Having read through other reviews, I can confirm I have experienced many of the exact same problems as numerous other customers on here, which tells you everything you need to know.
Signing up for the free trial automatically enrolls you into a 30-day credit account with no clear warning, and invoices start appearing immediately. When you choose not to pay, rather than cancelling the account, they continue issuing invoices that stack up over time. Eventually, a threatening debt collection letter arrives out of nowhere.
Through my own investigation, I also find it very telling that Agora Business Publications LLP has no Google Business listing — meaning there is nowhere for customers to leave a public Google review. Make of that what you will.
This feels less like an oversight and more like a deliberately engineered system designed to extract money through confusing small print and technicalities. The pattern of complaints from multiple customers, combined with the absence of a Google presence, strongly suggests this is not accidental.
Do not accept this treatment — here is what you can do to fight back:
Nobody should have to put up with these kinds of predatory practices, and the only way to stop companies like this is to take action collectively. If you are in the same situation, please do the following:

Report to Citizens Advice on 0808 223 1133 or at citizensadvice.org.uk — they will refer your case directly to Trading Standards who investigate exactly this kind of dishonest business practice
Report to Action Fraud at actionfraud.police.uk or call 0300 123 2040 if you believe this is deliberately fraudulent behaviour
Dispute any payments taken with your bank immediately and raise a chargeback
Challenge the debt in writing — send a formal letter via recorded post stating you reject the debt and consider the contract terms unfair under the Consumer Rights Act 2015
Take it to the Small Claims Court if they continue to pursue you for money you do not owe.
Keep leaving reviews on Trustpilot, Reviews.io and every other platform you can find, it is clear they are already hiding from public scrutiny given the absence of a Google listing
Report them to Companies House if you suspect fraudulent trading activity

Keep every invoice, letter and email as evidence — you will need it. The more people who speak up and take formal action, the harder it becomes for businesses like this to continue operating this way. Do not stay silent.

We also got their scammy letters. I called to ask that the "customer" number gets removed from their shady subscription scam. The man on the phone wanted to argue, completely unprofessional.

DO NOT PAY THESE SCAMMERS! I am making a complaint to trading standards regarding this llp. The more people that push back against this the better.

We have not entered into any subscription and when a member of staff emailed them to remove us from the subscription they are attempting to manipulate the situation by saying they are taking this as proof of cancellation of the subscription.

No subscription was ever created by our company. When trying to remove this "customer" number they then want to use that as some sort of pathetic proof.

I will happily waste money with my legal team making sure we never pay this.

We are receiving letters. Have never heard of this company until now. Todays letter is dated 17/04/2026 That's Tomorrow?
HOWEVER under GDPR they need to: Justify why they hold and process your data.
Specifically, they need:
A lawful basis (usually “consent” or “contract”)
Evidence of that consent/contract
Transparency about how they got the data

IF YOU NEVER ENGAGED WITH THEM: They are likely in breach of;

Article 6 – no lawful basis for processing
Article 5 – fairness and transparency
Potentially PECR rules if marketing-related

The lawful basis for processing
Evidence of consent or contract
All data you hold on me (Subject Access Request)

If you cannot provide this, you must cease processing and remove my data under GDPR.”

If I could give them less than 1 star I would.
They are currently chasing me for payment for something I never wanted or requested!

Just recieved a bill I have never subscribed to this I am reporting this to trustmark and reporting to the police

If you’re dealing with these company, report them to Trading Standards and also report it as fraud to the police so you can get a reference number.

If debt collectors contact you, you can also reach out to the Credit Services Association (the organisation that oversees debt collection companies) for guidance.

Do not pay anything if you believe this is unfair. I’ve spoken with autohorities, and you have the right to ask the debt collector for proof. This includes: a signed contract, the IP address used, proof that you accepted the terms and conditions and that they were clearly visible, clear evidence that you agreed to a paid subscription, and a copy of the contract with the terms that were in place at the time.

If they can’t provide this, their practices are not be compliant with consumer protection rules, and this should be reported.

As I said in my previous review, here is an update on the response from Agora.
I challenged them about a £149 invoice that I received with no warning, and they said that I had taken out a 30 day trial, after which the subscription would be charged. Fair enough so far, but with these 30 day trials companies know perfectly well that many people will forget them, so the honourable thing to do would be to send an email saying that the trial period is coming to an end, and does the customer want to continue with the changeable option. Nothing like this happened, and all the emails I received from them simply fell into the junk folder.
What they have done however is tell me that I can pay just £49.95 and they will close my subscription. Sadly I will have to do this - I have no option.
This is shoddy, sharp practise, and it's therefore no wonder that Agora received such a large volume of negative reviews.
Do not touch this company, they operate a scam.

