Transunion stinks!!! The are the worst. The other two Equifax and Experian have my scores in the 700s, Tranny has me in the 620s!!!!! How is this possible same accounts and balances. They are fraudulent idiots.
Rude and Unprofessional behaviour
I had an extremely disappointing experience with TransUnion. I reached out for support and was put on hold for over an hour, only to have the call abruptly disconnected without any resolution. To make matters worse, the representative I spoke with before being placed on hold was incredibly unprofessional and rude. This level of customer service is unacceptable, especially from a company that handles sensitive financial information. I expected better and hope they address their customer service issues promptly.

This is the worst company out of the 3 credit reporting agencies. They have horrible technology, and their website is very problematic. It never works. You are forced to use their service and if you ever try to unfreeze or freeze your account it takes over an hour. I wish I could completely opt out of their services. Their website does not work properly, and they will just drag you through the chat and through text. The 1-800 number will kick you out after 30 minutes and you have to do it all over again.
DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR TRAP!!
There is a paid version they shove in your face: Don't take it! There's a free account, called control center. After paying for their 30 buck a month subscription, like a damn klutz, I realized I had been scammed. In fact, this paid service offers you next to nothing, aside from the chance to lose money. Then, after cancelling the subscription, I went through an entire odyssey to try and set up my free account-- an hour and a half later, no luck. I still haven't been able to get into my free account to initiate a credit freeze--an option, that the paid account doesn't even offer!!!! All they offer is credit lock, which is a temporary thing that gets unlocked once your subscription ends. Wow!! It's almost like they're trying to exploit their captive audience!! Such a surprise. Get in, and get out with this corporation. Ugly, ugly people running the show up there.
Customer support failures
I tried for TWO HOURS to simply reset my login password - no reset email ever arrived although my account info was later verified. I called phone support FOUR times - calls were dropped and then I received the wrong info. The website would not accept data entry into the requested fields. I tried using 2 different laptops and my phone. I did not copy/paste requested info. I downloaded the app which also failed to allow me to reset a password. I finally reached a fantastic agent that sent me a reset email. This should've been a 2-minute process. A call shouldn't have been necessary at all. The website does not function well for this task.
Phone support, website, app, agents... all failed a very simple request, multiple times. My career was spent working in IT/Web design/Computers - not inexperienced here. Resetting login credentials via website needs improvement.

I activated a credit freeze and cannot deactivate it. It will not let me log in, change my password, or reach anyone over the phone. It gets stuck on "enter your SSN", but it never registers it. A complete mess.

For something as important as your annual credit reports, do not go to this website!! Even if you do you will not get a credit report. All it did was make me fill out a form (the same form 3 times for each credit bureau) and then tell me that I couldn't request my report online at this time suggesting that I really it try again later. 20 minutes on this website with absolutely no results. Pointless.

Considering that transUnion is resposible for 200 million people's data being compromised, I find it difficult to understand why any institution would use their service, particularly their car insurance background report. They collect anything out there whether accurate or just plain wrong and don't bother to verify anything. And trying to log onto the website is like a dog chasing it's tail. They need to go away.

Their customer service staff are a bunch of low quality, value, ability, and performance. Tried to freeze account online couldn't, tried customer service they have no clue

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! There is a security breach and I merely want to put a credit freeze on my account. TransUnion will not allow me to access my account. I answer all their security questions and they confirm there is a problem on their end. I finally can log in and in doing so am asked to change my password, which I do and hopefully, I succeeded with the freeze. I then just want to make sure all is correct and again I cannot access my account.

It's scary that these guys hold the key to my credit rating and financial well being. I've been trying for days to log into a new account I created. I follow all of the steps and verifications, it shows I'm logged in, but there's a message saying there is a problem on their end. It's been 4 days now. I can't get anybody on chat, text, or phone. Not even Facebook. So here I sit with my data are the darkweb with no way to protect myself. I see a class action lawsuit in the making. I had no problems at all freezing my credit with the other two agencies. Simply logged in and hit "FREEZE" I even verified all of my info over the phone with the stupid worthless AI and they still tell me I have to wait over 100 minutes. Who needs Bidenomics when we have TransUnion. FIX YOUR WEBSITE!

