I am a new customer of Amcare group and I am really chuffed. I have struggle with pouches because I also have a kidney problem I have a very high fluid intake so I have a overactive Stoma I can't go to far from the bathroom. I have had problems with ballooning and leakers but a couple of months ago I had a sample of the esteem mouldable pouches they have done wonders for my confidence I have been able work in
Garden again I sometime forget I have it on and with people like Reuben at amcare to talk to also helps my confidence I am now a happy chappy Sion Curtis.

I’m almost 3 months post colectomy. I have an allergy to medical adhesives and I’ve tried so many different bags.
Callum Yates was very patient and helped me find the right product - he went above and beyond- I have now moved my prescription over to the Esteem bags because this.
Competitors did not offer any type of follow-up, kind words, etc., on my journey wi the them — having someone like Callum there is majorly impactful when you’re in recovery and need helpful and empathetic advice.
Highly recommend.

Brilliant service
My wife recently had a drain fitted relating to a gall bladder issue. Following initial discharge from Hospital (and at that time awaiting a date for surgery) arrangements were made by a District Nurse for my wife to be prescribed fresh supplies of Convatec urostomy pouches and flanges (these items link together forming an overall drainage system).
We discovered on a recent Saturday morning that because of a miscommunication sitting somewhere between a District Nurse, a GP Surgery and a local Pharmacy incorrect Convatec items had been prescribed (I make it clear Amcare were not involved that time). This meant that on that Saturday morning a District Nurse was unable to change a pouch and flange that had been in place for a week.
We had no spare supplies of the correct items needed and the issue was addressed temporarily by the Hospital Ward my wife had recently been on providing on the same Saturday a less than suitable overall large pouch and bag to tide my wife over until the issue was resolved.
Because the issue was discovered on a Saturday the GP Surgery was closed as was our local Pharmacy. I therefore went online to research what the correct items required were and how they could hopefully be swiftly obtained.
I discovered Amcare by Convatec provided not only a weekday customer care phone service but also one on Saturday mornings. I rang Amcare on the same Saturday morning and was assisted by Sarah King who was brilliant.
Sarah guided me through options available referable to appropriate items of stock and she bore with and guided me while I measured items removed from my wife by a District Nurse earlier that day. Through this process we established what was needed and Sarah kindly arranged to send samples of pouches and flanges via a Courier on the next working day (the following Monday) to see if these were suitable. The items duly arrived via DPD on the following Tuesday, and a District Nurse confirmed they perfectly met my wife’s requirements.
Sarah’s assistance was professional, personable, friendly and extremely efficient. I had no previous experience of having to identify what size and type of items were required (the selection available online is vast) and Sarah’s guidance was beyond invaluable. Before ringing Sarah, I was very concerned that my wife’s needs might not be properly met but after speaking to Sarah my concerns were fully addressed.
Subsequently Sarah arranged for my wife’s GP Surgery to electronically prescribe fresh supplies of the products my wife needed; these items were despatched by Amcare on the same day that the Surgery issued the prescription. Again, delivery took place the next day via DPD.
I cannot praise Amcare enough and highlight that the Company also follows up deliveries with phone calls to confirm delivery has taken place and that customer needs are being supported. It is clear customer support is a genuine priority for Amcare and I experienced this in later phone calls received from Gaynor and Sharon who are Amcare Me+ support specialists.
Amcare is an excellent Company. I have read other glowing 5-star reviews of the Amcare on Trustpilot and our customer experience has been equally brilliant.

