Chartahouse provided an excellent conveyancing service for me while selling a probate house remotely. It took almost a year with two buyers dropping out but Chartahouse supported me through all of it

I used Charter House to help me sell my old house and buy my new home, there were times for me in these transactions where I was getting very stressed because I have health problems, nothing was too much trouble for them and they helped and supported me all the way, very understanding and patient. I am glad I had this team on my side to help me with the move forward and I can recommend them and say thank you to the whole team.

I am selling and my solicitor wastes endlessly time chasing Chartahouse for a respond. Chartahouse repeat the same queries as they have not read the documents. Then, they simply just do not respond. We’ve been chasing them for months. It’s incredibly rude unhelpful unprofessional and thoroughly frustrating. 

Value-for-money service. Top communication. Professional firm. Peter met me promptly, worked on on in the evening to solve my problem & was extremely professional - polite & knowledgeable. Very keen to get things done & please clientele. My first choice for Conveyancing for the future. My sincere thanks for your efforts.

HONESTLY if i read these comments before i would have never used this firm 😤 Simon and his team are awful, being a first time buyer i didnt no what to expect but i sure found out, they had me stressed out most of the time they were acting for me.
They dont answer the phone they take ten years to reply to emails. Simon took approximately 2months to view my bank statements knowing i had a deadline (They did not care ) He pictured/labeled me as some criminal and stated my account was a red flag and refused to work with me (going through half of the statements over the phone) spelt my name wrong on most emails/documents he sent me, he does not know nothing about a child's interest accounts he is rude arrogant and the whole team is clearly LAZY, was sent email replies like.. simon will do so when he is able 😳, HOWEVER moving forward i instructed another solicitor firm and everything was completed within 2 and a half weeks 🥳. So that showed me a lot and this firm should really close down and stop wasting people time😡.

Take my advice do not use this firm.

Took 7 months with no chain. There was a small issue which took a couple of weeks to iron out, but there was no urgency from chartahouse to try and complete. Took 4 weeks to respond to sellers solicitor and ended up having to extend my mortgage. Poor communication and would provide no explanation for certain, often quite serious, updates. Told the estate agents I was pulling out of the move when I had not instructed this.

This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with.
They tried to charge me extra for
a bespoke insurance policy when one wasn't required the day before exchanging contracts.
My mortgage advisor and estate agent commented that they were trying to rip me off.
No apologies ever received from them.

It was the buyer's solicitor who advised my estate agent that you were trying to rip me off, such a shame you are still trading !

Avoid. If I could leave zero stars I would. No communication unless chased and then Simon and team are RUDE. Took 6 months of stress for sale and purchase of properties with no issues

I had two property purchases that I needed to complete quickly, I was recommended Nicholas Hawkins. The Chartahouse system is great everything is online and its easy to view your progress. Nicholas answers the phone when you call and promptly replied to all my emails.

Excellent service from start to finish. Peter was outstanding and very thorough. Staff were always polite and friendly. I cannot thank them all enough and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Communication has been extremely poor, with no responses to emails and significant delays in getting through to someone, often taking up to two days. I found the attitude unhelpful and condescending, and there was a noticeable reluctance to assist. In some instances, my requests were outright ignored. It was only after submitting two formal complaints that no action was taken.

I am genuinely surprised that this level of service is still being offered, as even my estate agents mentioned that this company is among the worst they have encountered. Based on my experience, I would advise others to proceed with caution.

Not a good experience. Constantly blamed others for delays when this simply wasn’t true. Terrible communication. Very slow. An unpleasant customer journey

Chartahouse provide a professional and efficient service. They provide an upfront clear fee structure with competitive pricing. They have a system in place which kept us informed as the sale of our property proceeded.

Nick Hawkins did the conveyancing for our move. Unfortunately we didn't find he provided a good service. In general things did get done, but it took a long time, about 6 months and there was no chain, no mortgage, no additional issues. It seemed like there was a lot of time when there was nothing happening and they would say they had done every and the team from the house we were buying would be telling us that they were waiting on things from Nick. In addition Nick was very difficult to get hold of. You would often be told he would ring back but then he wouldn't. There was also limited communication via email from him so it was very difficult to know where things were at. He even said on the phone when asked how long it would take that it depending on how much we interrupted him, which may be reasonable if he was communicating with us otherwise but given there was very limited communication I think it was quite rude. I would absolutely not recommend his services to anyone. I have heard other members of the charterhouse team are better but if at all possible I would recommend avoiding Nick Hawkins, unless you like slow service, limited communication and sometimes rude communication when you finally manage to talk to home at all.

We’ve used Chartahouse twice now, when we first purchased our home 2 years ago, and recently where we sold that property and purchased our new home. All of our experience with Chartahouse has been absolutely fantastic, always offering great advice and completing everything within brilliant timeframes. They always kept us in the loop with progress, and kept us as involved as possible with the process. We really can’t thank them enough for all their help, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking at purchasing or selling a home.

As a first time buyer, this whole experience can be very nerve wracking, however with the great communication and constant support from Sarah, Simon and Charisa, they made the process feel as stress free as possible throughout the process. I’d like to give Sarah a big big big Thank You, she was absolutely amazing from start to finish, enquiries were always replied to on the same day, made me feel less anxious and was so knowledgable and efficient with information. I would often contact multiple times throughout the day and she was just brilliant. As I mentioned previously, this process is probably one of the most stressful processes, and I felt that they had my interests at heart. As a team they were just so friendly, professional, precise and clear to communicate with, I cannot thank them enough.
