Wanted to support Canadian companies…

Wanted to support Canadian companies over Christmas so ordered 3 photo books from Blacks. Ordered them 3 weeks prior to the Christmas delivery due date and didn't receive them till after Christmas. Tried reaching out to this company three times about this and never received a response. Do not recommend this company.

I ordered two picture booklets on Nov

I ordered two picture booklets on Nov. 25….have yet to see them. I was email d and old that one not two…they were the same booklet! Was shipped on Nov. 26! It is now Jan. 2, 2026 and absolutely nothing! This was the first year for my dear friend to be on her own after her husband was put into a home for special care…I am so disappointed with your service,,,I did not have a Xmas gift to give her!! Where are my booklets??

Terrible Customer Service

Ordered an acrylic print for a family member on Dec. 1st which was 1 week before their order cutoff for Christmas. I hadn't received any notification of shipping so contacted customer service a few days before Christmas. Was told it should be shipping out Monday before Christmas. Emailed customer service 2 days before Christmas to find out and no one ever answered my email. Shipped Dec. 30th and nothing from customer service apologizing or explaining why they missed it for Christmas. I would never order again for this reason and I've been a loyal customer for years.

Did not deliver on Christmas delivery promise.

Title says it all. Did not deliver on Christmas delivery promise. Did not respond to support request. I even followed up and still have heard nothing back. A day after ordering, I was nervous about the wrong info in the confirmation email so I called support. They didn't even look up my order and assured me I would receive my order by Chistmas since I ordered before the deadline. It is now a week later. My family came from abroad to meet our newborn son and left without their gifts. What a massive disappointment. Don't give them your money.

Worst experience ever-Scammers

I would never use this company again. I ordered 2 photo books on Nov 27, more then 2 weeks before the Dec 12 deadline for Christmas orders. I was advised the product would arrive by Dec 9. Between Dec 12-22 I made several attempted to communicate with the company when the books didn’t arrive. I was lied to, given excuses and promises to call me back to follow up were not met. Finally I was able to speak to a supervisor when I complained to the parent company. She told me the products were sent Dec 22 and would arrive Dec 24 . It is now Dec 29 and I still have no product. I had no gift for my sons at Christmas because I am disabled and can not get out of the house at short notice. I paid for expedited shipping, made my order in advance of their deadline but the company took my money and scammed me. I am now seeking a full refund and they are ghosting me. Do not trust this company.

Blacks didn't deliver on time and doesn't seem to care

Ordered two canvas prints days ahead of their posted Christmas delivery deadline. It's now December 29th and they still haven't arrived. Moreover, no one at Blacks has gotten back to me (emailed customer service twice). In addition, the ornament that I ordered was "delivered" but inside the box was a product that Blacks doesn't even sell! I've ordered from them for years and always been happy but this year ruined it for me. Never again.

Promised Delivery Date Not Met

Ordered 2 acrylic prints well before the guaranteed delivery date to get them delivered before Christmas. It is now December 29; no delivery yet and no indication when delivery will be completed. In the past my experience with Black's has been excellent. Through my own experience + the other posted reviews this December has gone very wrong both in terms of late production and exceptionally poor delivery by their chosen courier.

Blacks missed Christmas delivery

Blacks missed Christmas delivery. We ordered 2 photo books Dec 1st well ahead of the Dec 12th Deadline advertised on their website for delivery in time for Christmas. Called customer service but they could not help. They just said they were using new vendors and they were behind schedule. We definitely would not use them again as we cannot give books as Christmas gifts.

Steel travel mug with printed image

Ordered 2 steel travel mugs with images as Christmas gifts. The mugs are incredibly cheap. The handles wobble right out of the box and the retaining screw can't be tightened to fix it. The lid has a tiny hole too small to drink from and leaks when closed. Blacks needs to use higher quality mugs. I'm too embarrassed to give these mugs as gifts.

I ordered photo books for Christmas on…

The books made it for Christmas. I changed my review. The communication was a big problem but they made it right.

I ordered photo books for Christmas on black Friday.

It has not shipped and they haven't sent me anything about it. I have emailed customer service and got a response that was a form letter apologizing for their inability to handle the number of orders they got. I still have no product and I'm out 250 bucks.

No communication from them. I will never order from them again.

Entire Project Deleted With No Recovery or Accountability

I spent over two full days building a custom photo calendar on this platform, only to have the entire project disappear. Customer service confirmed there was nothing they could do and labeled it as user error. No recovery. No credit. No effort to correct the situation beyond telling me to start over.

This is particularly frustrating because this is the ninth year I have created a calendar as a Christmas gift and I have successfully used Shutterfly and Mixbook in the past. I switched to Blacks specifically because it is Canada based. That decision was a mistake.

The platform itself is also extremely limiting. Predefined templates only allow up to eight photos, which forced me to build fully custom layouts. That added hours of unnecessary work. All of that work is now gone.

Between the lost project, lack of accountability, and rigid system design, this was a costly and stressful experience with no resolution offered. I will not use this service again and cannot recommend it to others.

They are back and stronger than ever. Blacks is back to its great quality, wonderful products and on time delivery service. I am thrilled and impressed. I knew you guys could do it. And I am super happy to have you back running on full steam. Cheers, salute et tutti.

Shameless

Wow. I ordered 8x10 brown photo frames. They looked like they had been made out of recycled plywood. There was a cheap scratched up thin piece of plastic for the screen cover. I paid $238 for six frames that looked like they cost less than $10 to make! When I requested a refund, as their website says they offer refunds and returns, they said that they are located too far away from me to do a return?! I am Canadian (Winnipeg), and they are located in Montreal. Companies will normally do refunds to wherever they deliver to. They refused to do a refund also. This company is unfortunately scamming customers now, following a growing trend. I would not order from them again.

Happy with photo prints and printed…

Happy with photo prints and printed mugs, as well as email updates and customer service. 8x10 enlargements seem to crop image in way not shown in preview. They sent duplicates of two mugs in place of two others. I called customer service number and they sent the two right ones within days. Happy with service.

Phoned Blacks in Worcesterfantastic service. and spoke…

Phoned Blacks in Worcester and spoke to Shirley who put a pair of Scarpa walking boots aside for collection. She was so helpful and pleasant to talk to. Collected boots the following day and was served by Liam who was again so helpful and informative. Great service all round .
