I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Amazon Publishing Assistance regarding the publishing and marketing of my book. Despite my initial enthusiasm, I have faced numerous challenges that have left me feeling undervalued as an author.
My book was originally scheduled for publication on December 10, 2024, but was unexpectedly delayed to January 13, 2025, causing me to miss the crucial Christmas and New Year market. After weeks of silence and lack of communication, I learned from a new project manager that the previous PM had been let go for poor performance. While I hoped this change would bring improvement, the problems continued.
I expected a robust marketing strategy when I purchased APA’s Marketing Package during a Cyber Monday sale. Unfortunately, the marketing team was just as disorganized as the publishing team. I spent countless hours bringing the new manager up to speed with my submitted documents, yet progress was inefficient, and my requests were often met with silence or inadequate responses. The stress from this uncertainty has been overwhelming.
I paid upfront for both publishing and marketing services but received delayed publishing and unprofessional marketing delivery. Frustrated, I have formally requested a cancellation and full refund of my marketing investments multiple times over the past two months, and communicating my intention to impose an additional 5% interest per day on my reimbursement balance from March 25th. Yet, I have only received vague email responses like, “I have forwarded your request to the Finance department; someone will reach out to you tomorrow,” or “I’ll inform them.” Three weeks later, no one has contacted me!
Moreover, I upgraded my website based on APA's recommendations, investing significant time and effort to ensure compatibility with their marketing software. This change resulted in lost data and hours of work that I have yet to recover.
Overall, my experience with APA has been detrimental to my project. I urge other authors to proceed with caution. I have lost faith in their ability to deliver on their promises, and the lack of accountability and support has made this a regrettable partnership.

I want to express my gratitude for the professional devotion of Chad Wilson and his boss Ted Baker in the handling of my book: :"Call it Genocide." They were dealing with a new and difficult format that is used for stage plays and had to guide the typing and editing staff on many occasions.
