Adam the sweet shop guy needs a raise because he is so helpful and nice and made my experience so much better and he helped my friend find his card and made sure we got out the theme park safely.
Can anyone help! I have sent a complaint with absolutely no response. How do you get in contact with head office? Corporate greedcat it's best.
Terrible experience as all but one big ride are all closed, yet no information on website without digging through pages upon pages. Spoke to people at information desk & nothing they can do which i... Mehr ansehen

What an awful experience!!
What an awful experience!!! Just like everyone else this place is BAD!!!! I’ve been here many times over the years and now it’s worst than bad, as a family even our own children have agreed that it’s not worth the day, no customer service what so ever, cues are a joke, we waits for a could of rides that after an hour was told to leave due to technical issues, vending machines in cues do not work, soon as you enter the park the just trying to up sell you photo cards for unlimited photos , but you can’t get them as the booths are mainly unmanned now, if your looking for a family day out DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, it’s all just one big rip off now, just absolutely money down the drain ,
No where near enough benches
I didn’t like the fact that if you bring your kids and you have to sit and wait while their on the rides there is no where to sit I have a baby and I have to stand and hold the baby because there is limited benches but enough space to put the benches are benches that expensive ???? It doesn’t have to even be big benches plotted all over just a little bum rest that’s it
My 2nd favourite theme park
I loved Chessington as a toddler, my favourite ride was tomb blaster, once I even went on it 6 times! And the more I grew up, the more fun Chessington got (obviously cos I was able to go on the scarier rides since I was taller.)
We visited for 1 night as a family on 3…
We visited for 1 night as a family on 3 on Sunday 18th, which costed us nearly £300 was definitely not worth it! We had breakfast included but not many vegan options. Vegan sausage was given on request but was hard as rock. Bacon and hash brown tongs were used together 🤢. It’s not halal friendly at all. Also when we checked in, we was not introduced to anything, there was no guidance to the facilities of the place. We had safari included in the £300 we paid but was given no details. Definitely won’t be visiting again. Our safari view out the window was an ugly wall🥲. We also requested a cot but that was not provided on arrival.
I loved every minute of chessington
I loved every minute of chessington, I would highly recommend getting the reserve and go pass as it saves so much on queueing. Every staff member was polite and had no issues. I want to give a massive thank you to shekera for being so lovely to my nephew and making him laugh so much and feeling special. I would definitely go again.
I went to chessington with 5 children…
I went to chessington with 5 children and my 10 year child needed to use the toilet after 45mins or so in the queue. I asked my 14 year old to take my son to the toilet while I remained in the queue with 3 other children. We were so far up in the queue that if they walked back in the queue it would have taken a good 15mins to get out of the queue and possibly 20mins back as more people would have joined. I asked my two sons to jump over the barriers to visit the toilet. Upon their return they jumped back. When we got to the front of the queue about 20mins later after the kids returned from their 5mins trip to the toile. We were asked to rejoin the queue from the start after over an hour in the queue already. After arguing I and my children were allowed to go on the ride without rejoin the queue from the start. I raised this with their customer services and their response was appalling and inhumane. They said that their staff members were right asking use to rejoin the queue from the start. They expect that children should not require the toilet after queuing for so long. This is suppose to be a family friendly place however their behaviour is disgusting and unacceptable. Most of the ride we queued for had parents doing toilet trips with their children and returning to the queue because the other party and remained in the queue. This was a very unpleasant experience for my children and I. This is not a place I will be visiting again.
Respond from their customer service team:
‘Although we can fully appreciate that your child may have genuinely needed to leave the queue to use the toilet, our rules on what constitutes queue jumping are explicit as is necessary for our precise calculations in order to provide accurate queue time estimates. Unfortunately if we allowed all guests to leave and re-enter queue lines for a toilet break there would simply be no way of controlling this being abused. We are currently working on a longer term solution in order to assist parents when their child requires the toilet. However I must emphasise that our team were correct to deny access as this is deemed queue jumping, as a gesture of goodwill however staff on the day did allow you party to renter the queue as a benefit of the doubt.’
This respond is foolish in every single way. It just show that the whole establishment lacks wisdom. Allowing a child to use the toilet is not a gesture of good will. If a child needs to go they need to go. It just shows that this place is not family friendly in any way.
