We went to see the property and the agent, George, was late. We liked it and he asked us to put an offer on the property ASAP, there was another viewing one hour after us. He sent us a predefined offer by email, we signed it, then we heard nothing. We emailed, called and texted the agent for a few days, there was no answer. We ran into him on the street and asked him what happened, he told us somebody else submitted an offer 10 minutes before us and our offer was not even sent to the landlord. We did not believe the story for one second, we asked him how could the people after us submit the offer before us, it was not physically possible. And why they would not send all the offers to the landlord to decide, which is common practice? Horrible service, unprofessional and shady behavior, the negative reviews here are correct, avoid this agency at all costs!

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!

I am warning everyone to stay away from ATKINSON MCLEOD Agency! Without a doubt, this is the worst agency I have ever dealt with. This agency is renting apartments without basic and essential health and safety checks. They rent apartments that have been recently 'refurbished' to only present well for viewing, however still not fit for rent. As safe and free from health hazards checks have not been completed, it was unavoidable for me to experience significant health issues and high-stress levels. If the correct checks were in place, the apartment wouldn't be on the market! Money is the only priority in their 'books,' As soon you pay the deposit and the money, THEY are happy. The moment things go wrong from the tenants' point of view, the agency does not provide any support and leaves you alone to fend for yourself.
I will advise you demand to see valid gas/electrical certificate and EPC (minimum rating D) before you commit yourself or sign a new tenancy agreement contract.

I wouldn't use Atkinson McLeod again if they paid me to do so! As a tenant the experience is awful. You have to keep on chasing them and asking for update even when basic necessity things like electricity and boiler stop working, and still they behave rudely and don't care about anything else but money.

Working with Patricia was an incredibly helpful experience. She was with us throughout each step and has helped us with every question we had!

Requested viewing/information for a good number of properties but never received a response. For one or two other properties, we did receive a response initially but they never managed to arrange the viewing. This has happened with 3 properties that I have enquired. It's the Wapping branch mostly with the agent's name being Danny.

I'm shocked Atkinson McLeod has a 4.5 rating on Trustpilot based on my experience renting from them.

Their agents were clueless, didn't answer emails, forgot to return our deposit and only responded when sections from the Tenancy Act were quoted at them. I can't blame the agents themselves for this, as they were clearly doing their best.

There is a distinct lack of training and support from management for front-line agents, which became particularly clear when someone more senior (last name matches half of the company name) stepped in after our regular agent resigned. He was knowledgeable, but spends too much time with landlords talking about yields -- as a renter, interacting with him made it clear that the people living in these poorly maintained investment properties are just an inconvenience.

Two stars because the bar in London for letting agencies is so low. You could, unfortunately, easily do worse than Atkinson McLeod, and probably don't have much of a choice.

I felt compelled to leave this review because the service we received from Atkinson Mcleod was just nothing short of excellent. We dealt with several people and they were all brilliant. Very friendly and professional service. Thoroughly recommend to anyone.
