Here's what you get for accepting a "gift"

Here's one more unhappy experience with Altice's Optimum on Long Island. I received an email offering a "gift" of a new modem. I drove to the store where a representative never heard of the program and gave me a modem that liked identical to the one I was returning. That modem didn't work, with the best efforts of two Altice techs in another country. That evening I spent at least two hours installing and dealing with the techs for the "gift." Altice/Optimum sent a tech to our apartment the next day and he left a device that combined modem and router. I then wrote Optimum suggesting a small reduction in my monthly as reparation for all that I had gone through. David Maciel rejected that request for the unrepentant company. I'm an idiot, I admit, for accepting the "gift" and for dealing with a company that doesn't care about its customers.

Altice aka optimum Internet aka the worst in America LITERALLY

Altice aka optimum Internet is the complete worst Internet provider across America and I’ve lived in Fort John Fort Campbell, Fort Lewis, and Fort Stewart all at different points of the country and every single Internet provider has beaten optimum by 10,000x longshot! Optimum greedy sales pitch for whenever you call for customer support but yet they always just try to upsell you something rather than fix the problem the horrible customer supports attitude from literally almost everybody that answers the phone IF (and that’s a big IF) they answer the phone or what about the people who try to get in contact with the corporate office however, every time you get in contact with them, they straight up hang up on you or how about the constant secret fees that they charge you after selling you a pitch on a free new item that you have to pay monthly installments of an easily $300 or more item that was claimed to be free. From the high-end fiber optic service to even the wired service where you’re supposed to be getting 500 MB per second to one gigabyte per second and you see people only getting 2 to 15 MB per second. You have to be absolutely ridiculously kidding me we pay $180 a month for the best service apparently right but yet we only get 2 to 15 MB per second that is absurd and the fact that optimum knows this is going on and actively doing nothing to fix. It is even more absurd. This company needs to be getting shut down completely and reimbursing. All of those they did wrong, which I guarantee is literally every single consumer that has ever been with them.

Altice dba Optimum Internet keeps on billing long after cancellation

Altice dba Optimum Internet is continuing to bill after cancellation and payment of my final bill. Optimum/Altice/Suddenlink is notorious for fraudulent billing like this, so I was diligently complaint with the information provided by their billing department in an attempt to avoid this. Did not work.

⭐️ Una experiencia absolutamente inaceptable con Altice República Dominicana

Mi experiencia con Altice en la República Dominicana ha sido, sin exagerar, la peor que he tenido con una empresa de telecomunicaciones.

Contacté a Altice a través de una representante llamada Nalda Ferreras. Al principio parecía muy amable y profesional. El 23 de enero le expliqué claramente que estaría en el país del 12 al 16 de febrero y que necesitaba reactivar mi línea telefónica y el servicio de internet, los cuales habían sido suspendidos en septiembre de 2025. Le recalqué la importancia de mantener el mismo número, algo esencial para mí.

Me prometió que todo estaría resuelto.

Desde el momento en que llegué al país, me comuniqué con ella. Siempre fue cortés, pero completamente ineficiente. Pasé días enteros esperando técnicos que nunca llegaron. No pude salir de la casa por estar “en espera”. Incluso compré un teléfono local porque ella insistía en que mi teléfono extranjero era el problema.

Escalé la situación a supervisores. Nadie resolvía nada. Llegué al punto de contratar a una empleada para que esperara al técnico mientras yo cumplía compromisos, ya que mi vuelo salía el día 16 a las 3 p.m.

Me prometieron el mundo. Nunca fueron. Nunca resolvieron.

Es una empresa que vive de promesas vacías y procesos internos desorganizados. Cero respeto por el tiempo del cliente.

Mientras tanto, Claro me respondió de inmediato y me aseguró que resolverán en 48 horas.

Mi recomendación es clara: Eviten Altice.
Si quieren evitar frustraciones, pérdida de tiempo y promesas incumplidas, busquen otra opción. Claro ha demostrado ser mucho más eficiente y profesional.

Altice no está a la altura del servicio que un cliente merece.

Improper Billing and Failure to Cancel Services

I cancelled Optimum in December 2025 after repeated price increases despite a “lifetime rate guarantee.” I was told my service was cancelled and returned all equipment. They continued billing me anyway. Multiple calls resulted in endless retention attempts, blocked transfers to the cancellation department, and demands that I pay disputed charges before cancellation—despite already cancelling. Extremely frustrating and unethical process. Consumers should be cautious.

I recently switched from Verizon to…

I recently switched from Verizon to tmoble for my phone service. Tmoble has a plan that includes phone service and internet if you are 55 years of age or older that's a lot more affordable. My wife had optimum/Altice for our internet needs. So we were able to also switch from optimum to tmoble in one shot. My wife returned the equipment to optimum and received a receipt. The next billing cycle we received a bill when my wife called customer service/ billing she was told because she failed to call a particular number she could not end service and we will get billed until she did. I wrote a review on Google and their brand reviews responded and stated that to leave this internet company you had to call a disconnect number when I asked again they said it was a retention number . They finally gave me one number for both retention and disconnect! Just recently we finally was set free from optimum/Altice USA

Do not use this company!

