Overcharged - avoid!
Charged me for over 70kWh when I plugged in with 80% charge level, and my car only has a 58kWh battery! Customer service team are offshore and not interested in the possibility that they might have a software problem... just told me maybe I had plugged more than one car in. Fraudulent scammers.
STAY AWAY!!
STAY AWAY!!! This is the worst charging network in existence. They have a huge presence in western PA and most all of the stations I saw were Blink and were at car dealers. I went to 3 different locations and all 6 chargers did not work. The chargers look like a dated design. The touch screens were unresponsive and unreadable. They would not link to the phone app. I talked to people at the dealer and they all said "Yeah, they never work." I had to use On-Star to get roadside assistance to take me to an Electrify America station which was 350kW and worked flawlessly. Blink forces you to download their app and pre-fund it. Now I have to try and get my $20 back.
Awful app to start with.
Awful app to start with.
Machine wouldnt take card payment.
They had already taken 51 pounds pre payment.
Managed to get a charge after 10 minutes of annoyance.
A 7kw charger but the most it got to was 3.8kw?
All this for 59p a kwh on a 7kw charger.
Total rubbish
Avoid
Waste of time
Waste of time. Charger went off with my car still connect. Wasted 20mins on phone to customer services to try to disconnect. All in all wasted over 1/2 hr and left without being able to charge vehicle.
Charge Ridiculous Fees with no warning
Horrible service. Clunk app and overcharge with crazy fees. Was in a pay-parking lot, and my Blink receipt show a $5 "parking" fee on top of the pay-lot fee. WTF? No signage, nothing. It's a scam.
Do not attempt to charge with Blink.
The Blink charging network is designed to extract your money rather than offer a service. Blink chargers are completely nonfunctional, and even though we downloaded the app and gave our card number today, we got nothing. And that's not the first time. Blink owes me $17 from a previous attempt to charge that failed.
Nightmare charging using Blink at QPark…
Nightmare charging using Blink at QPark Deanstreet Manchester
Would NEVER use Blink again!
No charge rates at the charge point, took £80 initially.
Still don't know Kwh used or cost per Kwh
No phone signal
Over Half hour to get charge started
Did not charge at the 22Kw stated leaving us with a marginal drive home
Overall worst experience ever after driving EV's for 4 years
Absolutely useless
Absolutely useless! App doesn’t work ! Charger doesn’t work - app even charged me ! Do not use Blink !!!
Absolutely useless
Absolutely useless, couldn’t log onto app as didn’t recognise my password, couldn’t send reset password to phone as didn’t recognise phone number, requested password reset to be sent to email instead. Didn’t send. Checked junk mail, asked for it be sent again still didn’t send. Tried to re-register and couldn’t as email was already in use!!! Either you have my details or not! Make your mind up. Eventually managed to log in via apple account, then app crashed. Logged in again it couldn’t locate the charger I was parked next to then logged me out again. Logged back in manually entered the charger ID code, plugged it in then charger didn’t work! 30 minutes spent in car park faffing about with phone and charger for no good reason. Drove to a BP pulse point tapped card and sorted within minutes. How Blink stay in business I don’t really know
Unimpressed at the potential cost
Recently needed to use a charger and once I'd downloaded the app... and went to start charging it showed the maximum I could be charged was £78!!!! It then detailed I could have just 30 mins charging at £10.
A little let down that the government want to ease people into EVs yet there is no standardisation of cost for charging. Now I know why 10 chargers were all empty in Street. think it was 22kw... so 30 mins 11kw. Normal rate could be say 20p/kw. so £2.20 being sold at £10. I also had to pay for car parking to use it.
Be great to see a standardised cost across the board. Perhaps subsidised by the UK government. Maybe its not their fault and all business needs to make money of course to cover their expenses. Is this a normal cost to expect? Is it just a learning curve for us?
Blink App very slow and poor to explain issues
Authorised Card but the unit failed to start charge
Re-started the sequence several times but with the same result - charger would not start
The Blink App very slow and poor to explain what the issue was
Competitors Apps are so much easier and quicker
Frustrating - moved to an Instavolt charger which are so much more user friendly
Friend from Netherlands couldn’t use…
Friend from Netherlands couldn’t use because the Blink app isn’t “available” waited 20 minutes for phone support and gave up
Worst chargers and app ever
A great app connected to the charger system should have you charging in a minute like my ChargePoint and Electrify America apps do. EVERY SINGLE TIME I use this app it’s at min 10 min before I will get charging and somehow today is shows as charging and will not stop until I went into my truck and released manually. My car was literally held hostage by the charger!
Unfair charge
I'm so pißed off I've come to Brighton to help my daughter, in Shelbourne road I need to charge and it's a permit only charger £35 down the drain council's aren't to help feeling very frustrated.
Deeply Disappointing: Overcharges and App Failures
I had a very frustrating experience with the app while charging my device yesterday. The app consistently overcharges compared to the actual usage (doesn't get refunded back). The app is SUPER SLOW and it's not an isolated issue—I've tested it across multiple accounts and can confirm it’s not a problem with my connection.
The user experience is severely lacking; the app is slow and crashes frequently, especially when trying to access invoice history. When you tap on any of the history cards, it just keeps loading indefinitely with a spinning wheel, but nothing happens.
Additionally, the customer service was disappointing. The representative seemed uninformed, and the poor call quality only made the experience worse. Overall, this has been a disheartening experience, and I hope to see significant improvements in both the app's performance and customer support.
Charger ID 1796-04
Blink is even worse then BP Pulse if that is possible
No option to tap debit card, have to download their app.
Recognised the charging unit and took a shadow payment of £60.25 but wouldn't start the charge. Called customer services answered by a foreign call centre who could hardly speak english. Was told they are aware of the fault.
If they are aware of the problem, why does their system allow you to attempt the charge and take the preauthorisation charge from your bank???
Tried the charger next door, 3kw later fault on the display saying network error and stopped charging. Within 30 seconds bank account had been debited with the cost of the electricity used, £2.50 but they don't cancel the preauthorisation charge so my account now has £120.50 I cant use. Good job I am not near my credit limit.
I wanted to charge and the closest charger BP Pulse is not working. Next is another Blink so third time lucky, and yes, it takes another shadow £60.25 on my account and doesn't work so now have £180.75 shadowed on my account that I can’t use.
Before the condescending members on here blame me, I have had 3 different electric cars and so I do know how to charge my car, use a charging unit or use an app.
At 79ppkw, this equates to a 76kw battery. There are very few cars with a useable battery of 76 kw, even from flat.
You should be given a choice of setting a monetary limit.
Fortunately I can get to my destination but I will never use Blink again.
station not connected since July 2023
Station number: BAE607630. I have contacted the support 20 times. No answer. I just want the charging station next to my house to be activated again and connected to the network. Previously, when Sema Connect was in charge of this station, they were very efficient in the maintenance of the station. Now, since Blink took over Sema Connect, the customer support is inexistant.
Multiple debit card transactions taken…
Multiple debit card transactions taken from my account its obvious I couldn't have used this amount of electricity in the time these transactions were debited from my account and they refuse to refund the outstanding balance. Avoid using their chargers absolute ripp off merchants. You've been warned EV drivers
