Great staff and service

This is a special place to bury someone you have loved and lost. It is natural, light and not like old fashioned grave yards. It is in a beautiful situation below the Downs. All the staff were helpful and were able to give good advice on how to choose a spot and what facilities are available for the service. I would recommend it.

We were very impressed with the compassionate and caring approach taken by the team. A big thank you to the two chaps who dug the hole for the ashes on a very wet, stormy day.

We could not thank the team enough. Especially Tess and Chris. They were so caring and supportive throughout the most difficult of times. They answered all our questions and we are so happy that our loved one is laid to rest in the most beautiful surroundings.

On the day of picking a plot, staff member Chris was very helpful, showing us around the available meadows and answering all of our questions. Then later, when we were having trouble getting into contact with funeral directors in our own area, staff member Tess went to the trouble of ringing around funeral directors nearer to Clayton Wood to find us someone excellent (P & S Gallagher) in time for the scheduled burial. She went above and beyond at a time when we really needed it, and we're so grateful for that.

The day of the funeral went very well, with everyone performing their roles with utmost professionalism while fostering a warm and relaxed atmosphere that helped us feel at ease. We returned home with a sense of relief, knowing that my mum is now resting peacefully in a lovely location, in an area that we discovered to be full of kind and friendly people.

The only downside was the site's waterlogging in the rainy season and the issues it causes with mud and inability to dig certain areas. If that can be taken care of somehow, the site will be perfect.

The whole thing from plaque being made to the scattering of the asheswas very easy, the staff were attentive and professional in there approch,with just the right amount of empathy. Thank you Chris and fellow staff members.

From the initial contact to the day of the funeral, the staff at Clayton Wood go above and beyond. The support given to me and my family gave us comfort at a very sad time in our lives.

Overall a positive experience using this company. Sometimes the answering of phones can be hit and miss but always helpful when they do.

Living abroad and having a request for a specific date, the team at Clayton Wood was extremely helpful and organised the ceremony perfectly. This was my second experience at the burial ground and both experiences were handled in a professional and friendly way.

Afraid it was not a great experience when we came to put my uncles shed in his plot. It was so untidy and crowded out. When he bought the plot I believe in 2011 for his friend and eventually his self, he had a flowering cherry tree planted as this was what he wanted. So disappointed to see the twig that was there instead without even being notified of the change. Believe it was sometime in May this year.

Choosing a plot for your wife and partner of over 60 years was a sad and difficult experience. However we were helped by staff at Clayton woods in a sympathetic way and eventually found the ideal spot for my wife in a wild flower field. The funeral in the chapel was beautiful with views across the fields and downs. I would recommend Clayton Woods.

The communication by email was very good. The service provided was very responsive.

Not only a beautiful place, but the staff are as passionate about caring for nature and wildlife as burials. Emma walked around with me and relatives to get the perfect plot (same day as Burial of ashes). Somehow we even got sunshine instead of torrential rain as all day.
It meant so much, and also showed footpaths (I am a keen hiker). List of approved plants and flowers and assured alway help at hand if unsure.
Price for plot good value. Given donations wildlife/ woodland charities as felt they went well beyond expectations.
