Imported a car to Ireland from UK post brexit, found it a minefield to pay the duty and vat to revenue for the purpose of clearing the car through customs. Got in contact with Jerry from CarClear.ie, car customs clearance agent. I have to say from the outset Jerry explained everything, making the process of payment through the bank safe and secure. I’d highly recommend Jerry and his company for the speed and professionalism in which he dealt with this. Done in one day. It was also reassuring when presenting the car for VRT clearance that the staff at the test centre also mentioned CarClear as one of the most efficient firms for clearing cars.

I have used Car Clear on a few occasions and find them excellent to deal with and very efficient
I will be using them again this week .

I recently bought a car in the UK. I brought up back into Ireland via Holyhead to Dublin Ferry.
I was fully aware that I needed to pay VRT and the new Nox tax. So it seemed like a really good deal.
As soon as the car was purchased I made an appointment fir the VRT inspection. I arrived at Dublin Port and immediately declared the vehicle. It was Friday afternoon and I was directed to T11.
I had completely forgotten about Brexit and the impact that would have.
I was told I would have to appoint a customs agent to carry out a declaration and that VAT and Customs duty would also have to be paid.
After several refusals from companies who could not or would not deal with me until the following Monday at the earliest.
I spent the night in my car then managed to get onto Jerry from CarClear.ie
He sorted the whole process out in a matter of hours. It would have been less if the bank operated a full service throughout the weekend.
The whole ordeal was traumatic, but Jerry was like a Knight in shining armour.

Jerry cleared my car through Irish customs without any problems. You just tell Jerry what you want to do, and then he advises you and sorts out the importation paperwork. This is all done at a very reasonable cost. It's rare to get such a great personal service these days.

Purchased a vehicle in Uk and then I found out it was more complicated than pre Brexit needed it home in a hurry.

Absolutely amazing service, I googled looking for a customs clearance agent to sort the import charges for me, I looked through a few and decided to go with carclear and I’m so glad I did, I unexpectedly saved almost €2000 on duty as I didn’t know about the agreement for 2019/2020 European vehicles as carclear were the only website with an updated article stating this that I saw.
