Horrible Customer Service

I have ordered numerous pairs of shoes from them, I need them. Unfortunately, they patented the toe box zipper so they are now the only game in town. and They have a patent and they have jacked prices, hidden their phone number, hide behind AI Bots and customer service is Awful!

I am approved for the “Singleshoe” program and could not get it working when trying to order. When I got a response it was rather dismissive “what’s the error message”. I went back in and it finally worked. Unfortunately, In all the confusion I accidentally ordered a 11.5 when I needed a 10.5.

As soon as I noticed my mistake, I contacted them through chat, which was AI not a real human.I was trying very hard to catch this before it shipped but thanks to them hiding behind chat bots the order shipped.I spent considerable time trying to locate a phone number, they hide it. I left multiple messages and emails asking them to call me as of yet dead silence.. They finally responded via email that they only got my communication after it shipped. This is not true, I tried via chat and email and only got AI generated responses.

I am very frustrated at how bad their customer service has become. Hiding behind AI, hiding your phone number and when you do get a human via email and ask for a call back because you only have one finger to type with they never call… Oh and the price of the shoes is now well north of $200.00 for “singleshoe” where it was under $100.00 in 2023… Great shoes for the disabled but their customer service is horrible.

Yes, I made the mistake when ordering, but they made it impossible to correct. Now I have to re-ship across the country which means It will take me more than a month to get the right shoes. And cost me even more $$$…

Tried to order a pair of boots but…

Tried to order a pair of boots but found the price quoted was not including vat. That was added at the end!!!! I thought it was law that you didn't pay vat on adaptive clothes etc, i never have before so would not use this company

Very poor experience

Very poor experience. The orthotics won’t fit in the shoes but instead of refunding me, they gave me a store credit. Even after requesting that I cannot sue the store credit as they won’t fit into their shoes, but still nope! They didn’t care. THERES NO USE FOR A STORE CREDIT. VERY DISAPPOINTING!

Billy Footwear is a shady company

I've purchased three pairs of high top shoes, and one pair of winter boots, from Billy.

I purchased Billy 2.0 High Tops in size 9W in April 2025. They didn't have any issues, but the tongue did start fraying about 6-9 months into use and are more difficult to use now.

I purchased Billy 1.0 and D|R II High Tops in size 10W, in August and September 2025. The 1.0's didn't have any issues, but the D|R II's arrived with crooked eyelets and a harder to use zipper.

Most recently, in October 2025, I purchased the ICE Wide Winter Boots in size 11W. I used the size chart, verified the fit the same as the shoes, and chose to size up for my child currently wearing 10W. When the boots arrived, I noticed the insoles where a FULL size smaller than indicated. The 11W is the exact same length as a 10W, and more narrow.

I contacted Billy asking for a solution. They told me to send them back, which I'd have to pay for, despite their size chart being incorrect. So I'd be paying $75 in shipping (first purchase, return, second purchase) due to THEIR error. That wasn't acceptable to me, and they did agree to give me a return label and send a replacement with no shipping costs.

However, they have spent 10 emails gaslighting me about the boot sizing and the fact that they delete negative reviews.

They said the boots fit snug because of the fur lining, but the fur lining has nothing to do with the insole length and width. And even if true, that should be indicated on their website.

Then they said the insoles APPEAR small because my child's feet must have grown. They did not grow, and even if they had, that wouldn't make the insoles the exact same length.

Then they said her other shoes may have stretched over time. They were a month old, so no, and again, even if they did that doesn't make the insole the same length.

Then they ran out of excuses and ignored my questions.

I posted an honest, negative review with photos to back it up on October 16. It hadn't been posted and I asked why - no response. I asked why again - and they dodged the question. I asked why again - dodged again. I asked why again, and was told reviews take "a few days" to post. Well, this was October 28th by that point and other reviews, all with 5 stars, with dates after mine had been posted. I pointed that out, and was ignored.

