We just returned from a six week African extravaganza experience. This was our third visit to Africa, all professionally curated by Helen Kirby. From Tanzania to Kenya to Kruger National Park to Cape Town this trip, like the previous two, was meticulously planned and executed. And if something should go wrong mid trip, it always felt like Helen was metaphorically looking over our shoulder since she often knew of an airline cancellation or a weather issue before anyone else, and she would have an alternate plan in place before we had a chance to worry. Great communication skills, great knowledge of every place she recommends, and very fun to work with.

Helen did an incredible job tailoring our South African safari (and beyond!) to our desired experience, timeline and budget. My group of four stayed at the Motswari Private Game Reserve and it was a magical experience! Helen lined us up with a quick night of lodging in Johannesburg ahead of our safari (to fight off jet lag coming from the States), booked our R/T flights in and out of Hoedspruit, booked us at the spectacular Motswari lodge, and also arranged private transportation everywhere in between. Simply put, she made our adventure simple to navigate AND outright special. She even provided a thoughtful surprise or two for us along the way. She was quick to communicate and check in with me to make sure we were well taken care of the entire visit. We WILL be going back to Africa in the coming years, and when we do, we'll be using Helen's expertise and organization for our trip. Highly recommend!

I cannot recommend Helen and African Leap Safaris more highly enough. Helen listened to us carefully and understood how we wanted to organise our trip. Helen came to us through our Good Family Friend as he has been working with her for a while. My daughter and I along with Him and his colleague went to South Africa for 2 weeks. This was the first time for my daughter and I. Helen took care of the Safari part of our trip and the Lodge we stayed at (Makanyi) was Wonderful. Helen co-ordinated our fantastic trip to Malawi and Zambia this summer. She channelled her passion for Africa into ensuring we had the best time - listening to what we wanted to see and learn - the animals and birds are a (wonderful)given, but we also wanted to learn about the people and history and politics and the environment. And she helped bring all of that alive in a well-paced hugely varied itinerary. She is also so quick to respond, provide any back up advice etc. Definitely a 5 star experience

We just returned from our honeymoon in Kenya and Rwanda, planned by Helen of African Leap Safaris, and there are simply no words for how perfect and seamless our trip was. I quite literally did not have to think for myself for 2 weeks - Every single need was anticipated, pre-planned, and seen to.

From the moment we landed in Nairobi, we had a VIP escort who saw to our bags and ushered us through the visa process. This was the case in Kigali as well, and for our return flights. We were escorted from the airport to our hotels by our tour guides, and given thorough briefings on our itinerary that left nothing to question (which, as someone who is quite Type-A, I loved).

Every single person along the way was kind, friendly, and helpful, bringing Helen's thoughtful planning to life flawlessly. And along the way, we knew Helen was thinking of us. Before our return to Nairobi, we received alerts of protests and simultaneously received an email from Helen, reassuring us that she'd spoken to her ground handlers about what was going on, gauged the situation, and immediately assuaged any safety concerns before we even had a chance to wonder if there was an issue!

It truly felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience - One we hope to recreate again when we book our inevitable next trip with Helen. We've already recommended African Leap Safaris to several friends, and know that we'll absolutely refer Helen to more in the future!

Helen Kirby was the most extraordinary African Tour Planner for our 2 trips to Africa. Helen is is well-known and respected. She was originally recommended to us by a woman who had lived in Botswana for many years. So, I contacted Helen to help plan an African trip that we wanted to take in 2018. In a nutshell, that trip was a trip of a lifetime. During the planning of that trip, as I would bring up ideas for her where I thought we might want to go, she would either totally agree,or gently explain why our idea might be a bit disappointing. Traveling in foreign countries can be stressful, but Helen made it easy for us. We had such a fabulous time on that 2018 trip that, once again, when we wanted to return to Africa, I contacted Helen.
