I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at Beds4U.

I purchased a bed and mattress on 25 January 2026 from the Lower Hutt store, clearly informing the sales team that I would be moving into my new home in the last week of March or the first week of April. Despite placing the order well in advance, as of 28 April 2026 my order is still incomplete.

While the bed base and mattress were delivered on 17 April, the delivery included the wrong bed base legs (photos attached). To date, the correct legs have not been provided. In addition, the headboard and pillow protectors listed on my invoice are still missing.

What’s most frustrating is the lack of communication—there has been no update or follow-up from the Lower Hutt store or the company.

This has been a very poor customer experience. Unfortunately, this will be my last purchase from Beds4U, and I would not recommend them based on this experience.

1. Prioritise sending out the correct bed base legs to you as urgent replacement
2. Investigate and confirm the status of your headboard and pillow protectors
3. Follow up directly with the Lower Hutt store and our delivery team to understand where the breakdown occurred
4. Ensure a team member contacts you with a clear update and delivery timeline

I also want to sincerely apologise for the lack of communication you’ve experienced. That should not have happened, and we will be addressing this internally.

Beds great but don’t trust their deals

Beds great but don’t trust their deals. Our beds arrived without the promised delux set. We went in to store to ask why and that we didn’t want to use beds without mattress protectors. I also got rid of old pillows and the beds being 2 long singles we were meant to get sheets. The man gave us some cheaper pillows and mattress protectors that we only KS. He said when the correct ones arrived we would still get those too. A month later and we had to chase them up. One of their staff just dropped off sheets. Nothing else. When I questioned him he argued and said they were no longer in stock for others things and we already got stuff so that’s it. The sheets were from Bed bath and beyond and way cheaper than the deal we had signed for. If they are going to run out of stock they should not put them with a deal upon purchase. Then lie that the sheets have arrived but they are not even their brand but cheaper ones. Also flannette which I can’t use. If I had known they were going to make us just do with cheaper lower quality pillows and mattress protectors I would have waited until they sorted it or would they have come from another brand too 🙄 I have neck problems and need a proper supportive pillow. We also would of liked mattress protectors that fit properly . Edited to add, sheets got were from a store on sale $47. Once promised were way more. Spent thousands on a bed and that was our deal wow never again. Won’t be getting our other beds upgraded here

Mixed review

I was so excited for the sale and getting the matress . The Matress took a month to arrive , unfortunately without the lavender pillows that were part of the sale and no extra communication to my email after . And now the matress is makjng catching spring noises each time I get out of bed ,
I don’t think I would purchase again after being so excited getting a new matress after 9 years.

Didn't display lead tine of 4 weeks. Had it as stock clearance which was a lie if you dont have stock. Didn't refund me money for a month. The whole process was terrible. Worst customer service I have ever worked with. Zero stars

was out looking at buying a bed and mattress and went into Beds4U in lower hutt. I was assisted by Ginny who was very helpful and knowledgeable. I felt that I got a good deal. It came with a mattress protector ,2 pillows and pillow protectors, and also a set of sheets.
Ginny has been very good with communication and so I have been well informed of delivery and anything else that I needed to know.

do the staff actually see and know what thy are selling?

I contacted beds4u about a range off bedroom furniture I was looking at..
I had a couple questions/points I wanted to clarify about.
The photos of said bedroom furniture show 2 different shades of timber, causing confusion I bought this up with the staff via the ‘chat’ on the website and was told this is just lighting in the photo that affects this..
They bedroom drawers arrived and thy were the lighter colour I was not really hoping for. Not what was shown in the photos, do the staff actually see and know what thy are selling?
Secondly, in the same ‘chat’ page I also asked if there is any MDF or chipboard products in these 2 products.
I was told no, you won’t find that flimsy stuff in our drawers!
Very happy with this answer I purchased the two drawer sets. (As I’ve had drawers previously and always the first bits to let go)
They arrived, and had thin MDF in the side panels of the cabinet and in the base of the drawers.
Again, do the staff actually see and know what thy are selling?

However, the communication was excellent and fast.
Shipping was great, to my door.
Yet to fill the drawers with clothes.

Part of bed was not delivered

Part of bed was not delivered, I then received 3 different versions of why and then had to wait another week for the missing piece.

Within 2 months of purchase the springs in my mattress were making popping sounds and customer services told me to take pictures and video footage but because the sounds happened at random times it was impossible to capture. Customer service was antagonising asking for the impossible, they simply do not care about customer satisfaction and act like car dealers after a sale with no remorse. Now I'm stuck with a costly mattress under warranty and they won't give me a replacement because Beds 4 U are OK with ripping customers off. Disappointed with this manufacturer to say the least.
