Absolute scam of a company. Had a roof lantern fitted and the glass cracked within a month. The aftersales is insulting, rude and clearly reading a script they’ve had to template for having so many of their products fail and can’t afford not replace without going under. Flat out refused to entertain any sort of help. Others have said they used the excuse the weather was too hot, the excuse they gave me was it was too cold, absolutely pathetic. BUY ANYWHERE ELSE.

I lasted about a year and had seen over a dozen so people start and leave the pvc sheeting department.

I detected a lot of miss information about pay scale, procedures and documentation within the role. i was always worried about poor quality and found that flagging up quality issues that where not resolved by senior staff was basically a target on my back.
i was warned before starting that community background does play a role in progression and movement.

after several months and seeing progression of others, i was moved into other departments which i did like, and asked for a transfer request sadly this was turned down by my manager which i could only accept as good sign.
However i was transferred to a strenuous job for a few weeks which did help inflict an injury to my lower back and ended up needing heavy medication and time off.

i was always at the believe that risks are down a bare minimum the work place i have realized that this was a dangerous role and should have been a rotated job.

after that period of absence. i then was involved in an incident. when rushing back to my work place i met a forklift with an unsecure load on a walkway.

defined as a near miss. team leader decided that i should be tested for drugs and alcohol.

while never having any issues with drugs or alcohol and having no signs of drug and alcohol with performance . I agreed to the test in which a prescribed medication did flag up (from a back injury 4 weeks prior). however i have never needed to know a drugs policy. the Brett Martin drug policy is something to scrutinize closely.
Their policy gives them the right to pass on (possibly sell) your urine sample onto a 3rd party. when i was aware of this! i was against the sample leaving site and going to the company known as Randox.

This led to being immediately escorted off site and treated like a junky and suspended under an investigation.

during this period of time i made several phone calls labor relations, HSENI and managers in other companies where they could not see this a direct dismissal.

after a 1 hour meeting that was their conclusion because of the drug testing policy and that i refused to allow a sample of Unrine/DNA to be split on site and take back to a lab and stored for 12 months this was the reason for the dismissal. i highlight the company in question and its conduct over recent years and was replied by, " cant comment"

I purchased clickloc polycarbonate sheets for my carport,the product was purchased from one of their distributors (O'connors who incidentally also provide the aluminium profiles) the profile were terrible not one off them the same size, But to return to brett martin who manufacture the clickloc, and in all my years in the building game I have never seen a product like this that simply doesn't perform as it supposed to,it leaked every where from day one, i contacted the two parties concerned, but brett martin in particular showed no concern or interest whatsoever, very poor product and even poorer customer service, please avoid this product like the plague,

I have installed 3 Brett Martin sky lanterns about 6months go. Two of the glasses cracked when the weather got hot. The company asked for pictures but in the end concluded that that glass does not come with any warranty and warm weather could result in cracks!
Not worth ordering from them as glass too thin.

This company behaves disgracefully. delivery drivers ignore "unsuitable for HGV" signs and get stuck in unsuitable lanes. The company does nothing to research delivery routes or discipline or direct it's transport staff. Very rude to the public and the company ignores complaints, not even an acknowledgement

So very disappointed in all our stone coloured rainwater pipes. All discoloured but even more disappointing now different colours. They have been round and acknowledge the fault. Sent new stock which I paid to be refitted and guess what. More fading!!! Now looks a dogs diner! I now have to paint them with special paint?

Just a absolute disgrace.Communication skills at a absolute zero for the amount of employees working there. Nobody knows anything. Spent 4hrs trying to get loaded. They told me order was ready. So I pulled into loading bay only to be told they had misplaced order. Another 2 hrs spent looking for it. Before they realised they had loaded on someone else. All in all very bad experience.

I installed BM guttering with 5 Half Round Style Fascia Brackets 112mm in 2017. I've just checked my file to make sure I get the correct part and I'd forgotten that I'd replaced the gutters themselves as they warped in the sun after 6 weeks, and BM were kind enough to send me a "Without Prejudice" letter blaming me for installing them incorrectly, which I'd strongly dispute. Today I've just replaced 3 of the 5 original brackets due to the the clips having broken off - this is on a sheltered single storey kitchen extension.

I don't think 7 years for a 50% failure rate is acceptable, so unless you enjoy getting out in the sun every 7 years to replace the clips choose another manufacturer.

Brett Martin cascade cast iron effect guttering - looks nice but shows dust very easily.

as an installer I don’t like it. Clips brittle and quite easily snap. Have to screw / fix fittings as you go which works out harder and more time-consuming than a lot of gutter you can screw afterwards.

As for the reliability it’s early days so I can’t comment, but not looking forward to any service calls if you have to remove any fittings and probably damage clips in the process as the guttering will have to be removed to get to the fittings.

Having used Brett Martin manufactured roof lights for a number of years I am now looking at different options as many of their products have failed me. I have now had 3 jobs (that’s 6 rooflights in total) over the last 5 years that have been faulty or failed over time, and getting a resolution from the company is nearly impossible. The manufacture of their product is poor and there aftersales

Excellent guttering; looks just like original Victorian original, but much easier to maintain and fit.

Purchased 3 roof lights. After 18 months these started leaking. They kindly replaced them even though it was the builder who had installed incorrectly.(all fittings were followed exactly to manufactures instructions) roughly 18 months later these are leaking again. (If it was the installation why did these not leak straight away?) Now saying it is the builders fitting is incorrect. But not the same as what was incorrect before!!!
1 example The technician measured the pitch and said it was perfect. Now this is a fault hmmmm conflicting feedback.
The technician also said I have the old frame the new ones have bigger weep holes to allow for leakage and new manufacturers instructions on how to install them. As stated on the websites updated November 2023 (rubber4 roofs and roof depot)
Why fix something that apparently isn’t broken

Total crap the worst rubbish I ever bought can't seal the gutter clips snap in half when you try to fix the gutter unbelievable crap I threw the lot on a skip

Don't expect any issues to be fixed. I'm almost a year in to reporting the issue. Still not fixed. Next to no communication. I'd go elsewhere. Avoid at all costs. Look at the rest of these reviews! One of those companies who don't take this sort of feedback onboard.

Bret Martin need to seriously look at their rubber seals on the 110mm half round guttering after about 4 years a middle joint leaked
on investigation the seals had worn down wafer thin on discussion with the retailer who said they had several complaints
I realize the gutter is in a sunny position but so is an osma gutter on an adjacent building which has been there for over 40 years
Lucky enough the gutter was on a 2 storey building and was easy replaced
Shame really as otherwise it's a good gutter
I can no longer use Bret Martin gutter for this reason

We got leak after 8 weeks installed !! We called the office and took them more than 4 days responds.. during these 4 days leak again after rain ….they blamed us that we did not tell them it was urgent so they won’t have engineer for it … with leaking roof in November Uk weather for more than 7 days … we are still waiting for someone fit the leaking

Just had to replace a pair of leaking Brett Martin push fit 40mm elbows. The joint had to be disturbed slightly to unblock the sink drain - it wasn’t dismantled, just disturbed slightly. Once the job was complete everything work and sealed properly.....apart from these elbows. Whatever I did, they leaked. Water under virtually no pressure!! So, I’ve replaced them both. Judging by the floor under the units, at least one of them had been leaking for some time. Joints all in line and properly supported. How on Earth can these things leak in this day and age???