Beware of car parking and ULEZ charges
After spending almost £200 on a 2 day pass, I was fuming to to find they charge a £10 parking fee, especially when said parking is in rough terrain in a boggy field. Then, to add to disappointment, it's also just inside a ULEZ zone, and being from Wales, I hadn't anticipated that it'd cost me an extra £17.50 a day just to get there (not the parks fault about being inside the zone, I appreciate that). This meant, that on top of the ticket prices, it cost me an extra £55 just to get there and park over the 2 days. If I hadn't pre booked the tickets, I wouldn't have gone back the second day.
As for the time spent there, whilst we all really enjoyed the rides we managed to get on, the queues are ridiculous. Looked into getting fast track and for the ultimate pass, and extra £100 per person, per day!!! So, for us, £800 just to get to go on more than 3 rides a day. I honestly think these parks need to scrap fast passes unless you have someone with a disability/special needs in your party. It's what adds to the queuing times, but of course, they wouldn't make extortionate amounts of money then. It's not about families having fun and providing a great day out, it's about getting every last penny out of your customers as you can.
The park itself is very poorly sign posted so we spent a while trying to find everything. The app was rubbish, so no help.
We did eat there and the food we had was great, but, even by theme park standards, it was really expensive.
We love a theme park, but won't ever return here due to all these issues.
Alton towers, is so much more efficiently managed and we've been there so many times during schools holidays and never had to queue as long as we did at Chessington. We've always left feeling we've had our money's worth.
I wish I'd read the reviews before booking but it's one of theme park we'd never visited before. I'd never have booked if I come to trust pilot first. Avoid if you don't want to spend a few hundred quid standing around all day.
Used to be great but now…NOT so great :(
I am a humongous rollercoaster fan and have been coming here for years (despite the usually rubbish customer service). However I went here recently and it was an absolute dump. The rides were either broken down or in the case for ‘scorpion express’ derelict without either a sign of cleaning up. The rides themselves are ok, but that’s to be expected as it’s for families.
I have a Merlin annual pass, so thank god I didn’t have to pay the entry fee, otherwise I would be asking for my money back.
DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TIME
Worst day out of my life
Worst day out of my life, everything costs a small fortune. Most kids rides u have to pay for them to ride. Food is the worst ever. Can of coke £3.two rides closed all day. Zufari now please don't waste your time on this. 1hour queue 3min drive saw giraffes. I would not recommend this for anybody until they sort this park right out
90% of day in queues
Two major rides closed, huge queues, ridiculous food prices. Disgustingly bad value for money. Spent hundreds on a day queuing. Avoid this con. There are so many better family trips.
Rename the venue Shittington
I am writing this review from the resort today 09/08/24. Please read the other reviews as most seem to be as disappointed as I am. Firstly the queues are an absolute joke. On average about 60-90 minutes long. Fast track passes are available to buy but at a cost of £12 per person per ride, so not exactly affordable if travelling with a family. And today as a family of 7, each and every ride would cost my family an extra £84 per ride if accessing the pass. The food prices are extortionate. You could quite literally eat at a nice restaurant for the same amount of expenditure. We ate at the Captains Fish and Chips, chips were well over cooked and the jumbo battered sausages dripped with grease. Truly the worst chippy I have ever tried. We did look at most food outlets at the resort looking for best value, but I can categorically state there is no value to be found anywhere. The outlets are charging restaurant prices for bang average food. Ride closures, permanent and temporary simply add up to an extremely disappointing day out. I have been to theme parks all over GB and mainland Europe and this without doubt is the worst venue we have ever visited. Kids bored waiting on huge queues, poor value, poor food choices and extortionate prices. Stay away from this place. If it was up to me I would leave immediately but don’t want to exasperate an already disappointed set of kids. Do yourselves a favour and swerve this overrated park. Spend your money elsewhere. Staff at the rides are quite friendly and that’s the best I can say about this park. So if you plan on visiting Chessington consider selling a kidney before arrival. If I could give this park less than a 1 star I would. Pathetic. Never be back. And have already spread the word amongst friends local and further afield.
