Wish they'd sort their SSL protocol out

Had some great items from them over the years but can no longer order due to issues their side with their SSL protocol. Contacted them to tell them repeatedly but nobody is interested - when I've done every potential troubleshoot available my side it's clearly an issue on their server but nobody will look at it.

Don't buy

Don't buy! The sizes are always 2-3x too small! & Poor quality! I used to be a size 8! & Back then they never fit properly & all the pants are Brazilian thong style length! Absolutely annoyed. I heard Disturbia is the place to shop. Will be going there from now on.

Despite the mixed reviews l have had overall great value clothing in the sale, and good customer service.
Quality can be variable and with mainly synthetic materials, but if you can get it for the right price, you can’t go wrong!
No complaints from me.

Patchy, unreliable, need to try stuff on!

Patchy! Banned do lovely clothes, shoes and bags, but only really if you can try them on! I've purchased a few items in stores that stock Banned Retro, Banned, Banned Apparel & Dancing Days By Banned. But if you haven't tried on in store, not worth it I'd say. They do amazing sales sometimes with dresses down to £4 or so, but they do tend to rotate the same x number of stock for these sales, for example I bought a skirt in the sale 7yrs ago which they still sell. And the same 9 other skirts, dresses and bags since this time. They also never put their new stuff online on offer, its only the old warehouse stock. Their clothes are OK quality, depends really on the item, some are great, like I've got some goregous skirts, but I've also had spit through material dresses, tent material skirts and bags that clasp has broken on. So very very patchy! Really need to try them on, and even if it's the same item in a different colour, don't expect it to be the same size or fabric I've made this mistake. Safe to say you take a risk. It's expensive delivery but if it's cheap enough sale could give a go, just don't trust size charts 100%. I think most of my orders if I buy 10 things I often keep 1/2 of them max, then give rest to charity.

Paid NEXT DAY delivery 30 days ago and they STILL have sent my order despite me chasing them constantly!!!

***UPDATE 30 days since I placed my order, and I STILL have not received anything!
I got an email on the 14th to say my parcel was being dispatched, and it never arrived!
I checked the tracking and saw they mailed it to the HOLIDAY LET that we had been staying at over xmas, instead of my home address, despite me emailing Sammy in December to tell her that we were only going to be there for two weeks and if they couldnt get their company in order to send my "Next day delivery" parcel within two weeks it would need to be sent to my home address instead!
I provided that to them and Sammy ackowledged that address and said they would dispatch to my home address, as they now were all off for xmas and not back until the new year.
So chasing her up a few times over the new year, plus reminding her of the home address to now dispatch to still resulted in them sending it out to a remote location in Scotland instead, and then ignoring emails from me when I have pointed out they have made an error and I will never receive that parcel as i dont live in Scotland!
An ABSOLUTE JOKE OF A COMPANY!
Stick to only buying BANNED items from Vinted and Ebay and DO NOT DEAL DIRECT with this joke of a company!

Bought 4 items on the 19/12/24 as a christmas present for my 16 yr old daughter and paid NEXT DAY DELIVERY 28 DAYS AGO, and still have not received a thing!
When i didnt get my order, I emailed on the 21/12, as theres no phone number to call, and they didnt even bother responding until the 23rd Dec!
No apologies for not bothering to send my order or anything, just an excuse that one of the items was out of stock (despite showing as IN STOCK on the website still!)
I said it was a christmas present for my daughter and should have been there on the 20/12- why didnt someone have the courtesy to bother to contact me if that was the case?
They didn't care at all, but just told me :
"Unfortunately, we regret to inform you that we are unable to dispatch your order at this time, as our warehouse team is currently on a holiday break and will return on January 2, 2025.
In light of this, we can offer you two options:
-A full refund for your order.
-Hold your order and dispatch it with the replacement as soon as our team returns, provided the item is back in stock."

I told them to replace the out of stock item with a red belt instead then, and was then promised by Sammy that: "Hello Katrina,
I already forwarded your request to our fulfillment team and we will get back to you once they are back by next week or 2.
Have a Happy New Year!
Regards,
Sammy"
Keep in mind here that I paid *NEXT DAY DELIVERY for my items!
23 days later I have not received my order, no offer to refund my "Next day delivery" costs, and no further communications since the 30th december!
Fortunately I purchased using Paypal, and I have no choice now but to open a dispute and get my money back.
What a SHOCKING COMPANY!
NEVER EVER AGAIN will I order from this shambles of a company!
What an absolute joke!
They shouldnt be allowed to run a business!
Shame, because I like their clothes, but i will buy from ebay or vinted second hand as I have always done...
And my poor daughter who never got her present has learned that not all retailers are honest or organised!
I would be so ashamed of my company if I ran a business like this- it's diabolical!

Violate UK distance selling regulations + poor quality

I ordered some clothes in a recent sale. Several of the items were badly made and of very poor quality. When I informed them of my intention to return I was told that they do not accept the return of sale items. Which is a clear violation of UK law... I pointed this out but they doubled down. Luckily I have paid through PayPal and will be able to obtain my refund without any issues but I obviously will never order from them again. And I will report them to Trading Standards.

