Serious fault, car off the road, and no urgency
I contacted Hyundai Chiswick on 21 September after my Tucson developed an electrical fault. The problem then became more serious, including the instrument display going completely blank while the car was being driven, meaning the driver could not see the vehicle speed.
The car was left with Hyundai Chiswick on 25 September. I was then told that their next available date to diagnose/service it was 9 December, more than ten weeks after I first reported the problem.
Given the nature of the fault and the fact the car is under warranty, I have repeatedly asked them to bring the appointment forward. So far I have received explanations as to why they cannot do so, rather than any real attempt to resolve the problem.
I was provided with a replacement hire car, which then also broke down.
What is most disappointing is the apparent lack of urgency or ownership. A relatively new Hyundai with a potentially serious electrical fault could be sitting at the dealership for more than two months before it is even properly investigated.
I have again asked for the car to be looked at sooner. I hope Hyundai Chiswick can now take ownership of the issue and resolve it promptly. At present, the level of service has been very disappointing.