We have been receiving invoices from Agora Business Publication for services that we have never ordered or agreed to.

According to them, someone clicked something from our general company email address and they claim this constitutes an agreement to publish Health & Safety information. This is completely unacceptable. Our general email address is accessible by multiple people and clicking an email link cannot legally create a paid contract.

We have never signed any agreement, never provided card or bank details, and never purchased any Health & Safety documentation or publication from this company.

Despite explaining this several times, they continue sending invoices for services that were never requested and never delivered.

In our opinion this practice is highly questionable. Sending invoices based only on an email interaction, without a signed contract or payment authorisation, raises serious concerns.

These invoices will not be paid, and if they continue sending them the matter will be reported as a potential invoice scam.

⚠️ We strongly advise other businesses to be very cautious when dealing with this company and their publications.

The reason I am writing here is to prevent this from happening to you as well. This company first sends an email offering a free subscription, and later, without you clearly noticing, claims that you have subscribed and sends an invoice to the address you provided.

If you do not pay the invoice, they send you a payment demand through a form. Unfortunately, I did not fully understand the process. I made the payment. However, mentally, this situation has genuinely harmed me.

Could you please advise about the legal process so I can report/complaint that company to the authorities? I strongly advise you not only to write here about your experience, but also to take further action. I strongly believe that in the UK, the courts would make an appropriate decision to prevent them from harming more other people.

The business is a sca. they claim it was free subscription and gone ahead to charge 59.60 for subscription for papers i never read or received. they plan on sending in a debt collector but i am sticking to not payning jack shit as they are a scam and wont intimidate me into paying nada, they are thieves and the business is a scam

Terrible, send me debt collectors letters for being mis sold and unwillign subscribed to an online subscription without adding any payment details or being notified, they then send invoices due for payments of magazines i have never recived.
Same experience as everyone else.
there customer service seems to be used to dealing with this constant complaint of being mis sold as you can tell from there repsonse when i queiried it.

I did a trial of this Companies’s h&s product. I cancelled the trial and they have come after me for failure to pay for subscriptions. They have now passed it to their debt collectors. So I would not recommend them to anyone.

Unfortunately, I have fallen victim to a scam. I signed up for a free online tool called Mental Health Advisor. What was not clear at all was that this involved a subscription. The very next day, I emailed them to cancel, as I did not wish to sign up.

I never entered any card details and understood that I had a 30-day free trial during which I could cancel. I assumed the cancellation had gone through because I received no confirmation. Two months later, I received an invoice. When I questioned it, they insisted I had signed up. It was only after checking my messages that I realized the subscription came under a company called Agora.

Contacting them is extremely frustrating. Emails take ages to get a response, and calling the number they provide just results in being referred back to email. I have sent proof that I canceled within the allowed timeframe, but there has been no response.

Avoid Agora and anything called Mental Health Advisor – this is 100% a scam.

Very concerned about this company. My husband received an invoice for £99.80 for a subscription he did not order.
Do not know where they got his name and address from but my husband has been retired due to ill health for over 10 years and has never heard of this company.
I phoned Agora and spoke to a lady named Anna who told me he had ordered the subscription, I told her there is no way he could have done this and she said she would speak to a colleague and cancel it.
No apology or explanation as to where they got his details. Very suspicious of their practices, beware and avoid.

Duped into signing up to a payment for a service I did not even use. Very underhanded company. Do not use this company the services you get from them can mostly be done for free. I’m angry

Absolutely disgusting company. Luckily I saw the small print just after i asked to download the "free software" emailed them and called them to confirm the cancellation. KEEP WELL CLEAR OF THESE SCAMMERS!!!

I am a Health and Safety Consultant, trying to run a Good Honest respectable business, and I was looking for some advice, I thought I would use a local company, signed up to the news letter, now I am being sent demands for payment, which now includes late payment fees, and threatening Debit Collection Agency's. I never used any of the services, so trust me, this company is a scam! I will be seeking advice from Trading Standards, and I will make sure that I never deal with sure unscrupulous individuals again.
