While browsing books yesterday I was asked for my card number- that immediately generated a charge for 16$.
Today I was told that free 30 day trial does not apply because I used App and it is valid only when you log in directly to their website.
Definitely false advertising.

I was signed on by mistake and immediately canceled the service on the same day but still they kept charging me the next month, and there is no way to delete your payment on the website or app. Still try to get my money back. You have to do online search to find the phone number for this business, horrible!

Signed me up to a regular subscription without my knowledge. This is a rouge company!

Automatically charged me without giving consent that I wanted to continue after the 30 day free trial which only allowed me to listen to one book anyway, not 3 like it says. Then it’s ticked in from the start that it should take out credit automatically, they did and then I thought that at least then I’ll use it for a month and I have already got ticked in the box so they won’t charge me whenever. but now I can only listen to one book and it says it’s 16.95 aud / month for a subscription but surely that doesn’t allow you to only listen to one book? Also extremely bad with explaining anywhere how many hours/books you get for the monthly payment you’ve made. Extremely disappointing.

I'm currently using their 30-day free trial, which all their advertisement says you get 3 free audiobooks. However, that's not true. You only get one free book, so they're using false advertisement and the bot in their website denies their own advertisement. A quick google search confirms their 3-books statement. They're basically lying, I won't subscribe.

Does not have the same quantity of books available as Audible. Also, customer service is terrible. I had an issue with my Visa card being cloned. Most other companies notify you of an issue and allow you to pay in another way. Not Audiobooks. They suspended my account without any notification. Despite over 3 years of monthly payment. I did try to make contact. The usual AI responses. So, I've moved to Audible. Less expensive and a better service. If I could give them 0 stars I would.

The only reason I am giving this site 2 stars is because they did have books that I enjoyed listening to, but low and behold if you try to cancel they will use every kind of ploy to not cancel and continue to get the membership fee. Can’t find your account, what’s your email again (even though they are actively sending me emails constantly), sorry I have been sick, sorry this, blah blah that.

Be carefull when you buy they set you up for a monthly fee not telling you…just really bad business cheating ppl👎
Been writting several times and No response back!

I have been subscribed to audiobooks for what must be years now. I never had a problem and loved that if I had a spell of not listening to much I could easily use the chat to put the account on hold. I would still be able to access the books I already had but wouldn't acrue any more credits.
I then got a new phone and had forgotten my password. I tried the reset password request but nothing. I emailed on the 31st October, and made several more password reset attempts and I've heard nothing from any of them 3 weeks later. I've also noticed that every time I check the live chat it is just unavailable, regardless of the day or hour.

I had wanted to access my audiobooks for my holiday to listen to a specific book. But that holiday has long past and it seems entirely pointless having an audiobooks subscription if you can't access it and have to buy the book anyway.

This is a very poor app, and the charges are increasing without explanation. There are lots of other options that are way lower cost or almost free and with apps that work. I recommend not signing up, or if you are signed up, cancel and use one of the many good services.

They charge you for the free trial. Once they do a 0.00 euro bank confirmation, you get a second change one minute later for 15 euro. I got a response from their customer service saying this
“
We do require a pre-authorization to be run, and approved, at the subscription price in order to start the free trial. We are a subscription based company, so we run this to ensure that if the customer chooses to stay with us for a paid membership, the billing details are valid and able to support the subscription.

Please let me know if there is anything else that I can help with.”

So it’s basically just a can and the free trial costs 15 euro

Get your first book free is a lie! You don’t get to choose a book I tapped on use credit and they charged me $20 instead. I was under the impression I am paying with my one credit. But no. And what I am supposed to do with that credit if I can’t use it for the book I wanna read. You probably can only use it for the least ever read books they have . Don’t waste your time with Audiobooks.com

Absolutely appalling customer service.
I have been billed twice now for a subscription I never actually signed up for and have never used.

I emailed the customer service who repeatedly ignored what I was saying in my emails and kept referring me to log in to cancel my account. I can't log in as I never signed up and so don't have any account details. They have refused to refund me and are continuing to take money from me.

Audiobooks has put unauthorized charges on my credit card. SCAM

This site is a scam. I canceled my subscription and my account. They changed my user name so I could not access my account and kept charging me. Really dodgy stuff. No help over email asked them to cancel and refund and they didn’t do either. Had to go through the bank.

I have been happily using this app for months. Affordable books. Wide selection.

Shocking. Confusing to navigate.

Company promotes a tree trial, asks for your card information which is totally fine. But before I could even start browsing the website this scam of a company sent underneath me and stole $20 from my account claiming to "need to verify the account" paypal does this with pennies.. these folks straight up rob you. Go find another audiobook spot.

To get a free credit I had to sign up only to discover it was was hard to cancel my account. For a start there was no communication at the beginning as to how to cancel just a donotreply service. There was no phone or E-mail communication intially and after they got your money it was still difficult to cancel. I had to go online to get their Customer Service. In the end I got my Bank to Block their direct debits. Also, they did not have the American books I wanted and refused to give me a refund!

I wrote a detailed review and it did not get published! Why?
Scam and dishonesty. I did not realized I "sign up" after the trial period and ended up paying for one book about $170 (I was away for some month). As I said I listed all that in a previous review.
When I communicated to the company NO RESPONSE WHAT SO EVER. Chat was ended as soon as I stated the problem. Be careful. I would not recommend them.
