This is a follow-up to my original review of BOS, addressing the school’s response.

I stand by my initial concerns about BOS and feel that their reply only reinforces the issues I raised. Their response included inaccuracies, unprofessionalism, and attempts to deflect from their unethical practices. Let me explain further to warn other families considering this school.

First, BOS repeatedly brings up the UAE in this dispute, which is irrelevant. This matter concerns me, a Canadian citizen, and a UK-based school. Referring to UAE laws, which have no jurisdiction here, seems like an attempt to intimidate me into silence. Furthermore, they disclosed private conversations and personal details in a public forum, which raises serious concerns about their professionalism and compliance with data protection regulations in Europe.

Yes, I applied to re-register my children in April, but my circumstances changed in July, and I informed the school immediately. Their insinuation that I acted improperly is not only false but offensive. Additionally, it wasn’t until June, during final exams, that I realized the educational standard was subpar. Any positive comments I made in the email that I sent, when requesting the cancellation of my children's registration, were generic and intended to avoid unnecessary confrontation, especially after realizing my money was already taken.

BOS claims their terms and conditions are transparent, but this is laughable. The terms fail to clearly define critical points, such as when the enrollment commitment begins. This deliberate ambiguity creates confusion and works in their favor. Charging families for an entire academic year when services have not yet been delivered, and refusing to refund when notice is given months in advance, is both unethical and exploitative. For a school that claims to follow Islamic principles, such practices are far from fair or just.

While BOS claims to deliver the Cambridge International Curriculum, the quality of implementation is what truly matters. My concerns lie not with Cambridge but with how poorly the curriculum was delivered by the school. A lack of follow-up on homework and assignments reflects a disorganized approach that ultimately undermines student engagement and progress.

One of their most egregious claims is that my children’s accounts remained active. This is an outright lie. Their accounts were deliberately disabled, and I have screenshots to prove it. My wife even emailed the school to inquire about this loss of access. This directly contradicts their justification for refusing a refund and highlights a lack of accountability and honesty.

Additionally, BOS threatened me by referencing UAE defamation laws, which is irrelevant and baseless. Neither I nor BOS is based in the UAE, and this legal posturing only demonstrates their unwillingness to address valid concerns. I highly doubt any court would find it ethical to charge a family close $11,000 for services never consumed, even after receiving two months' notice before the school year began. If BOS is confident in their practices, they should not need to resort to such intimidation tactics.

Meetings may have occurred, but they were always initiated by me, not proactively by the school. These meetings were primarily to address issues with their teachers, including one who failed to support my son for being ahead of his peers. Instead of encouraging his progress, he was actively discouraged, which reflects poorly on the school’s staff training and professionalism.

BOS’s reply to my original review only underscores their lack of accountability and professionalism. Instead of addressing valid concerns raised by families, they rely on deflection, misrepresentation, and intimidation. I stand by everything I have written and share my experience to warn other families about their unethical practices.

Today with a heavy heart and sadness, it is my last day with BOS.
But I can not leave without letting everyone know how amazing the school is. I have taught at BOS for over 4 years and it has been amazing journey. The school is Cambridge accredited and we follow strict curriculum according to the Cambridge requirements. The classes are small and gave me opportunity to get to know each and every student. That was the beauty of BOS I got to give every child equal opportunity and individual attention. The school is excellent and supportive and they are on the go to assist with every problem you experience as a teacher.
I am truly grateful to having the chance of being apart of the team.
A big thank you to the founder of the school who is ever ready to assist us teachers and also parents.

"This is an exemplary online school. The administration is patient and makes fair decisions. I can fulfill my Islamic duties, maintain a social life, and uphold strong family bonds. The school offers numerous professional development courses for teachers, from which I have greatly benefited.

I faced challenges last year, and the school provided me with valuable support during that time. I sincerely hope to continue working for BOS for many years to come. The students are wonderful and respectful, and I eagerly anticipate each day at BOS."