No issues

I ordered from bannedretro.com despite the reviews as it was ghe only way go get my size. Tracking number came through a couple of days later and it was delivered without any issues. Product was exactly the right size and looks great.

Chaotic

As other reviews mention, the website for Banned Retro (same company as Banned Apparel) in no way reflects what is actually in stock or what eventually turns up. I won’t go into delays and dirty/wrong items as it’s possible it was a failing business bought up by someone with no tech help, no communication and a warehouse of people on less than minimum wage in which case I’d feel a bit sorry for them. But you can tell something is wrong if a search crashes a webpage. As someone else suggested, if you want to know what you’re getting and have it turn up on time in a decent state or have proper customer services, use places like Collectif.

Not transparent policies and expensive returns

The items are of reasonable quality although the sizing is very off - the dress I ordered should have been on the slightly large side for me according to the size chart and doesn't even zip up.

Extremely non-transparent shipping policy - there is a corner of the website if you dig very deep where it says next day orders need to be in by 12pm, it's not made clear when purchasing and at no point does it state that even when they eventually pick it up it will be next WORKING day not next day.

Paid an inordinate amount of money to get next day delivery as it included a gift for a friend, turned up 4 days later all in all. No invoice included in the bag and when asked how to do returns without an invoice I was told to write the reasons for return on the invoice. So who knows how that will go when they receive these items back.

Oh, and I need to pay for the return as well of a fairly large packet that's likely to set me back another £10 or so on top of the £12 I paid for apparently a 4 day delivery turnaround.

Go use Collectif, they have great quality items and actual customer service.

Happy customer!!

After ordering and not receiving an order confirmation I was checking the reviews and this made me a bit concerned. I mailed my concerns and got a very quick and super friendly response from customers service to my email (and my order confirmation). Quick delivery afterwarts, beautiful clothes and shoes, a very happy customer here!

AVOID! IT issues mean extra charges and no stock

Firstly, their promo emails promise free shipping for orders over £50, but I was charged £8.99 with no option to choose otherwise. Contacted them, and they said they never offer free shipping. Sent them pics proving they advertise they do, and they agreed to refund, saying it was an IT issue.
Two days later, I received an email saying that the boots I ordered (present for my daughter) are now unavailable. Pointed out to them that the website still says they are available in the required size. Their reply was, “we have notified our IT team and they have changed it”.
A dispatch email was subsequently received stating that the boots had been sent. This is another IT error that only worsens the situation. Sammy has confirmed that they are definitely out of stock.
Having read the correspondence again, I can see that there is also another item that I ordered that I am now told is out of stock. Just checked their website again, and sure enough, it's still available to purchase and stating 'In Stock'.
To say I'm disappointed is an understatement!
I love Banned Retro stuff, but sadly, their haphazard purchasing process and customer service seriously let them down. I now realise I am not the only one to experience such issues. It will be interesting to see if I get my refunds - or perhaps they'll have IT issues with that too.
I will not be buying directly from them again and I suggest that anyone else who is considering doing so, thinks twice.

Goodbye Banned Retro

Opened an account, bought two pairs of shoes. Wanted to show my friend. Password wrong. Tried 20 times over the evening and next day and it would not send me a link to reset password. Have used that little speech bubble which is a waste of time. Have emailed them twice. Their email address is hello@bannedretro. Sorry that should be goodbye@banned metro. Will be very surprised if I even receive my order.

Never shopping here again

Firstly I would like to state, I would give 0 stars if I could. I ordered 10 items from the website that happened to be on sale, that I was planning to buy. I received a confirmation of my order and a tracking link the next day. Then on the 1st June the tracking link said my shipment had been cancelled. So I emailed not expecting a response until Monday 6th due to the bank holiday weekend, however I got a response on the next day (the only good part of their service) which was rather condescending, asking if I was sure it was a parcel from them. UPS state the company the package is coming from so I was beyond sure, that and this was the only order I placed recently. During this condescending email I was informed that 4 items of my order was out of stock and that I would not receive these items. When I enquired about this in my reply they gave the pitiful excuse that stock changes daily, and never explained why they didn't advise me of this until after I sent my enquiry about the cancellation of shipment. They said that my order would be shipped in the next few days. On Moday I received a confirmation of shipping email from Banned Retro that had all 10 items in there, so i enquired with customer service to see if this was true or if I was still to expect 6 items, I was told it was an error by the automated system and wouldn't be receiving all 10 items. Yesterday (7th) I received my parcel expecting 6 items, I only received 5, much to my disappointment and annoyance. When emailing the customer service again asking for an explanation I received a rubbish apology, a confirmation of a refund and told me that they forgot to advise me of the 5th item that was out of stock, despite me mentioning the number of items out of stock in SEVERAL emails, on top of all of this, they included the parting words of them looking "forward to welcoming you back to Banned Retro!" I am appalled and disgusted by the customer service skills of this company, and I will never shop with them directly again. I wish I'd listened to the reviews and not shopped here.

UNHAPPY EX LOYAL CUSTOMER

Have been a customer of Banned for a long time. When I ordered a few items that happen to be reduced I kept 1 item & returned the rest, 3 weeks later and no communication from them! I've e mailed twice now only to be told I won't get a refund because the items were reduced. God knows what happens to the clothes! Obviously I won't be dealing with this company ever again!!
