All My Sons Movers is terrible
This company just provided some of the worst professional service I have seen in a while. Months ago, I called and made a reservation for moving and overnight storage. I did not hear back from them at any point after locking in our reservation. I called today (a few days before our move) to confirm details and was told that they only booked me for moving out but no overnight storage and no move in. Since our move is just a few days away, I was told that there is nothing they can do to accommodate or help us. They made a mistake and refuse to own their own error. Now I have no moving or storage accommodations and it is all thanks to All My Sons. Also the manager I spoke with on the phone was rude and not helpful.
AVOID IF YOU LIVE IN KCMO!
The movers arrived late for starters, having apparently had a really big job earlier. They were quite professional and polite at first, but would not move the mattress without a cover--which they asked us to provide! On top of this, they explicitly disobeyed my orders not to stack my books totes more than 3 high lest the lids break (lo and behold, a couple of lids cracked and one tote broke entirely!). They asked for me to dust off a couple of furniture pieces before they moved them. I did so and they never took them. They also asked for me to assist in carrying a few boxes and totes--which I did.
After taking the mattress and box spring (didn't even wait for me to bring the disassembled frame out!), they went across the street to empty out our storage unit. They started, then decided they would come back and finish on Sunday because they had yet another job arranged after ours that same day. We reluctantly agreed, so they put everything from the house into the unit save the box spring, which would not fit. We paid them for that day's services and they went on their way. Never heard from them or saw our box spring again. When we called their office Sunday, we were told there were no such moves scheduled for that day, and none could be arranged until Monday! Luckily we were able to arrange for another moving company to finish the job on the last day of the month, but the whole ordeal was very stressful.
So, a lot of hassle and money and an incomplete move to show for it. While the movers themselves were professional throughout (if reluctantly so), I'm afraid their manager (who was taking other calls while we were on the line with him!) severely overbooked them that day, and on many other days, I don't doubt.

I wish I could give zero stars. This was one of the worst service experiences I’ve ever had—with a moving company or otherwise.
All My Sons quoted me 3–4 hours for a simple local move, then dragged it out to nearly 8 hours with no urgency, constant phone use, and a complete disregard for the detailed move plan I provided. They used no protective materials—no floor runners, no padding—despite this being standard practice for other customers. My brand-new townhome was damaged, and over $1,000 in household items were broken due to their carelessness.
To make it worse, they offered a laughable $325 settlement—only if I signed a non-disparagement clause. When I declined and followed up, they ignored everything and just resent the same document. No communication, no accountability, just corporate gaslighting.
I’ve filed complaints with the NC Utilities Commission, FMCSA, BBB, and the CFPB. Avoid this company. They are all branding and no integrity.

Sexual Assault, No Apology, No Accountability – Austin South
One of the movers from All My Sons Moving & Storage – Austin South committed sexual assault against my wife during our move by making non-consensual physical contact while she was alone in a room. We filed a police report the same day; the Austin Police Department investigated, and the case is now filed in Austin Municipal Court as a Class C misdemeanor.
Despite acknowledging the report in writing, the company never apologized or reached out to us — not once. No call, no email, no follow-up.
They also damaged our property. When I submitted a claim, they sent a settlement agreement that would have prevented us from speaking publicly about our experience. I refused to sign unless they removed that gag clause. They refused to change it.
No apology. No accountability. No resolution. Just a business protecting itself while customers pay for the privilege of being mistreated and, in our case, assaulted.
The best movers in the area
Even through all the challenges, Tavis, Tevin and Michael were professional, straight forward, no nonsense, get it done men. Fantastic work ethic and incredibly friendly and professional. If we ever have to move again, We are calling All My Sons!

Great movers
Javan and Larry showed up on time. The walked through my to see what needed to be done and then got right to work. The packed everything quick and off to the new house we went. Once we arrived they asked were things needed to go and they began unloading. It was a great experience would highly recommend.

This company lied, ghosted us, wasted our day, gaslit and manipulated us, and left us completely stranded. They have zero accountability, and I’d strongly advise anyone considering them to look elsewhere.
I booked my move over a month in advance and was quoted an 8 AM arrival. I never received a confirmation email, but my deposit was charged. I followed up, confirmed all details again, and was assured of the 8 AM slot. Still, the email I received had no arrival time.
A week before the move, they called to confirm, this time telling me I’d be second in line, with movers arriving “after 10 AM.” That was frustrating but manageable.
Then move day came and they ghosted me. I had to keep calling for updates:
11:00 AM: “They’ll be there at 1.”
1:30 PM: “They’re running behind, 3 PM at the latest.”
2:50 PM: “Now 4 PM.”
Actual arrival? 5:15 PM.
Not once did they proactively call to update me. I had to chase them every step of the way.
When they arrived, the two movers were clearly exhausted from a previous job and very unprofessional, complaining about how long their last move took. They walked through my fully packed half empty apartment (we had made significant progress already in moving things ourselves), then returned to the truck… and vanished. a few minutes later, I got a call from the office saying they wouldn’t complete the move because it was “too much work” and they were “out of time.”
I reminded them I was originally quoted 8 AM and that this was unacceptable. The rep called me a liar and insisted I was always scheduled for the afternoon. He offered to reschedule me three days later, completely unable to find a solution to the fact that my lease was ending the next day.
We were left scrambling to find a truck before closing time (it was now after 6). Thanks to incredible friends and a last-minute U-Haul rental, we finished the move ourselves… by midnight.
Avoid All My Sons. You’re better off doing it yourself.
Miscommunication / No communication / Stress
This was the worst experience with movers. Despite multiple confirmations prior that All My Sons would be at our CT house on the contract date, they didn't show up. We called multiple numbers to figure out what was happening. Hold times were over 30 minutes long. We finally got in touch with our move coordinator Ron and he told us a crew was actually on the way. To be more sure, we eventually reached a Hartford, CT office employee that told us that our move was now being coordinated by the Stratford, CT office. Bruce from the Stratford office was very communicative, and confirmed in the early afternoon that there was a miscommunication and that the best that All My Sons could do is be at our house the next morning. While they showed, our home buyers final walk through had to be delayed. Our items were to be delivered to storage the following day in NC, but once again, were delayed. All My Sons' charged us $200 to hold for an extra night. When the items were unloaded, there were damaged items. The driver took photos and noted a claim form would be sent to us as we purchased insurance. We had to follow up as the form would not have been sent had we not. And low and behold, we were told the driver's photos could not be used!! Preparing for more stress to get through the claim process. Recommend using any other company.
I move a lot
I move a lot. This was the worst moving experience ever. They stored everything from a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 car garage, 2,022 sf home for 10 months. I was assured the storage was climate controlled. It clearly wasn’t, nor was it pest controlled. The movers did the packing and packed open food which attracted mice while in storage.
There were rat’s nests in the boxes when they were delivered, there were items missing and I received another movers items that obviously were not mine.
Their advertising makes you think it’s a family owned company, IT IS NOT.
I gave up trying to get a partial refund because the value of your items is calculated on old maritime shipping rates.