Excellent & Efficient Customer Service/Support
I've already posted a review very recently, but I had an experience yesterday that definitely warrants some feedback.
Norma from the Stirling office phoned me, I wasn't able to answer, but she left me a very long and detailed voicemail.
She was letting me know that the stoma bag I use is out of stock and they didn't have a date for when it would be available again. So she let said that she was sending me out some samples of one that was the same but with a slightly bigger baseplate, and that she would check in with me next week to see how I got on with them, and if they were suitable she'd contact my GP for me and get them to do an acute prescription from them.
She told me in the voicemail that the baseplate on these bags is about 1cm bigger, so I didn't think that would work for me, as I think that'll take the baseplate too close to my bellybutton. So I phoned back in the evenging and spoke to a really lovely lady called Gaynor. I asked her if the product comes in a smaller baseplate than what I currently use, and if I could try that. She checked for me, and yes it does, and it is in stock, so she said she would organise for some samples of those to leave the warehouse on Monday as the warehouse is closed over the weekend. I also had an idea, and asked her if she could check if the clear version of the bags I use is in stock, as, worst case scenario, if the other sizes didn't work out for me, I would rather put up with those (and just put a fabric cover on them) in the short term rather than have to try and find a different bag to use (previous non-Convatec ones I've tried have not agreed with my skin at all!). She also said she would let Norma know that I had phoned and fill her in on everything we spoke about.
I also discussed an issue I've been having with my stoma with Gaynor, and she was very sympathetic and understanding and told me I wasn't alone and it was something they hear a lot from stoma patients.
My conversation with Gaynor really put my mind at ease as I was quite anxious about my bags being out of stock, but now I feel like there are options.
What I really liked about yesterday was, when I didn't pick up the phone, Norma left a message explaining everything rather than just asking me to phone her back... and the fact that she said she was sending out the samples without me having to phone back and say yes I would like that - and I like that they're sending me samples of the alternative, rather than just changing the prescription.
She basically said "hello, there is a problem, but I have a possible solution for the problem, so I'm sending out something for you to try - however, I do appreciate that the solution I've thought of might not actually work"
I feel like a lot of companies would either just tell me to phone them back (which would just make everything take longer, especially as I wasn't able to phone back right away) or they'd just send out the alternative prescription without communicating with me, and then I could end up with 30 of the wrong bags just randomly being delivered that don't work for me and sore skin, kind of having the attitude that "any bag will do."
I also really liked that Gaynor was happy to send out the smaller samples to me even though the bigger ones were already on their way, rather than just telling me to try those and phone back if they didn't work, and she completely understood why I was asking for them and why I didn't think the bigger baseplate would work for me.
And even once we'd established that the clear version of the same bag I use was still in stock, I think a lot of people would veiw this as the perfect solution and just tell me to place an order for that instead. But, wearing a see-through stoma bag isn't exactly pleasant, and she totally understood why I would want to try and find an opaque alternative first.
She also advised me that trying the different size baseplate may actually help me with the issue with my stoma I discussed with her, and explained why, going into some of the technicalities that goes into the functionality of stoma bags that I didn't know about.
She did not make me feel like I was being silly with not really wanting to use clear bags, and she didn't make me feel like a nuissance (something my previous supplier was very good at!), or that I was taking up too much of her time on the phone. She made me feel like a valued customer.
Later in the day, Jo Hunter replied to an email I had sent her about something else, and also mentioned that her colleage Norma had left a message with me. I thought that was good too, making sure I was aware.
Every Amcare/Convatec staff member I've spoken to seems really knowlegeable about their products, and they really can't do enough for you. They're absolutely determined to find solutions for you and support you all the way, and I'm so grateful to have them on board as part of my care team.

When I first had to choose a stoma bag, I was completely overwhelmed. Everything was new to me, and my English isn't very strong. I felt lost and didn’t know where to start.
Umair Akhtar from Amcare by ConvaTec was absolutely amazing. He took a lot of time to speak with me, explain everything in a way I could understand, and make sure we found the right solution for my needs. Despite the language barrier, he was extremely patient, respectful, and supportive throughout the entire process.
Before speaking with Umair, I had been using stoma bags that were completely wrong for me – they would open unexpectedly and caused me a lot of stress. Thanks to his advice and dedication, we found the perfect stoma bag that works for me. Since then, I’ve been using only that one from Amcare, and I am extremely happy with it.

Mr Akhtar was fantastic and a lifesaver. After using the same product for 14 years, to find out the hard way (through 3 months of constant leaks) that the company had change the formula on the sealant of the stoma bags. I had to start from the beginning again. I contacted Amcare(Convatec) online and requested samples. After a telephone conversation with Mr Akhtar, he sent me new stoma bags. They are amazing! No more leaks, very comfortable, wearable etc. Mr Akhtar kept in contact with me throughout. He is very good at his job and very understanding considering the area we are dealing with. I am most appreciative of Mr Akhtar advise and assistance. I can confidently get on with my life without any further issues. Thank you so much Mr Akhtar for all your help, you really did save my life from complete and utter misery. Keep up the great work, it's invaluable to stoma patients/clients.