I just tried to open a new bank account and I had forgot that my new phone provider put down the wrong apartment number and I told my new provider to please correct it and change the apartment number to the write apartment number and they want me to do a hole bunch if stuff to do it myself and I already tried this yesterday for 3 hours and said screw it because I can't get it to work I called them back to inform them of what was going on and they wouldn't pick up my calls because i got upset at the guy I first spoke to about him saying it's up to me to do it if everything mm

So simple to set a credit freeze and lift it temporarily that other credit reporting agencies could learn a thing or two from Transunion.
They are incredibly deceptive
They are incredibly deceptive. Trying to unfreeze my credit report, which should be done for free, but there is no option in their website to do this when I am logged in. Not for free, "Federal law requires the credit bureaus to allow consumers to freeze and unfreeze (also called thawing) their credit reports at no cost". The paid site is always available. There is a separate link to unfreeze specifically, but while being logged in already to the account, it asks me to login again, which I can't do, because it does not recognize the account. Called so many times to verify my data, either put on hold, or transfer to a text based system that is just trash. Is this the future??? why are they still on business? every site has thousands of bad reviews on them
TU does not really believe in security
As I write this I'm on hold with TU for the 2nd time. Why - because they are running an identity protection campaign for a company that got hacked. Signed up and immediately got an email saying I'm locked out. Turns out because I used a VPN. To state the obvious, a company supposedly concerned about keeping data safe won't allow access via VPN! So I get an email with a temp password to allow access after they reset my account. Only there is no temp password, just the boilerplate and a blank line. Hence my 2nd lengthy hold. Turns out they are having technical difficulties. I ask to be sent a reset once fixed. They can't do that. Maybe I can call back tomorrow or the next day is the best they can offer. NICE!
Questionable information
Where do I start, all 3 of these credit reporting companies are very biases, it is not good for all 3 of these companies be in charge of people worth, due to their lack of fairness these companies are getting rich off people with not so good credit, the system really needs to change, these 3 bureaus should not be left to be able to make the call on everyone's worth, i actually hate this platform that makes the calls for what you can get in life, because can these 3 reporting system really be trusted
Poor customer service skills
This company's customer service skills are entirely disgusting. The agents are rude and will cold transfer your call and the managers will hang up in your face. I had an issue, the 1st agent was not able to provide me additional assistance so she transferred my call to escalations, there I spoke with a very rude white woman who attempted to tell me why my credit was off not actually knowing that I'd been in finance for over a decade with excellent credit. Her half ass explanation was completely inaccurate and when I told her that she cold transferred my call. I got on a call with another agent and asked to speak with the manager, I spoke with Max who attempted to put the issue off on another company and provided no assistance. When I explained that I had already called that company as well as checked my credit score he placed me on hold for serval minutes when came back on the line and ended the call.

I called and was placed on hold for more than 30 mins before I gave up. They didn't give any indication either how long the hold time was going to be.
They have no e-mail support. No live chat. Nothing.
This is what happens when there is no free market, no competition. What's wrong with America?

Incompetent, understaffed, unresponsive, unfit for purpose.
TransUnion wiped my credit file when I became registered on the electoral role. My local council had issued me with a slight change to the first line of my address, according to what they said the official name of the property had to be. I.e. from "Flat 17 Burnley Road" to "17 Burnley Road". Experian and Equifax had absolutely no issue with this and just updated their records accordingly. Transunion decided to wipe my credit file completely due to this amend on the electoral register.
I called them and wrote to them to request they fixed it, and they got back to me after 4 weeks requesting proof I was on the electoral register. I promptly sent it to them, and have chased them twice in follow up over the 6 weeks following that, and have heard nothing back.
These guys are appallingly bad as a credit ref agency.