Now I'm fighting with them to give a FULL refund for the boots, rather than exchanging them for a bigger size. I'm done with this company and will not support such shady business practices.

Restrictive with no compassion

I have purchased 4 pairs in total. 1st pair zipper broke immediately. 2nd pair zipper feels weak, or cheap made so we dont 7se them. This year I decided to try summer sandles. They fit horrible! So I ordered a bigger size. Still fit horrible and the zipper is so cheap considering its supposed to be for special needs folks.
As a sole.support patent of a special needs child im busy and or overwhelmed. Well, when I went to return the 2 pairs of sandles i was SHOCKED to learn of their restrictive return policy. I was denied 1 pair bc I missed the very short return window by a few days. The 2nd pair was OKto return but I had to pay for the return shipping AND a restocking fee!!!! $125 shoes to buy, refund $90. Then I find out the money won't be returned to my credit card but to an in house credit. As if I'd buy these crappy shoes from this crappy Canadian company ever again! SHAME SHAME SHAME ON THEM. No compassion, no understanding and very restrictive return policy. Please do not bother risking a purchase with them. You may end up with a huge loss like me. Go to New Balance instead. Amazing Canadian company. I lost out big time with Billy Schmilly craptastic shoes.

Pas op als je hier koopt

Schoenen besteld voor mijn dochtertje, die slecht ter been is. Van elke schoen twee maten besteld om te passen.
De schoenen netjes in de schoenendoos gedaan deze in de originele verzenddoos en retour gestuurd. Één paar mocht niet retour omdat er korting op zat? Dit vond ik sowieso al raar.

Vervolgens vindt men dat ik de schoenen niet goed verpakt heb en dat er een geldbedrag in rekening gebracht gaat worden???

Third World Shipping

I ordered my 3rd pair of Billy Footwear directly from their Kent,WA US headquarters. What mistake that was. The 1st promised delivery date was supposed to be Sunday 13 July. Then they upped it a day to Saturday. It is now Monday and the shoes sat in Nashville for two days versus being shipped when received. Why it went to Nashville at all is a question, since FedEx has an International Intermodal Center in my home town. In the future, any Billy Footwear products purchased will not be ordered directly from Billy Footwear!

Game-changing, disposable shoes

We've been using Billy shoes over the last 7 years for our son who wears AFOs. What can I say but, congratulations Billy! They are an excellent innovation. They are a real game-changer. Since using these shoes our son has been able to put his shoes on/off by himself over his AFOs. I would love to give you guys 5 stars. However ... the manufacturing quality of these shoes is absolutely shocking. We currently go through a pair of these shoes every month. They have a number of issues, which Billy really need to fix. As most reviewers have noted, the zippers are not sturdy enough and often fail. The soles peel away from the bottom of the shoes (sometimes after only a couple of days). The grip on the soles is so thin that, even if the soles do not peel away, the tread is completely gone within a month. They are game-changing shoes but the quality makes them only fit for a disposable item. They should therefore be priced accordingly.

Disappointed in quality

We've used Billy footwear exclusively for a few years for my son who is disabled. Unfortunately, we've started having issues with zipper quality. On one pair, the zipper pull snapped, making it impossible to open/close not long after purchase. Now on a pair of shoes we got just a few months ago, the zipper teeth no longer align. We found out there is a 90 day warranty, so unfortunately, we're just out of luck. We're so disappointed in the quality! We'll have to search elsewhere for other adaptive options that meet my son's needs. We simple can't afford the cost for shoes that won't last more than a few months.

Billy Footwear should do better

Billy Footwear , founded by a person with a disability, designs shoes for people with disabilities. And their shoes are for the most part decently made and to the purpose. However, their Customer Service representatives, can be both obstructive and tone deaf when a problem arises. My friend, who has a serious disability and has bought several pairs of shoes from the company, reported a problem with a defective shoe and was met with nothing but obfuscation, denial, and delay for a month or more. In the end, Billy Shoes offered a voucher for a replacement pair of shoes. The first voucher did not work, which involved further and more complicated communications. This is not an ideal situation for someone whose disabilities make communications over computer and text challenging. The wrangling, all done via text and slow email since the company offers no customer service phone contact, left my friend exhausted and disheartened. Billy Footwear offers a crucial service to an underserved community; they should better train their agents to respond to loyal customers with integrity, respect, and even generosity. Such humane behavior is not only just, but it will inevitably help the bottom line as well.