The whole place is in a terrible state…
The whole place is in a terrible state of repair. There was rubbish flying around everywhere broken parts of seating lying on the floor for people to trip on. The low quality food costs more than a decent restaurant in central London. Whoever is running this place is obviously taking all the profits and neglecting to maintain the park. I ended up telling the kids we were leaving as I can’t imagine the rides are that safe if they can’t even clean up or replace broken furniture. This was meant to be a special treat for my kids but ended up being a complete disaster and waste of money
Too busy, overpriced food and drink
A poor experience at Chessington. Overly busy with very long queue times, not helped by rides being regularly out of action. Food and drink very expensive for what they are serving. Photo pass not worth it, trouble accessing photos at the time, some rides they weren't even available. They use a third party called POMVOM, they are awful, actually have a term in their conditions stating: Ride and photography locations are subject to change and may not be operational every day. No compensation is available should you not be able to claim a photo at a specific location.
So basically if you can't get photos after paying for your pass, tough luck and guess what. Chessington have no interest in this or anything else.
In short, expensive, over-crowded and poor customer service.
Rainy day promise - not kept
We have prebooked tickets with family with the confidence of rainy day promise.
Today on the day it has been constatly raining over 2 hours.
When going to the desk they said they won't give for another day tickets despite the rainy day promise.
I do not recommend going here.
Don’t go here if you have a disabled loved one
Don’t go here anymore if you have a disability. Merlin discriminate disabled people by taking their money and then leaving them to not even get into the park by their idiotic policy on ride access passes. It is nasty and discriminatory to do this to children and adults who have disabilities not only to them but their poor families who are just looking to make their disabled loved ones happy! How dare you take our money and rip us off. I am probably not the only mother or relative that feels this way. How dare you take our money & then not give us access to your park - I can’t even take my child out on their birthday and you have ruined our plans, you have done this extremely craftily and almost punished disabled people for it! How inhumane! You are thieves! Do you know what it feels like to be disabled? How would you like to have to go through life struggling through no fault of your own?? Do you know that on Sunday when we went to Chessington, Vampire ride was completely empty at the ride access entry??? Why??? How dare you trick us and do this. It’s not your money that keeps your parks open… it is the public and that includes disabled people too! They are no less of a human than those who are without a disability, yet you would think that they are the way you have treated them and their families!!! Shame on you Merlin and your rich people at the top of this money making ladder!!!
No room for family of 6
Tried to book my family of 2 adults and 4 children aged from 8 to 13 and no rooms or tents available.....
Disappointed due to being told the place is better than alton towers now , and a family of 6 should be accommodated for even in 2 rooms
How can anyone say that this place is…
How can anyone say that this place is bad? This place is perfect for families with all ages in their group. We had a really good time today and are going again tomorrow. There's too much to do in one day. I've been to zoo's and never got as close to the tigers as I have here. The rides are perfect aswel as they cater for all. Plenty of food and drink choices. My kids are living their best life. Can't wait to get through those gates again in the morning. Too many people are never happy, what more do you want from a theme park and zoo? Thanks Chessington we're having a great time.
Disappointed
I visited Chessington on 17 July with my 3 yr old Grandson expecting to pay £29.50 for a preschooler ticket when we arrived I was told they had sold out and if I booked online rather than across the counter it would be £39 as opposed to £66 in person the then asked how tall my Grandson was and I estimated about 1 meter I was then told It would be £78 which I had to pay ! I was quoted 4 different prices hardly transparent pricing I am 62 and my Grandson 3 so we were never going to use the big rides only the preschooler ones. I also bought 2 hot dogs chips and 2 bottles of water which was £29 !! My advise book online before you go and take a packed lunch x very disappointed
Waste of money
We brought 2 freestyle cups at £15 each. We went on 20th June 2024. One of the hottest days of the year. There were no ice in the machines and some of the gas had gone on the fizzy drinks. I have complained to Chessington where they offered me a refund in magic money. However, i will not be returning to the park and therefore they refuse to provide me with an actual refund. They dont have an ombusment. Please do not waste ur money at this resort. We went for my sons birthday but the rides are not appropriate for a 2year old. Enjoy going somewhere else with better customer service.
The hotel was lovely
The hotel was lovely, so was the food and views, but, the 2 days we were there, we went on 2 rides! They allowed way too many school trips arrive on both days, and I mean hundreds of them and as for letting us go in the park an hour earlier the next day... Only a few little kids rides were open until 10 anyway, so yet again we missed out on the rides. Feel sorry for people going in the actual summer holidays! Paid alot of money for 2 rides and I don't feel that was fair allowing that many school trips in 1 day!
