Misleading process, constant upselling, and incomplete delivery

I had a very disappointing experience with Bestseller Ghostwriting and would strongly advise others to proceed with caution.

I initially paid for what was presented as a comprehensive package that included writing, publishing, and audiobook production/distribution. However, after getting started, I was repeatedly asked to pay additional fees for services I believed were already included.

At one point, I was told directly that their model is to get clients started and then upsell additional services later — essentially that this is how they make more money. That immediately raised concerns for me.

After I pushed back, they agreed to stop upselling and even reassigned my project to a new project manager. However, the new manager then told me they would not proceed with publishing and barcode registration unless I paid more money — which directly contradicted what had already been agreed to.

There were also major issues with transparency:
• I was never provided a fully executed (signed) agreement
• The scope of work seemed to change depending on who I spoke with
• Key deliverables like publishing and audiobook production were never completed

Despite this, when I requested a refund, they refused and claimed that the work had already been completed.

The entire process felt inconsistent and misleading. Communication was fragmented, expectations were unclear, and the constant pressure to pay more made it difficult to trust anything being said.

If you are considering using this company, I strongly recommend getting everything clearly defined in writing upfront and being cautious of additional charges that may come later.

This company was good under different leadership. I’ve since requested a refund and it’s been 6 months and they still have not sent me my refund and now I’m being ignored. What started out as an exciting process under my original Director has now turned into a nightmare. I’ve sent approximately collective of 20 emails calls and now I’m being ignored. Someone from upper management needs to contact me so we can get this resolved.

They refuse to honor any part of their so called guarantee
I gave them 2 books that I had written and self published
I needed to get marketing help
They said they would get the books out on social media and amazon and promote them and I would make 3 times my investment. Their would be podcasts, live interviews, advertisements and book signings. Every week or two they would call and say THEY NEEDED MORE MONEY for something it was different each time plus different departments would call and say they cant proceed without more money. last year I sent them a total of $5,800. Do you know what I got in return NOTHING 0.00000 and they have the balls to say they need more money now, so my investment in them is a total loss. In 2024 I sold my car to get them the money to get my book out there NOTHING.

I suppose if we all got together we could file a suit against them for breach of contract I sent a book to another publisher and it was formatted and published on Amazon in ONE WEEK.

They promised to publish the book within 12 weeks (by September 30, 2024) with a 100% money-back guarantee if they failed to deliver or publish. I paid $15,225 upfront. After they missed the deadline, I requested a refund via their 360 portal in October 2024 and gave them an additional 3 months until January 2025 to complete the work. As of June 2, 2025—nearly 9 months past the deadline—they still haven’t delivered a single chapter, and the book isn’t published. Despite my refund requests since October 2024, they refuse to refund my $15,225 as per the contract, only saying they ‘want another chance to make things right.’ I’m concerned this might be deceptive behavior. Has anyone else dealt with them? Any advice?

so we asked best seller ghostwriting ... why is it that every call we get from you is to sell and add on that was not talked at the time of the contract .
the response was a blunt show of how they do their work once a client has signed up to have this Co. " write" a book ..and it went like so We dont tell our clients about this otherwise people wont sing a contract that has no ending .. that kind or response backed with a call from everyone in that place from the " ghostwriter to every single soul that calls you check in on how progress is developing its not for that intent the true reason of each and every single call has been to up sell some that doesn t exist yet . i don t know book business but i do know bad business and this company has all the flags to look out for once you know about all the hidden wanna be sales one could avoid this kind of business . at this moment we are chained to a Co. that has no working ethics .sales you sales wtf?? sells you subscribers ?? that business is a scam from day one and so on . i will keep up with this till the end i wont let this Co. steal with false promises our money . this company could do better if they change the way they do sales and include all that intels writing , publishing and selling a book instead of hiding beautiful offers that pop out gods know where in this peoples mind . the bad taking among sales persons of the names Josh ,Ethan , Nancy ... even ruth the writer trys to up sales you . would you give this company a lil than 20000 usd and allowed them to milk you every call ??? learn from our mistakes .

If I could give a lower rating then I would. This has been the ABSOLUTE worst experience ever working with a group that don’t honor their commitments, are great at running you down for more money and the absolute worst at providing quality work for the hefty price tag! Even when provided with a complete manuscript!

Insult to injury, my book was published loaded with critical errors and the marketing has netted $0 returns. The website was published riddled with errors that were identified many times over.

Put the effort and expense into finding highly rated industry professionals through credible sources like Reedsy, Authors Guild and Bowken for indie authors. Invest in software like Autocrit and save yourself the expense and frustration of people who don’t care about your success more than they care about draining your pockets.

Over promised and dramatically under delivered in every way possible!

My book was supposed to be completed in time for my anniversary last November and it was published the first time until March 16th! The book was republished with the same version riddled with errors and no follow up to date to confirm whether or not the book on Amazon today is correct and they offered no reimbursement for the books that I purchased before realizing they were a total mess!

Buyer Beware if using these folks!

This company has been a nightmare- I paid them too much money- now they are barely- doing anything after I paid for an extensive marketing package. 4 pages of things they would do to promote my book and nothing has been done. I am now attempting to get them to answer my call- DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!! It took way too long- also I was told they like to mess with clients when they have down time which explains a lot- I would not think people would be that stupid.

This place is a scam. All the 5 star reviews are bots or fake. They took my money and didn’t deliver. When I asked for a refund they sent me to like 5 or 6 people to convince me to stay, the process took weeks and was extremely manipulative. Ultimately they refused to give me a refund per the signed contract. This place is an elaborate scam. Extremely poor quality writing and no refunds. SCAM. Avoid at all costs.
