Very cross and disappointed would never use again.
Missing items, reduced quality and no customer service
Ive used this company several times over the last few years without issue until this time. I placed an order, and paid for quick delivery. Half of the order didnt arrive and the bag of mix up sweets was poor quality and lots of a couple of varieties of sweets. Ive emailed and tried to call several times but get no reply and phone rings out. Such a shame as this was a brilliant company at one point but looking st recent reviews here this seems to now be the normal way of working. Wouldn't recommend and will be using a different supplier in future.
Good product - LOUSY customer service
I have bought sweets from A Quarter of since 2006. They have generally arrived promptly and the orders have been correct. I think the quality and prices are reasonable.
BUT I have just ordered £20+ worth of sweets which did not arrive.
- I sent a message via the website - no response
- I sent two emails asking what had happened - no response
- I telephoned several times and the phone was not picked up and no answer service.
The customer service is non-existent. Absolutely useless. So, any order becomes a matter of chance.

I have used this company for the last few years without issue, until now.
The items received where not mine, I sent this back, under the impression of previous orders and communication being very good and no issues.
However none of my emails via website or direct have been responded to, phone calls never picked up, and bad review left via website prompted no response either.
I'm not sure if ownership has changed, but I will not be using them again.

Extremely Disappointed - Wrong Item Sent; No Response to My Complaints
I’ve ordered from A Quarter Of several times in the past and always had good service, but sadly my most recent experience has been awful.
For my most recent order, I received the wrong item: a Victorian jar of Penny Mix instead of the Victorian jar of The Best Boiled Sweets You’ve Ever Tasted that I actually ordered. On top of that, the acid drops I also ordered tasted completely wrong -a chemical flavour and an oily smell.
I contacted the company via their website on Sunday 18 January asking how to return the items and obtain a refund, but I never received any reply at all. I also sent them a follow-up email - again no response.
What makes this situation worse is that they found time to email me afterwards asking for a positive review, despite ignoring my complaints. I was offended.
After years of being a loyal customer, this experience has really put me off using them again. Good customer service matters to me, and in this case it was completely lacking.
All talk, no attention paid to customer
First time error is allowable on their part. For me to give them a second chance is my error.
Used one before and they sent wrong item which to be fair they sent out when I told them of the error. However, giving benefit of doubt and using them again this year they have made EXACTLY the same mistake again. Don't they read their orders? We are all busy, it's Christmas but they have not answered emails or answered the phone. Being conscientious at work doesn't seem to exist anymore.

failed delivery. no explanation
placed an order on the 12th Dec. Its now the 18th Dec i have tried to contact them via emails and phone calls but they do not respond to any. I'm currently in contact with my bank to get my money back as it was a large order. It has really gone downhill. I will not be using a quarter of again.

Ordered sweets on the 5/11/25 and paid £3.99 for quick delivery next day. Order arrived 3 days late. Asked for refund of £3.99 totally ignored. Don't answer phone or emails.

Very poor in response for my complaint! Pointed out to them that they have sold a part prefer of mine that’s “best before “ date is 5 months out (old stock)..I requested a replacement but they have not responded at all…terrible!! DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE…
A Quarter Of are Expensive and Zero Customer Service
My first mistake was ordering via Amazon instead of going direct to A Quarter Of. This cost me £10 more than it should. My next mistake was expecting a reasonable level of customer service from A Quarter Of. There was none. Their inability to deal with a simple request and respond to my messages showed nothing but a complete lack of regard for their customers. I was a returning customer but I will not be purchasing from A Quarter Of again. £50. Expensive, terrible customer service.
A good experience
I made an order for 5 different types of sweets and all seemed well but no confirmation email arrived. I looked at the reviews here and feared the worst.
I had no order number or any details apart from the time of the order and the amount paid but I contacted them by email and received a reply in less than 24 hours to confirm that the order had been processed and supplying me with my order number and a tracking number. The package turned up on time and as ordered.
I can only speak as I find and for me, apart from the lack of email confirmation, the process was flawless.

Shows a 5 star food hygiene rating - click on the hygiene rating on their website, takes you to the food standards agency - guess what - no trace of the company on the FSA! No answer to phone call or email. This is the 2nd online sweet shop I have narrowly avoided placing an order with! Phew!

SENT MY ORDER OUT VIA ROYAL MAIL WHEN I PAID FOR AMAZON SHIPPING 1 DAY ! PAID 20/5/25 AND ON 26/5/25 THE SELLER REQUESTED MY ORDER BACK ??? MY ORDER WAS SENT TO THE WRONG PART OF THE COUNTRY!! THEN WAS SAT AT A ROYAL MAIL DEPOT FOR 7 DAYS !! THEN FOR IT TO BE RE DIRECTED TO THE CORRECT SORTING OFFICE THEN FOR A QUATER OF TO REQUEST MY ORDER BE SENT BACK TO THEM !!!!??? WITH NO EXPLANATION WHAT SO EVER … SO THEY HAVE TAKEN MY MONEY £25 AND I HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE ORDER WHAT A DISGRACEFUL COMPANY THIS IS , NOW I HAVE TO DO A PAYMENT DISPUTE/ CHARGE BACK VIA MY BANK FOR GOODS NOT RECEIVED , SO IM OUT OF POCKET FOR AT LEAST 4 WEEKS THANKS TO THIS AWFUL COMPANY AS I CAN NOT DISPUTE UNTIL 14 DAYS HAS ELAPSED.. SO NO I 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND A QUARTER OF TOTAL SHAM !!

Similarly to other reviews, purchased a hamper of sweets via a cashback site, only for this company to decline for no reason.
Overpriced for what you get, now even more expensive given the cashback not getting paid.
Would definitely not recommend or use again - overpriced and dishonest.

Bought goods from this company at Christmas through cashback. A Quarter of pulled cashback with no reason. Wouldn't use again.
Fast speeedy delivery
Fast delivery is a must if you want something that gives a vibe of days gone by. I will be shopping here again - amazing packing, amazing quality, loving the products.
Low quality scam
Just pulled a box out of my bin which seems to have been designated a 'safe place' by Royal mail. I did not request this. Long story short, keep your money this is a scam unless you enjoy low quality, quite possibly, out of date sweets. I should have left them where I found them because that's exactly where £35 worth of rancid confectionary is going, back in the bin. You've been warned !!
