This company is an absolute shambles. They gave me a quote after having multiple phone conversations and sending many pictures, including the minor wear and tear on the vehicle. They then offered me a ‘guaranteed price’ which I accepted, booked a day off work to arrange collection of the car, only for them to then decide they ‘don’t want the vehicle anymore’. Absolutely ridiculous, their appraiser was a joke, pointing out obscene things like ‘chips in windscreen’ which were simply the tiniest, barely noticeable to the naked eye, surface marks smaller than a grain of rice and certainly not a ‘chip’. The whole ordeal was absolutely awful. I had already said to the girl who gave me the ‘guaranteed price’ what happens when your driver turns up and inevitably knocks the price down as always happens and she vehemently denied this, saying this is not how we operate etc etc. In actual fact, it is EXACTLY how they operate, the appraiser even said so himself. Told me to go elsewhere as they ‘do this all the time’. I’d say I’m a very realistic person and fully expected at least a bit of a decrease in their ‘guaranteed price’ but certainly did not expect them to have just completely wasted my time by just saying ‘no longer wanted’. Funny because the vehicle was actually in excellent condition for being 8 years old and I ended up selling it the same day to another company. AVOID THIS PLACE, they outright lie.

EDIT/UPDATE: I received completely inappropriate text message at 7:45PM on a Saturday evening from the appraiser that this company sent to my home address and provided my contact details to in a threatening manner saying he lost a job because of my review. Obviously this is completely and utterly unacceptable, reported to police but I also rang and made a formal complaint with Best Car Buyers, to which they have just completely ignored. I followed up with an email asking for an update on what action they have taken, to which they responded and said ‘they’ve received no written formal complain from me and I am unsure what action you wish us to take’ to say I’m absolutely dumbfounded is an understatement. This company is disgusting and clearly to not care about any form of customer service. Lauren at this company should be ashamed, I hope nothing like this ever happens to you as a lone female.

Got into contact with Charlie. Very quick to responsed on messages and phone calls. From beginning to end; very profesional, polite towards me as costumer.

Excellent experience, from a general enquiry online I was called by Charlie Pickering who agreed a price I was happy with. Was a slight delay on my part due to having to remove my private reg but Charlie was patient throughout. I contacted a few car dealerships for a price for my car and this is the only one that reached out in person and not just emails. I spoke to Charlie Pickering, who was great, he answered all of my questions, was very responsive and explained all of the process. The gentleman that collected my car was very friendly and was also a pleasure to deal with. Once all of the checks were done the money was in my account very quickly. The driver waited until this had happened before he left. It was a very easy experience.

The swiftest sale experience I’ve ever had. After being knocked down ridiculously from the initial price by a dealer through motorway, I decided to sell privately but was recommended to try here by the appraiser. I contacted them, described my car, they gave me an even better price than the initial online quote, and I dropped my car to them less than 24 hours later with no drop in price. Gave me a price for my car, countless emails to say they wanted my car then when it came time to me accepting the offer they retracted it and said they no longer wanted the vehicle, wasting my time for the past week going back and forth with them.

A surprisingly great experience selling my car.

I have tried with Motorway, Motorpoint and Carwow - and all of them were poor experiences in one or another way, and the quotes I was getting after appraisals were awful. In comparison, the quote I received from BestCarBuyer was very fair - not the most I could get for it but definitely a strong offer that made me go with them.
