Catpasswd is an online password recovery platform built and operated independently. We help individuals and teams recover forgotten passwords for their own encrypted files—without installing cracking software or running a GPU farm at home. Our mission is simple: make password recovery simple, affordable, and trustworthy for everyone who has legitimately lost access to their own files. We specialize in forgotten passwords for RAR and RAR5 archives, ZIP and 7z files, Microsoft Office documents (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and selected PDF encryption types. What makes Catpasswd different is the combination of cloud computing power and a straightforward workflow. You upload your encrypted file, choose a free or professional recovery mode, and our distributed clusters work around the clock using curated wordlists and intelligent rule-based attacks. You can close the page and follow progress by email or on the search page. When a password is found, you can view and copy it—and then destroy the file and recovery records if you prefer. Privacy is built into how we work. Uploads are processed in isolated environments. We never ask for passwords you already know. After recovery, you can delete files and task history to reduce the risk of later exposure. We offer a free recovery option for everyday cases, a professional mode when you need more computing power, and custom recovery from $89.99 for more demanding files. Professional recoveries that reach a final unsuccessful result are eligible for a refund, minus a small processing fee. Password recovery is never guaranteed, because success depends on the password itself—but we aim to give every legitimate owner a fair, transparent, and low-friction chance to get their files back. To date, Catpasswd has served 100,000+ users and run tens of millions of password attempts.
