truly an incredible experience. Choose Climbing Kilimanjaro!

Team Tembo lead by Gipson was amazing! They were personable, trustworthy, and took excellent care of needs during the trek! No need to worry about the food, it’s very good and they give you more than enough to sustain the physical effort. On summit day all those with us made it to the top, so the dream and the team goal was a success! Would definitely choose them again!

I am eternally grateful to the Climbing Kilimanjaro staff for an amazing 8-day trip. With the help of our experienced guides and porters, every person from our group summited safely!

The booking process was easy and they were very accommodating to our group’s needs. We felt safe and taken care of even before the trip began. We were given plenty of information to prepare: such as training guides, packing lists, and route options.

During the trip, they were attentive, informative, kind and supportive. They take safety very seriously by checking your heart rate and oxygen levels twice per day. They are knowledgeable about acclimatization and hiking pace.

The CK crew prepared the most delicious meals, snacks, and tea times. We never went hungry! They put so much care into every meal.

The porters did a wonderful job setting up and breaking down camp every day and I felt safe and comfortable in my tent. They even brought us warm basins of water to wash up twice a day. As far as camping goes, its quite luxurious!

In addition to an amazing trek, we learned so much about Tanzanian culture through the knowledgeable guides and friendly porters. They even went above and beyond during the hike, educating us on native flora and fauna and teaching us bits of Swahili. After our trip ended, they organized a one-day safari operated by Climbing Kilimanjaro.

It was an experience of a lifetime made possible by the CK crew. I recommend Climbing Kilimanjaro to any person interested in doing this climb.

Amazing experience made all the better by Climbing Kilimanjaro's top-notch crew! Our guides (Emmanuel, Solomon, and Victor) were so friendly, safety-conscious, and informative, and we were so impressed by our porters' strength and sense of humor as they essentially sprinted up the mountain.