I had the unfortunate experience of working at BOS Home schooling, and I cannot recommend it to prospective employees or students. There were several issues that led to my dissatisfaction:

Poor Management: The management lacked effective communication and transparency. Decisions that affected the teachers and students were often made without proper notice or explanation, leading to confusion and frustration.
Unrealistic Expectations: The workload and expectations were far beyond what was reasonable. Teachers were expected to handle numerous additional responsibilities without any extra compensation.
Low Morale: The overall work culture was demotivating. There was little recognition or appreciation for the hard work of the staff, and the environment often felt toxic and unsupportive.
Unprofessional Handling of Staff: One of the most concerning issues was the way management dealt with staff. Teachers were frequently let go without any consideration for the relationships they had built with students, who are, after all, the core of the school. This lack of stability not only affected staff morale but also disrupted the students' learning experience.
Lack of Consideration for Students' Needs: The management's decisions were made without regard for how they would impact the students. Firing teachers without notice or reason broke the trust and continuity that is essential for a strong educational environment.
Unfortunately, despite the hard work and dedication of the teaching staff, the management’s disregard for both teachers and students undermines the school's potential. I would advise anyone considering employment here to be aware of these issues before making a decision.

This is the worst school I've worked with. The people (management) are very rude despite acting friendly in texts.
There are far better online schools with more qualified teachers that you could consider.

As a parent, I would like to briefly thank you all. Thank you for your efforts and commitment to improving my daughter's language skills, who started learning with you as a non-native speaker. We have very fond memories of BOS and the entire year. May Allah bless you! 🌷

Salam dear BOS, we wanted to thank you for providing such a great online platform for our children, when they needed it the most! It was just a perfect and flexible solution for us as we were relocating from Europe to Dubai.
You showed us that learning online can be efficient, productive and fun at the same time. Also the Islamic lesson was a plus for us. A huge respect to the lovely and kind teachers who were always very supportive and encouraging.
And of course shout out to the school management for always beeing available and quick to respond.

It was great experience, the teachers were very supporting to the kids, the only thing it wasn't convenient for us that they change math and english teachers every semester, otherwise everything was good and we would like to thanks all of the academic team and all of the teachers. we got a lot of good in this school and the education levels of my kids getting better and stronger. thank you very much BOS school.

Our experience with BOS has been nothing short of outstanding. As a parent, finding a reliable and effective online school for my kids was a top priority, and BOS has exceeded all our expectations.
The teachers at are phenomenal. They are highly qualified and bring a lot of enthusiasm to their virtual classrooms. They are patient, understanding, and always available to help. My kids have built a great rapport with them, which is crucial for their learning.

My 2 daughters are in BOS and they are very happy. To be Honnestly, I wasnt sure about homeschooling, my kids have always been in present school
But with BOS, I feel my kids stressless and more confident.

After trying several schools, we turned to BOS homeschooling and my children are delighted, they love their teachers and love their lessons. Excellent shool with great management
My children were unable to read and write before studying at BOS. The teacher helped them greatly achieving their personal best. I full y recommend this great school to all parents wanted quality teaching.

Our son hated school before we enrolled him online. My only regret is that I wish we had done it sooner. He is thriving. He has been moved up by one academic year as he is a capable young man and the teachers recognised his need for more challenge. The lessons are engaging and interactive and the teachers and the leadership team are instrumental in liaising with parents about progress and development.

Definitely recommend this school. Teachers are always attentive and focus on students individually. The customer service is excellent. My daughter is happy and it’s the most important thing for us. We are still in the school and will continue with them ! Thank you all again !

Even though BOS is an online school, the staff has still managed to create an atmosphere of togetherness. Ahmed made some really good friends and had very positive interactions with the teachers.
Teachers are always attentive and focus well on individual students.
Alhamdolillah our experience with BOS has been a great one. Ahmed enjoyed schooling with BOS alot and always looked forward to his lessons.
BOS administration also provides excellent customer service.

British Online School comes highly recommended. My daughter was with them for a few months while waiting to get placed at a mainstream school, and in that time they helped her confidence to grow significantly. Their lessons were very interactive and they encouraged all the students to get involved in the lessons. They made the students feel that their contributions to the class was important and always commended them for their efforts. I believe this must have been what helped my daughter’s confidence to grow, as she is usually quite shy but became very relaxed in the class and voluntarily contributed/answered questions, something she had been too nervous to do before.

They take a special interest in students, and always checked on my daughter on occasions she was late joining the class. I like the fact that they encourage students to turn on their cameras, which I think is important to make the children feel more involved and boost their confidence.

They give the students homework at the end of each day and provide prompt feedback. The homework also includes quizzes on topics learned. Access to the classes as well as homework is done via a specialised app that is quite user friendly. Signing up to the school comes with access to a high standard commercial learning app for Maths, English, Spelling and Times Table. I found this app very useful for my daughter who enjoyed practising on it daily.

To top it all, their customer service is top notch, as they always respond promptly and in a friendly and polite manner to any queries or concerns one may have. I cannot recommend this homeschooling organisation highly enough. They are the best!