Once again, your company has failed me. 2 yrs ago I had asked for two simple things, have my wife removed as primary and me put in place and have her business email removed. NEVER HAPPENED. No big surprise there. I called today to inform your company Optimum / Suddenlink, which I now kindly refer to them as Optimum-less and Sudden-crap, that my ex-wife’s email was comprised and that here clients were receiving phasing emails (I hope you know what that means). Since I was supposedly placed as the primary holder of the account 2 yrs. ago, I was happy to look into it. After contacting your company, I was informed that this did not occur and that she was still showing as primary. Another big surprise! The person was happy to help and in doing so, I now have two email accounts but not able to access my emails as I am stuck in the screwed-up mess created by your company. 3 hrs. on the phone later, still no change. Yesterday, all was good, today after contacting your company, all is gone to the crapper.
I don't call your company as every time I do, you all seem to screw things up worse. Called in to have my DVR replaced, your tech installs a non-DVR box, had to call back to have that corrected. Called in for similar poor service on my video and wouldn't you know it, the tech was provided a standard DVR. This was after two calls to have my appointment cancelled! So, your company really has no clue on what they are doing which means that the leadership, all the way up to you, is the same. You need to get OUT of this industry as it is very clear you have no clue on how to run a business, other than into the ground! There is more to this but I won’t waste my time as I have already spent more 3 HOURS just trying to fix something that wasn't done 2 yrs. ago and a 9th grader could probably have done.

This is the worst provider Ive ever had and they violate privacy they tell you lies the manipulate service they take and don't give you want a service like this you are better off keeping your old service they also use 3 profile here in trust pilot they are a screwball company

Beware of Suddenlink by Altice

We have had suddenlink for home phone, internet and cable for the past eight years. The internet and cable service have been satisfactory but the phone has been horrible. We had submitted so many service requests it is ridiculous. The main problem is that when we have rainy weather the phone goes out. Only one technician in the last eight years found a problem on one of the poles that holds the lines that come into the house. He repaired it and it worked for a while but has become a huge problem again, especially since Christmas of last year. To start with when we called before Christmas it they told us the first available appointment was almost a month out. After filing a complaint with the BBB we got it shortened down to two weeks. The technician of course couldn't find anything wrong and acted as if we were crazy. We called for service again and the tech acted as if we were lying about not having phone service. Suddenlink had even tried to call us during some of these times and could not get through because the phone was not working. Again today we have had hard rain and wind and the phone has been out all day and of course after it dries out it will come back on so it won't be a problem to Suddenlink. This phone is used by my elderly mom as her primary source of communication and has been so unreilable it is pathetic. If they send another tech out that assures us it is not the rain that makes the phone go out he may not be returning to the office that day. What a joke of a company this is. There are no other choices in Kinston NC at the moment but as soon as there are it will be goodbye Suddenlink. It's horrible they are advertising as hard as they can in the area yet they can't even keep the service running for the customers that they already have. If you have choice go with another company.

THEY ARE BEING SPOITEFULK AND NOT FIXING MY EMAILS IVE BEENM LOCKED OUT OF MY SERVERS FOR 2 WEEKS THE WOMEN ON THE PHONE DELETED MY INBOXES I WAS USING THEM FOR SECURITY FOR MY SERVERS MARIO IS SPITEFUL HE SAID THEY CANT GET THE BOXES BACK ANY INBOX CAN BE RESTORED AND THIS WAS THE DAY AFTER MY EMAILS WERE DELETED AN ONLINE MAIL THEY WERE DELETING DORMANT MAIL I WAS WITH THEM 25 YEARS NOW I WOULD NOT GIVE THEM A DIME I CANT USE THE WORDS HERE TRUST PILOT FOUGHT WITH ME FOR 2 WEEKS THIS COMPANY ALTICE IS SCU--M TRUST ME THEIR SERVICE IS HORRIBLE I WAS JUST USING THE EMAILS THE LOST A LOT OF CUSTOMERS BECAUSE OF IT THEY AREN'T WORTHY DONT GIVE THEM YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. I JUST GOT A PLAN WITH VERIZON USING MY OWN STICK FREE TELEVISION COST NOTHING AND ITS CHEAPER THAN ALTICE

Too many sales pitches

Too many sales pitches, rather than focusing on customer service.

Re: Order # 24063091 and account number 07870-802687-02.

Placed this order on 8/5 and canceled this order on phone on 8/6 and person told me I would receive my refund in 2 weeks. I still haven't received refund after 21 days after canceling, let alone confirmation email stating order had been canceled. Twitter, chat, email support all just sales pitched without focusing on my refund when inquired.

Eventually had to get credit card company involved to file a dispute (Other similar reviewers, PLEASE DO THIS instead of wasting your time), also plan on filing a BBB report for stealing my money.

Company needs serious management improvements on handling issues. How are you so full of pride when another big provider (V*) near me provides the same level of speed for 2/3 cost?

I plan to switch out provider for my other account not because of only price, but because of the level of service I received in recent weeks.

Great service and price!

I don't normally write reviews but since people tend to write only negative reviews (and I'm not an Altice employee), I felt that I had to share my experience.  I've had Altice for 2 months and so far the service has been great.  No problems with calls dropping, listening to Pandora in my car and watching TV.  The $21.96 price is awesome!!!   That being said, I do feel that Altice needs to get a customer service phone line as I would be pretty upset if I could not reach someone should my phone service not work.  I would definitely give them a try.
