I recently bought my new car through Chariots and couldn’t be happier. Liam, Dino, and Franco were brilliant throughout, guiding me through every step of the process and always being available to answer any questions I had.

Their communication, professionalism, and attention to detail made everything straightforward and stress-free. They also made the collection day of my car feel really special, which was a lovely touch.

I’d highly recommend and would happily use them again in the future.

We recently had a car from byd Kettering a sealion5 thoroughly recommended using this garage Liam was our sales rep the attention to detail and after care is second to none the best dealership we have ever used and will continue to in the future.

Chariots were excellent and made the whole car buying process very easy and enjoyable. The test drive was great. I was just given the keys and sent off on my own to drive whatever route I needed. Liam, the Sales Manager, could answer all my questions with ease and ran through all the controls before I left. The finance was very good at 1.9% APR with a great contribution from BYD UK and another small amount from the dealership.

Absolutely would highly recommend this garage not only for the fantastic personal service you get but the standard of cars are top notch, the cars are always the best I have bought many cars over the years from them and always got wonderful service. Just bought a new BYD car from them it was all wrapped up with a bow and a big reveal was had which made it / me feel very special. They were very informative and any questions I had were dealt with very professionally. Always feel I can call with any queries and nothing is too much trouble. A very professional company and deserve all the stars.

Just got a new car from Chariots, Liam their sales manager was professional from the start and was always there to offer advice I can’t rate him and chariots high enough.

The communication from Liam, sales manager, was reassuring. I didn't feel like a number at all. No query was too small. The car buying process was smooth and easy. On pick up day I was privileged to unveil the car, a truly memorable moment.

AVOID AVOID AVOID Chariots Specialist Cars at all costs!

I purchased a vehicle from Chariots Specialist Cars in October 2025 and it has been nothing short of a nightmare from start to finish.

Shortly after purchase, I noticed the car had extremely high oil consumption. When I raised this with the dealership, I was reassured by Liam Bates (sales manager) that this was “typical for this type of vehicle.” Unsurprisingly, that turned out to be completely untrue.

The car was returned to them later in October for investigation. When it came back to me, the issue had been fixed and the excessive oil consumption was still present.

Then, in November, the engine suffered a bottom-end failure. Their response? According to Peter Blakesley (general manager) this failure was “in no way linked” to the severe oil consumption that had been present from the start. A claim that is as unbelievable as it is predictable.

Since November, the vehicle has been back with them and they still have not repaired it. Even worse:

They cannot provide any timeline for when the car will be fixed.
They have refused to provide a courtesy car.
They have refused to refund the vehicle.
They refused to give me my old vehicle back.
They do not answer emails and do not return phone calls.

I have repeatedly explained that this situation is causing serious disruption to my family. I have two young children (6 months and 3 years old), only one other car in the household, and I work 50 miles away from home. Despite making them fully aware of this, they have shown zero urgency and zero accountability.

The level of customer service has been honestly shocking. Selling a car with a serious underlying engine issue is bad enough — but the way this has been handled since is far worse.

If you value your money, your time, and basic customer service, do yourself a favour and avoid Chariots Specialist Cars entirely. They really are a bunch of crooks!

Be very wary!! Complete cowboys. We part exchanged a beautiful car in October for what has turned out to be a nightmare!! The car immediately showed signs of problems which Chariots had back and claimed to fix, it then completely broke down having to be towed away on a loader leaving my husband stranded and me at home 2 hours away with a newborn baby. They are refusing to give our money back and we are completely stuck with one car.

WORST CAR DEALERSHIP - AVOID

I could tell my full story but in truth I’ve spent 6hrs travelling today and don’t have the energy. We reserved a car, asked for details around service history and ownership and requested videos to highlight any scratches, dents, alloys, blemishes and defects etc…we spoke with the team, received videos and advised other than a small scratch and a missing alloy cap the car was all good. It’s 8yrs old and £16.5k. We never expected perfect, we did however expect honesty and transparency given the distance I had to travel to view/collect. Upon arrival it was clear the video sent panned quickly over the very obvious and when questioned I was advised ‘what did I expect it’s 8yrs old’ - I then received a call from the owner called FRANCO (off the back of me requesting my £130 travel cost be reimbursed) - he maintained I got the video I asked for and he didn’t understand why I was so disappointed. Within our call he said ‘you’re the worst’ referring to my public sector line of work which just blows my mind. They lied about the amount of owners (I did my own check), there was finance still showing outstanding and they purposely negated to be transparent with condition despite knowing the distance I was travelling. A car that ‘just had a scratch and a alloy cap missing’ actually had in addition 2 x curbed alloys, a chip in the wind screen, mouldy hood, a paint chip on bonnet, scratches throughout the interior plastics and a drivers seat worn bolster. The alloys had deep oil stains that upon arrival I had to scrub off to see if ferment stains or just lack of car presenting the car. I feel I should have reasonably expected to be informed prior to a 3hr trip to view/collect, FRANCO the owner says not. I’ve had some great experiences with car dealerships - this by far has been the very worst and FRANCO the owner - well I am lost for words

Thank you Chariots. From my first visit to the garage I was met by reception offering a coffee nice touch. Thank you to all the staff especially Seb for guiding me through trying to buy a lease Sealion 7 , I made multiple visits plus messaging and e mail. Whilst Sebastion was on holiday his colleagues including Ben, Liam and Neil also helped with the process of this purchase. Of course the owner Franco was also involved so thanks to him. In conclusion I can recommend this local family run business if you want a good and professional experience in buying your next car. Bernard

Buying a second hand car can be a bit like rolling the dice, both for the buyer and seller. Dealers buy in or part ex cars on their best professional judgement and what they are told by the customer... so from time to time things can go wrong for the customer and dealer. All you can hope for is honesty from the dealer and a willingness to help if things go wrong. Reviews are a snap shot of a personal experience, so here's mine. I picked up my new car today following a test drive yesterday. As far as I can see the car runs well, looks great and was exactly as described in auto trader. Tom, Ben and Franco worked hard to make me feel valued as a customer. No pressure was applied for me to buy the car. They were friendly, professional, knowledgeable and responsive to questions. They were keen to make sure the car was properly prepared for me to collect. The show room was clean comfortable and well set out. The cars were well set out with plenty of information available. I've only had the car a matter of hours so time will tell if my roll of the dice has paid off. So far my new car has made me smile! There were lots of other happy customers today picking up new and used. If you are considering changing your car go visit the team at Chariots I highly recommend them. If I could give 0 star rating I would. To much detail to go through. I have been dealing with this company since Feb 2024. They have had my money, not an insignificant amount of money and they have had the Range Rover. We however have had no car so my wife has either been walking or loaning a car from a friend. The attitude of the senior management is selfish, money grabbing and has no concern for customers. It transpires they do not understand the law which governs their trading. Consumer Protection Act 2015. They even made fools of themselves by trying to argue with the judge in open court. If anyone needs help find me on Facebook, I am happy to give you my advice. If you’re thinking about buying a Range Rover Sport Reg VX17 then think again.

I have purchased a numbers of cars over the years from Chariots. The customer engagement process is always relaxed and straight forward. From enquiry to test drive, trade in to purchase and collection, I have always been well looked after and nothing is too much trouble. Liam and the team are very knowledgeable and professional about the vehicles and looked after me with my recent purchase. I will definitely be going back in the future. Great job.
