We rented a private villa which looked amazing on the photos, as soon as we got there we quickly found it was rat infested rat dropping everywhere and even rat wee on our clothes. Now they have the cheek to only offer us less than a quarter of our money back.

We had an amazing holiday in the Algarve. Booked a last minute getaway for our family. Fabulous apartment near to the tennis Club and just a short walk to town. We had a shared pool which was stunning and the kids loved it. Also a private rooftop with a BBQ and fantastic sunset views. It was really so good from start to finish, we booked direct after finding the company host name on a booking portal and managed to save money too by doing this. Great communication throughout the process and a really nice digital guidebook with lots of information and suggestions for the local area. They even phoned us before we arrived to check that everything was ok and we were offered a welcome pack as we arrived really late from our flight. Just basics but so good to have for the kids especially. We would definately come again to Carveoiro.

Booked an apartment in Carvoeiro via Booking.com with this company late August early September 2023. Before we booked we reviewed the website of algarveholidaylets.com It boasted as agents they provide everything you need for a perfect Algarve holiday. Among many other things the company claims to be a trusted and well-respected company offering Algarve holiday rentals since 2003. The company also boast they visit each property they manage once a month. On that basis we proceeded with the booking.
When we arrived it was clear the property was everything that is the opposite to what is said in the over the top reviews. The external environment was run down, unsafe and filthy dirty. The swimming pool was a serious health and safety hazard - tiles missing, dirty, grubby and overall disgusting. The drains in the apartment were blocked and we ended up having to clean them ourselves - just what you need when you are on holiday! The dishwasher was broken when we arrived and was only replaced two days before we departed the property. Electrical cables were exposed in the lobby area to the apartment! The property was advertised with air conditioning - the air conditioning consisted of an electric fan in each room. The reviews on Booking.com could not be authentic - some of them state the swimming pool is the best feature of the property. Our initial complaint was dismissed with a condescending email. We made algarveholidaylets.com aware of the filthy dirty conditions, the broken dishwasher and the blocked drains at the start of our holiday. The agent was fully aware of the very serious health and safety issues with the property and failed to address them. The agent admitted they had never viewed the property and on watching a 2.5 minute video was shocked at the conditions we had to endure. After involving the police, because the agent initially could not provide a complaints book, (a legal requirement in Portugal), we got 50% of the hefty fee we paid returned. Our holiday was ruined we failed to secure alternative accommodation and had to remain at the property for 8 nights. We were glad to get home.
The agent replied to the review we placed on Booking.com but very conveniently avoided the very serious health and safety issues raised. The filthy dirty conditions were neither acknowledged or addressed.
Be extremely careful about booking properties with algarveholidaylets.com!
