Alert Driving School was honestly a great experience from start to finish. My instructor was patient, calm and very clear with every lesson, which helped me build confidence quickly and understand exactly what I needed to improve on. The lessons were well-structured, professional and focused on making me a safe and confident driver, not just passing the test.

I really appreciated the support, encouragement and honest feedback throughout the whole process. I would definitely recommend Alert Driving School to anyone learning to drive, especially if you want an instructor who explains things properly and helps you feel comfortable on the road.

I passed my driving test first time a few days ago thanks to Alert Driving School, and I genuinely could not recommend them enough.

Before learning with Alert Driving School, I had already spent around 6 months with another instructor. Unfortunately that experience knocked my confidence quite badly. A lot of lesson time was spent repeating things we had already covered, communication and booking lessons was often unorganised, and my test ended up being pushed back by three months which was really frustrating.

Moving to Alert Driving School completely changed my experience from the very first lesson. They immediately helped rebuild my confidence and quickly identified exactly what I needed to work on to get test ready. The lessons are very well structured, the teaching style is clear and calm, and everything from payments to lesson bookings is handled in a professional and organised way.

What I appreciated most was the honesty. Alert Driving School does not waste your time or drag lessons out just to make more money. They are open, straightforward, and genuinely want their students to pass as efficiently as possible.

After moving to Alert Driving School I was able to bring my test forward by two months, which saved me a huge amount of time and money. With their help I passed first time.

They are also exactly the same in person as they are on social media. What you see in the videos is genuinely what you get, so they are well worth watching if you are thinking about learning with them.

The lessons may cost slightly more than some other instructors, but the quality of teaching means you progress faster and need fewer lessons overall, which ultimately saves time and money.

I started my very first lesson having never even sat in the driver’s seat before, so I was extremely nervous. From the beginning, Jay made me feel comfortable and supported, and he explained everything in a clear and patient way that really helped build my confidence.

Jay is an excellent driving instructor!! I had a great time in all my lessons and despite them being 2 hours at times they flew by since they were so enjoyable! He is a great teacher and explains things so simply and provides you with great ways to remember key parts of driving. Additionally he is a very thorough teacher helping you to understand each of your weaknesses, when doing a mock test he will go through each and every fault in immense detail with diagrams. He also sends videos of difficult parts of driving and will demo any question you have.

I honestly can’t recommend Alert Driving School enough. I’ve known Jay for a couple of years from looking after his twins, so when it came time for me to start driving lessons, choosing him was an easy decision, and I’m so glad I did. Jay is an amazing instructor. From day one he made me feel relaxed and confident, and we had plenty of laughs along the way. He explains everything clearly, and he made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable.

One thing I really appreciated was how flexible and accommodating he was with lessons. No matter how busy things got, he always managed to work around my schedule and make sure I was getting the time I needed behind the wheel.

One of the best things about Jay is the way he explains things. He doesn’t just tell you what to do, he breaks it down in a way that actually makes sense, even when you feel like you’re overthinking everything. If I was struggling with something, he never rushed me or made me feel silly. He’d calmly go over it again, try a different way of explaining it, or show me a little trick to help it click. You can tell he genuinely cares about you understanding what you’re doing.

Thanks to him, I went into my test today confident and prepared and as a result passed with 0 driving faults!! If you want an instructor who’s friendly, supportive, and genuinely invested in your progress, Jay at Alert Driving School is the one to go for. Highly recommend! Thanks again Jay!

Best driving instructor. Made it very easy to learn how to drive and explained everything really well. Learnt how to drive very quickly with him.

Truly one of the best driving instructors there is, helped me improve on all my faults with care and patience never got angry always calm, respectful and reassuring which ended up in me passing my driving test first time. If you’re thinking of looking for a driving instructor Alert Driving School is the place to go.

I took 2 lessons in June 2025 and ended the second lesson midway and decided to discontinue owing to the following reasons.
I went by the review given on trust pilot and rating of 4.9 and hence decided to give a feedback which can help others.
I was not explained before starting the class what are we learning and what I need to be careful about(atleast something basic).I was asked to start driving the roundabout with on the go instructions and when I did a mistake of not showing the signal while exiting the roundabout(as it’s just ten mins in I was driving roundabout) the instructor shouted very badly on me.My heartbeat went rocket high I become so scared and panicked and obviously did another mistake owing to the panic and again he shouted badly on me.During the 3rd time when he shouted I felt I’ll cry now and told him I’ll like to end my session after an hour instead of 1.5 hours.
I would not recommend this kind of learning where a learner is put under panic,fear and is shouted at.
I am giving this review after taking 6-8 courses with another instructor with whom I didn’t see any such behaviour and he first tells me on a simulator iPad what are we going to learn,which area we are covering and what is the hurdle there that I need to be mindful of

Jay has taught me and four of my family members and helped all of us pass. He is very patient, provides clear instruction and guidance. It has been a real joy to learn with him. He is also friendly, genuine, down to earth and helps put you at ease whilst learning to drive. When I first started I struggled with my steering but with Jay’s guidance, patience and teaching I passed my test first time today. Would fully recommend using Alert Driving School to learn.

Words can’t express how grateful I am for Jay. I previously came from another driving instructor where I felt like my money was just being taken and i wasn’t being taught well. However, through one of my friends, I was given Jay’s (Alert Driving School) contact details. I started taking lessons with Jay and they were great. He is a very good teacher and is patient. He taught me everything I needed to know in my first few lessons and I was doing mock tests before I knew it. After each lesson he would properly explain the mistakes I made and what I could to do improve. Also, his car is a great car and it was enjoyable to drive.