Don’t do it !!!

I wanted to love these shoes but they were like walking on a brick. No spring at all. Liked the toe space. Several of my coworkers tried them on and nobody found them comfortable to walk in. Disappointed.

Absolute junk

I found these shoes online and thought they were super stylish for my son. Bought 8 pairs, some for now and some for him to grow into. What a mistake. I somewhat expected there might be issues eith the zipper going across front of foot that they might break. The zipper ripped on one pair but the rest of them? The toe wore completely out, the laces do not stay tied at all. After coming untied and trampled on they are completely frayed and look horrible. Now I need to find new shoes for my son. I invested in the wrong shoes and am out hundreds of dollars

The material feels flimsy, and after just a short time of use, the shoes started to wear down more quickly than expected.

Highway robbery and horrible company

I ordered a pair of winter boots for my daughter. She has special orthotics and after many years of searching, Billy shoes are the only ones that work for her. A week after ordering I get an email saying I need to pay more for shipping before they send them. No invoice or proof for the need of extra cost. They told me I had three options pay the additional cost for faster shipping, keep the order as is, it cancel it. I said keep it as is. They immediately cancelled the order and forced me to pay for the order again. And again, the shipping was the same amount. Then they told me to pay the additional fees again in a subsequent email. Again no proof of need for additional shipping. Total scam and taking advantage of disabled children. What a disgrace of a company.

Order for my kid birtday. Manufactured problem and they refuse to do something!!!! Loose my money !¡!!!! Umbelivable !!!! Will.never order again with this compagny !!!!!!! And i will say it to all my partner ! Find this attitude very bad and not kind !!!!

Sent wrong product

Sent wrong product, cannot reach anyone via email, messenger, or phone. Finally reached Abby, she said she would look into it and never heard from her. Trying to get a refund is impossible. We have had these shoes in the past and they work well, but customer service is terrible if you have an issue. Hoping they reach out to resolve.

BOUGHT A PAIR OF SNEAKERS FOR THE FIRST TIME AS I AM A TWO TIME STROKE VICTIM IN NEED OF THEIR PRODUCT. THE ZIPPER ON ONE OF THE SNEAKERS BROKE IMMEDIATELY AFTER TRYING THEM ON AFTER THE FIRST TIME. TRIED TO RETURN THEM BUT GOT ZERO RESPONSE FROM THEIR NON EXISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT.UNFORTUNATELY I WILL BE THROWING THESE IN THE GARBAGE. VERY SAD EXPERIENCE. DO NOT EVEM THINK OF BUYING FROM THERE CROOKS AND SCAMMERS.

So disappointing

So disappointing! My daughter’s shoes fell apart at the zipper within 2 months of purchase, and then the replacement pair fell apart within weeks. And now they won’t offer another pair to replace the second pair! Huge rip off for a high priced shoe. Will never buy again.

Poor quality, TERRIBLE customer service

We have been through 3 or 4 pairs so far all of them the zipper broke...they had a very good sale going on I thought I'd give them one more chance. I placed an order but when I got my confirmation email it had the wrong size so I emailed them immediately within 5 min of placing the order 4 days later I get a reply "sorry we are down to 3 people in customer service" and to use the returns portal if I needed. The returns portal says they are ineligible for returns so I emailed again now they just don't even reply at all absolutely terrible company basically robbery not sure how they're still in business. If your reading this save yourself the money and look for other options we ordered from FRIENDLY SHOE COMPANY and so far they have been awesome! But we did JUST get them So time will tell but the quality seems much better.
